I can see Barca moving for Sancho if they get rid of Coutinho. As for one the Englishman certainly fits their style better than the Brazilian.
Having a attack of :

Dembele---Messi---Sancho
-----------Suarez----------
or
Messi---Suarez---Sancho/Dembele

Looks tasty.
If they do, I'd take Malcolm as a consolation price for 40-50M.

But the club I'm surprised isn't in for Sancho is Real. They could roll with Sancho, Asensio and Vinicius as their wingers next year and toss Bale overboard, buy a new 9 who can actually score and they're back in business.

If you assume players at the richest 10 clubs or so are tough to sign but everyone else is gettable and take their age into account, I would think Sancho is the safest buy available, along with guys like De Ligt, Rodri (clause), Brandt, maybe Chiesa, Neves, Pepe, Aouar and Havertz certainly, Skriniar. So I expect Real to surprise people and come in for a couple names from that list, since they seem to have a logical approach these days.

Also is he that good defensively at the top level? He seems more of a winger shoved at LB.
He started as a full back, was great going forward and moved to the wing around December 2017. Was mostly a winger earlier this season, but I think Ranieri mostly played him at full back when he did play him. He's a winger.

Let's think hypothetically since it's the best way to think. It's fun and it's harmless, and this summer is going to be crazier than anyone really expects anyway.

Say the club is on the verge of a few early deals. Something like:

AWB or Meunier for ~40M (prefer Meunier since Shaw isn't that special going forward)
Bruno Fernades for ~60M
Partey or Rice for ~50M
Koulibaly for ~80M

That's more or less the budget spent at ~230M.

So those deals are secured, why not then sell Pogba, Lukaku and De Gea for ~250M (and my preference would be to sell Lingard too to push closer to 300M - but I shouldn't be too wishful).

We'd still have another 250M to play with (ideally), so go and get Sancho or Joao Felix and something like a Timo Werner/Cavani as a backup option and sell this project like crazy to De Ligt.

Romero (temporary)
Meunier - De Ligt - Koulibaly - Shaw
Fred - Partey / Rice - Bruno
Sancho/Felix - Rashford - Martial

Subs: Dalot, Smalling, Werner, McTom, Matic, Henderson, Greenwood / Lingard
This is fun, someone check my numbers.

But in all honesty, why would we keep De Gea / Pogba / Lukaku beyond this summer if they either want out anyway or don't fit into the plans? They are of course nice players, but they aren't leaders whose absence would crush the locker room.

Ed Woodward, if any of your stooges are reading this for ideas to throw your way, you should execute a 3-stage plan for the summer: 1) early deals 2) Massive sales 3) Big finale

Go!

Romero, too! So 6 signings in each of LvG's 2 seasons here. 4 in Mourinho's first with one breaking the transfer record. There's basis to believe we'll (hopefully) spend this summer.
Since Ferguson's left, we've generally spent bigger when out of the CL (look how miserly we were in summer 2018 compared with 2016). Unfortunately it looks like we'll miss out again this season, but at least it means we'll hopefully give Olé a bigger budget to bring in who he wants.

Every possibility we've already done a deal for Sancho but nothing is being said as Dortmund are still in a title race. Anything about their current players being sold in summer coming out now will rock the boat and that'll hamper their chances of the title.
I really hope Woodward has the sense to go after this kid and drop his obsession with going after Bale.

What obsession are you referring to? We made an offer to Spurs before he went to Real, since then, it’s been all paper talk. I mean, I’m sure we would have brought him here if the opportunity arose over the years, probably because he’s a top player, a top British one.

Wan Bissaka is a much better defender than Trippier but Trippier is definitely better going forwards. His delivery is in another league to Wan Bissaka as well. Depends what Ole wants and how he wants us to play.

They must have really high hopes for Kyle Walker-Peters if they are willing to let Trippier go

Trippier isn't good enough - he seems to make errors in every single big game.

Aaah we’re linked to Spurs players again. I remember that time the papers were linking us to Dier, yet no United fan actually wanted him here but Glaston managed to convince himself we did and got really angry and upset as a result. Fun times.

I honestly don't care what other people think to be honest. I care about United getting better. Otherwise you know I agree, I'd prefer Dybala, Fekir and Eriksen to the ones I've mentioned. Just wanted to point out that in case Sancho isn't happening this summer, that we've got options. You are probably right about the Dortmund move, I think, I've read it previously and it would be one of those smart signings that they usually make.
Agreed on not caring about the other fandom's as I think Thorgan Hazard's performances would shut them up fairly quickly, however I'm pretty sure there's something solid in the Dortmund/Chelsea agreement that will lead him there in the summer. Sancho isn'tr gonna happen IMO and I agree that if the RW must be bought then there are options, I'd probably go cheaper like Lozano though unless Chiesa is available for sub £50M, as both are versatile and wouldn't block the road to getting in a more proven forward.

We are being linked to every muppets dream signings.
Not true until we have a front four of Mbappe, Messi Ronaldo and Neymar. Subs maybe Sancho, Martial, Rashford and Dybala.

The above said I wouldn't actually want Neymar Messi or Ronaldo. The first due to attitude, the last two due to age, wage and transfer fee.

Who gives a feck about Messi’s wage and transfer fee  he’s the greatest of all time.

So we get another right back who’s very suspect at defending? Ideal Young replacement...
Think we need a RB who is good going forward, our LB is very strong defensively but meh going forward, so we need our RB to be better offensively
Also the problem with Young is not that he is poor defensively, it's that he can neither defend nor attack
