334 (33%).

There are quite a few albums on that list I'd happily avoid for the rest of my life though.

Let's say you're given a terminal diagnosis and dedicate your last 6 months to working through this list. You listen to everything other than Robbie Williams' Life through a lens and have a couple of days left.

Do you actually do it?

Absolutely not. I reckon there are hundreds of better albums elsewhere. Probably thousands.

Hey, any album with Angels, Let Me Entertain You, Old Before I Die and Lazy Days on it deserves a quick rotation.

Cheers for the link, @BD — I'm going to give this challenge list a go...

253 or 25%. Always great to see bands such as RFTC, Mudhoney and Dinosaur Jr in these lists.

If counting criteria only for full album heard i just got 34 out of 1001. I know almost of that list but rarely last on full album. Listen to single track or two always my kind of thing.

Surprised how much 80s/90s stuff I've not listened to properly.

The day I listen to a Robbie Williams album is the day I welcome death.

Do I have to have listened to each album start to finish, or if I reckon I've heard most of the songs on an albumn can I tick it off?

Only 80. Surprised at how few modern ones I'd heard, actually.

There's a few in there that I know I really should listen to. I'm tempted to try and go through the list, actually, because I obviously need to expand my horizons.

451. Working in record shops really helped. A lot of shite in amongst those too. There were some odd inclusions in the list as well as some glaring omissions given some of the stuff that was of a similar nature in there.

Marvin Gaye's 'Hear, My Dear' is a terrible record, interesting because of the story behind it, but not a good listen at all!

Currently on page 15, and have 1%
I never listen to old albums, they sound shit.

And i am also only marking the ones where i heard the whole album, not only a few songs on the radio.

I’d say 12% i’ve listened to all the way though and probably at least double that for albums i’ve only heard some of the tracks.

44/1001 4%

Probably heard songs from half of them, but not listened to the full album.
The other half i haven't even heard of.

Some weird picks on there aswell. Some of my favourite bands' albums aren't even the best ones (from when i had 'favourite bands').
Slipknot - Iowa - is considered their best album, but this site only had their first, self titled, album on there.
Pantera - Cowboys from hell - Their first, and most important, album. Probably rated 2nd of their albums, but my favourite.
Korn's first album should be on there aswell, not only "Freak on a leash".

Guess these polls/tests aren't suited for us metal heads :)

I found the metal choices very strange too...

Got 194 in all, pretty much all the rock/metal.

Watched a documentary recently about Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen, listened to Never Mind the Bollocks after, still an absolutely amazing album.

Yes. All old albums sound like shit. I don't know why they don't just destroy all music recorded before 2003.

We can pretend i said that, if it makes you feel better.

I have heard most Beatles songs, but no clue what albums they are on, or if i have listened to all songs on any of their albums, so i don't select them.
Same with Lenny Kravitz, Def Leppard, Pink Floyd, Sabbath, etc, but never listened to their full albums, and i don't like any of them enough to bother doing so.

Dunno about the others, but Pink Floyd as an actual *whole* album experience quite work. Especially their 70s albums (ANIMALS!)...even for the metalheads. Try it!

You like Slipknot, korn and others and have never listened to a full Sabbath album? Weird.

I'm just happy Taylor Swift finally made the list.
