Dyego Sousa :eek::eek::eek:
Honestly I am not so surprised due to our lack of options on that area. Unfortunately Andre Silva is showing he is mentally weak, already lost his place on the starting 11 at Sevilla. But Sousa will be a bench player, will fill the Eder role.

I didn't even know he had been naturalized. Very good option to have, think he might even grab the starting spot. With William losing his place to Ruben Neves we're going to need more physical presence and he fits the bill.

Patricio

Cancelo-Ruben Dias-Pepe-Guerreiro

B.Fernandes-Neves-Moutinho

Bernardo-Dyego Sousa-Ronaldo
Ferro should have been called up imo. We need centrebacks and he looks decent

As Moutinho gets older I see William, neves, and Bruno as the mid and I actually quite like that.

Moutinho is still great, been better than Neves this season. I think we can't afford to play both William and Neves, they're way too similar.

Neves with two energetic players in Moutinho and Bruno would be perfect.

I am not so sure William or Neves for Santos will play on the same areas but Moutinho coming will certainly give another option. Strange one is Santos seems to not rate Anthony Lopes, unless he is injured he is much better than Beto or Sa and not much between him or Patricio.

Lopes got injured vs Barcelona I think. He should be the second goalkeeper

Think you mean Bruno Fernandes? He is more an attacking midfielder or best suited to play as a classic 10 behind the striker. I already had that discussion here but here it goes. For me if he would go to a EPL club to be a protagonist and that’s always a big if when we talk about England it would be at clubs like Wolves or Everton level.

If we’re talking Man United looking at the players you have honestly only as a squad player, an alternative option to Pogba coming from the bench or someone to fill the gap if Mata leaves.

I don’t know if @Peyroteo shares the same opinion as me but at least it’s what I think.

Curious to see if he can start for Portugal because it’s the place where we have more competition.

And unlike most Portugal players he didn’t played at youth level on the main clubs, went with 18 to Série A at Udinese.

Let’s say it’s the same type of risk as signing Fred, interesting player but the top 6 in England are way too strong now, just look at Jorginho at Chelsea.

Ok that one is from Sporting Youth teams from the 2001 age group who plays as a defensive midfielder who usually plays for Portugal under 17’s. Don’t tell me one more who is going to leave us?

Anyway he is a interesting player at this level, hard to predict how good he will be, hope he doesn’t leave us.

Well from the 2001 age group from Portugal he is good like Felix Correia but there are a lot of interesting players at this level in Portugal like in England.

Looking forward to Porto-Benfica this evening. I'm personally hoping to see Oliver Torres get some minutes today but I'm not holding my breath.
Bit late but I did watch this game the other week and it was fun. Torres did play but, sadly, was very disappointing. Gabriel Pires who I've liked since he was at Leganes where he was pretty much a support striker, bossed the midfield as a CM. I'm happy he's settling in well.

The player that stood out to me was Ferro. He had to be carried a bit by Ruben Dias defensively but he looks like a great prospect. Some of his passes are out of this world. Grimaldo, as always, continues to impress, too.

I know I am on a minority here in Portugal but here it goes. I think he is a better prospect than Dias.

If you have 90 minutes free to waste your life.
Number 18 playing against France for the under 16. It was 2 years ago.

I think he has been called up to the under 19's who will start their qualification for the next Euros, don't know if he will start because unfortunately he has a crap manager at the under 19's from Sporting, last week the team was completely blitzed by Porto at Olival, they lost 5:1.

I don't blame the players because honestly they seem completely without orientation.

If you look at this match the standout player is number 7 Umaro Embaló, who has been having ups and downs, he plays for Benfica. Lets see what happens.

I agree Dias is very overhyped and makes too many mistakes to make it at a high level. I also prefer Ferro.

The other day I said this to a Benfica fan about Ferro he thought I was joking. Dias will be a normal player but its clear to anyone who pays attention he hasn't much inteligence on his actions.

In another league he would get a red card every other weekend. Also in the Belenenses game it showed his mental lapses.

Don't think you are. From what I've seen I agree.
You know how the Lamps are. They live on a bubble of their own. Yesterday when Santos was announcing the players it looked by the media reaction Félix is more important than Ronaldo.

Under 17's started well with a victory over Scotland. Fábio Silva scoring once again. Looks a nice prospect this one.

Thank God I am working during the night, I have to laugh when I read Santos can do whatever he wants. He is shit now as he was during the past, we are talking about someone whose highest point at club level was reaching the quarterfinals of the Champions League in 2000 on the same year he lost the League to fecking Sporting with Jardel/Drulovic/Capucho/Deco.

Honestly the best thing it would happen to us would be to fail the qualification to the Euros and a heavy defeat vs Switzerland to change things.

Even a historical quality we always had which was how to counterattack is completely lost. Even fecking Bento with worse players in 2012 was able to put the team playing well that way.

