He was 21... he was a starter at Udinese alongside Di Natale. You can see his quality just by looking at him "eye test" as people like to say on here. Torreira and him are completely different players and he never fully fit Sampdoria. Coaches have a play in that too. Bruno was just a child when he was in Italy and had over 150 starts that Is saying something. Lingard is not that good never was and if he was at a west ham for example he would not have the same impact as a Felipe Anderson for example.

Pizzi has the luxury of playing in the best team in the league who scores goals for fun because the defense stops trying.. what do you think Bruno Fernandes numbers would be if he played in Benfica. I can only imagine.
I haven't seen him enough to have an opinion but 15 goals in 119 starts in midfield in Serie A from ages 19-22 isn't that bad a goal record. Hardly discouraging.

Deus.

26 goals for the season, 1 away from matching Lampard's record of 27 goals in a season as a midfielder. fecking incredible.

I'm certain he's going to get over 30 too.

Send him our way for next season bud
Sadly I think it will happen but if I am Sporting I am selling all the surplus players and breaking the bank to keep him 1 more season and build around him. His intangibles his attitude as a leader an captain are fantastic for a guy so young he would fit like a glove in the EPL.

I quite like the look of this chap.. he seems to score all types of goals, doesn’t he?

Get him in and let’s see what he can do, Lord knows we need more goals in the side.

Also he struck a 30 yard free kick off the bar. His shooting and free kicks are simply exceptional for a lad so skinny he stroked the ball with an insane amount of power and technique.

I fear this would be Fred version of summer 2019. We would probably pay 60m and the guy will look like an Everton player at best.

he is much more an attacking player then Pogba. Better shot better goal instincts and know how of where the ball will fall and good vision.

Pogba has better vision passing reading of the game and technical ability and the ability to dictate a game. Ill tell you what though there is not a player at United that can strike a ball as sweet as Bruno.

Similar to Pogba position wise but a very different player. Lampard is the best comparison in terms of playing style imo, but even that isn't perfect.

He's similar to Herrera in the way that he isn't a physical player but he's a pain in the ass in the way he presses the opposition, he's always in the ref's ear, etc. but offensively he's much more productive and takes more risks.

Here he's carrying the team besides a bunch of mediocrity, has the freedom to shoot any time, takes all set pieces... when he goes somewhere where he's just a cog in a machine it will be interesting to see what changes and if he can turn actually turn into a great player. So there's definitely that risk but worst case scenario for him he'll still be better than Fred. I guarantee you that.

Think he should go to Liverpool, Atletico or to Italy (Milan, Inter or Napoli), I'd be much more confident of him making it as a starter there.

What's he like defensively?
He always tracks back he has quite an engine on him can run 90 minutes nonstop.

Though if you sign him thats not what you want from him you want his attacking ability especially anywhere from 30 yards and closer.

He is the type of player to give 100% every game its in his nature. He is the captain for a reason he is a leader.

I dont want him to go to Wolves but not going to lie I think he would fit right in. Imagine him Moutinho and Neves together and him and Neves shooting bombs from midfield. I feel the transition would be easy as well.

And hows he compared to Fekir ? I know Fekir is way ahead in terms of development but still for 60 m who would be a better value ?

That depends on the manager both very good players especially for a price tag like 60M. Fekir is more creative but Bruno is more of a goal threat.

I think Bruno adapts quicker to the EPL then Fekir would but this is all opinion obviously. Bruno Fernandes has a very rigid personality very feisty always contesting challenges and in the refs ear.

I think because of Pogba their it does not make as much sense as say in other teams. Nonetheless for a player like this You make him fit.

I think Fekir suits our needs more, he's a creator that could operate in that role behind Rashford and Martial.

Fred never looked special. This guy is being rated as one of the best Sporting players ever to wear the shirt.

In the past 15 years absolutely. Since Jardel I have not heard or seen a player dominate and carry a team as much as Bruno Fernandes has this season. 101 games and 42 goals....as a midfielder.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
I've been watching his YouTube highlights a bit over the last two days after we've been linked with him. Wanted to watch the game tonight to see him and Felix but had visitors so couldn't in the end.

But based off YouTube scouting and what Sporting fans have been saying on here, i think he looks like a potentially very good buy for us. He's going to get a lot of recognition for his goals, and his stats are unbelievable, but i like how hard working he is off the ball, along with being very clever on the ball.

I think he'd be a big upgrade on Herrera and would work well next to Pogba, but we could revolutionise our midfield with hard working but quality players if we had to replace Pogba with him. Throw in payers like Ndombele alongside him and i think you'll finally start to see a very well balanced midfield that has energy and quality. If he plays alongside Pogba then i think a dedicated holding midfielder would be needed, but still somebody with tenacity and good work ethic on the pitch.

If we get rid of Pogba then Fernandes should be our go to midfielder. Pogba is an attacking player who is a liability in defending. No midfielder on the planet has Pogba's blend of physicality and technical ability. However, he is inconsistent. Fernandes can provide output in goals and assists. He can press, dribble and get stuck in. If we buy Fernandes and someone like Saul/Ndombele then our midfield will be far more effective, right now all we do is rely on Pogba.

I think IF the Pogba to Madrid rumores are true then at that point buying Bruno Fernandes would be a no brainer ( not saying they can’t play together) but just like you said 2 DMs or high energy box to box midfielder behind Bruno Fernandes as your #10 then that would cause a real real problem for other teams and then with the pogba money getting Sancho as the RW and all of a sudden United have a much more balanced team. Giving up Pogba in prol to building a cohesive Team would not be a loss in my opinion.

Also I agree with all your points.

100% like I said I don’t think it is a far fetched idea for United to ship Pogba to Madrid and then sell matic and Herrera by the looks of it is gone and then United go and pick up Sancho, Bruno , ndombele and who ever else they target. The team becomes more balanced and has more young and hungry players instead of lazy star players ( no offense to Pogba).

Took an exception to come here to say yes he is doing a great season, yes he is a good player but best Sporting player ever?

Well I watched Balakov on his peak, Figo and Paulo Sousa last season for us on a era the League was stronger before the Bosman ruling and for me these 3 were better.

Don’t mention Jardel after because he is the definition of a great goal scorer who barely played football outside the area.

So boys let’s calm down the hype, but yes he can play on stronger leagues, if it is United or other club I don’t know.

One thing I know is that Santos needs to start him for Portugal but with the ability he has to turn a entire team to look shit better not wait.

Finally don’t care about this just glad he finished the job with them today.

On another note that kid Felix is not ready to play at a higher level, Gestifute and Benfica should make less propaganda because kids with these age should focus on actually being football players and not financial numbers.

Enough said, oh and sorry if it’s not the proper thread but Benfica é Merda @SportingCP96 and @Peyroteo.

Can’t spend much time here but today it was a must of course being Sporting we just know we will start losing and self imploding again.

I fecking love it. :)

Its a shift in mentality not only talent. Do you think Fernandes has the determination to succeed? He isn't very young but he is coming into his peak. But if Pogba does leave then he cannot simply be replaced by one CM. We would need someone like Fernandes to replace his output and Saul to add some technical ability and also chip in with goals occasionally. I do believe once we have two CMs who are more effective in passing then the front trio will also score more. I am also not very sure on Fernandes passing ability in comparison to Pogba. That is why I believe we need someone who is more composed on the ball like Saul or Neves.

Few players are ready to replace Pogba, so with this I answered your question.