This has nothing to do with being defensive or offensive, it’s just 4 and a half years with no evolution, predictable movements and outdated football from the 90’s.

I fecking hate this guy as a coach, even liked more Paulo Bento, I suspect even United fans here on this forum have more respect for Mourinho than I have for this guy.

It’s nothing personal, I am just saying the obvious thing, just look at Bernardo Silva or Cancelo on this team and compare them on their clubs.

Again working on Monday and I already know when I leave it will be more of the same or even worse.

Yes football is also entertainment, this is not being unrealistic on my expectations, I only demand orientation on the pitch and respect for the fans, not bothered with surviving knockouts.

Sorry for the rant but I was already expecting this. And congratulations to England by the way.

Better stay out for a few days.

I'm all for Santos doing whatever the feck he wants since he's won the Euros but even I had to laugh at bringing in João Mário for João Moutinho with 5 minutes to go.

He usually changes things around after a bad result though, if it's more of the same against Serbia I'll start to change my mind about him

The under 17's beat Poland today and will decide vs Russia who wins the group but worse case scenario on a defeat we possibly will be amongst one of the 7 second best placed teams, most probably qualified to the Euros.

The under 19's beat Turkey 3:0 but will need to beat Scotland to qualify for the next edition, less talented this generation than the previous one imo.

Not going to rant tonight for 2 reasons. Only arrived now, didn’t watched the game but from what I heard and read we actually played better than Friday and some circumstances of the game didn’t went on our way. It’s part of the game.

Also heard Ronaldo left with 30 minutes and the only question I make is.Why Dyego Sousa starting? Never was a great fan of him anyway.

Now comes my predictable sentence of the night. I never liked Santos as a manager since his jobs here in Portugal and later on Greece and from now on we are marching between stagnation to regression.

I hate to be the grumpy fecking moaner here and to disturb the positive posters here who rate him.

Someone has to tell the truth and that is we better start finding good alternatives to him before it’s too late.

And no I don’t want Mourinho here. We are on a terrible situation where our next game is on Serbia, sorry for giving bad news but under Santos the best thing we will do there and on Ukraine is to avoid defeat, and we need to win.

With this it’s quite obvious the Nations League game doesn’t matter anymore, unless there are some fantasists who actually believe we can beat anyone with the Engineer.

I am done with this guy. Of course in the end I finished ranting again. It’s stronger than me.

Under 20's won today but more important will be the final list for Poland.
The under 19's beat Scotland 4:0 but Scotland was unlucky with some decisions by the referee, of course we can say the same regarding yesterday vs Serbia and no one cares in the end.

Anyway without being a particularly talented team its impressive our record at the under 19's over this decade. I promisse I won't say the name of the guy on the top who is ready to feckup all the talent coming in. Yes I know its stronger than me.

Again we won the game vs Russia but we were already qualified. This generation is more talented than the ones from the under 19's, the surprising fact is that the last time we qualified to a under 17 WC was in 2003, that generation of Moutinho, Manuel Fernandes, Veloso so on.

Anyway did I mentioned there is a Engineer ready to break these too? Ok stop it I know. :p

For balance, under 17 Euros, under 19 Euros and under 20 WC. Frustrating to miss the under 21 Euros, and of course that qualification for the next Euros is going so well, Belgrade will be a Engineering masterclass. Can't wait for that shitshow coming next to your screens.

Oh and the Semifinal vs Switzerland, of course maybe the good people of Cidade Invicta may bring the required spirit to at least compete.

Final note, has anyone payed attention to how zombified the blokes at Benfica stadium look? No wonder we can't beat anyone.

How good will be the reception to Patricio or William when they go to Alvalade when we face Luxembourg? Cracking stuff.

I am done now, I will come here less on the next weeks, of course when those tournaments arrive I will give the insight. I mean the youth ones, because the Engineer stuff is too much for my eyes. Take care of the place @Peyroteo and @SportingCP96 and chill.

Write this here on the 7th of February, after the first leg vs Benfica.

Better than yesterday when the portuguese FA thought it was a good idea to announce Ristovski got his suspension reduced 2 hours before the game started so we had to play Bruno Gaspar instead.
Now, 2 months later, Ristovski is suspended for the second leg of the same tie vs Benfica, this time due to a wrongly given red card in the last game... the federation has conveniently forgotten to cancel his suspension.

You can’t write this

I am absolutely fecking ecstatic ! Bruno Fernandes puts us in the final with a trademark goal in both games. I would not have thought we would reach 2 finals after what happened in the summer. The truth is IF we manage to win the Taca de Portugal then the season has been a success based on what happened. 2 domestic trophies and 3rd place is very respectable. Im getting ahead of myself but I am just going to enjoy this win today because I despise SL Merda more then anything !

E O SPORTING E O NOSSO GRANDE AMOR!!!
