It actually wasn't up until tonight around 7 pm.
Nah for last few weeks it's looked ominous to me that Bayern can take first half of season off allowing Dortmund to build up a nice lead yet still pick up second half of the season and win the league.

Relegation battle is really boring aswell. Hanover and Nurnberg been adrift for ages. Only interesting thing for me is if Stuttgart or Schalke finish in relegation play off as Hamburg could well finish in 3rd in Bundesliga 2 so we'd then have monumental play off.

Dortmund needs to find a proper coach if they want to fight for the title, Favre is embarrassment..

Jesus! Dortmund reminded me of us in 2014: leading the table and still getting battered away from home by the big teams. And to think this is the worst Bayern side in ages.

He really isn't, done a brilliant job at majority of clubs he's been at. Check out what he did at 'Gladbach and Nice. Even at Hertha Berlin they were top 4 weren't they in his one full season.

Only issue is he's never been involved in a proper title race as a manager, guess it would be the same if Tuchel was still there.

I mean when you get beaten so easily you obviously have to look at the coach and his gamble on Dahoud definitely backfired horribly. But it's not all on him: it's not his fault that he had to start players like Bruun-Larsen, a Piszczek who hasn't played for two months or that Zagadou, who has had a good season overall completely imploded. To call him an embarassment is knee-jerk to the extreme.
Dortmund are in the middle of a two season re-build, they changed half their first team and they will be looking for full backs, an attacker (Kicker claiming they have some form of verbal agreement with Thorgan) and probably a creative CM. The first half of the season was spectacular, the second half is along the lines of what was to be expected before the season (with the loss in Munich probably a bit worse at the moment), but on the whole he's still exceeding expectations.

Granted. His announcement of wanting to move might also have had a big influence of him being out of favor though.
Or maybe it's because he's been shambolic this season. In terms of dispossessed per 90 he quite comfortably got the highest stat in the league and in terms of unsuccessful touches he's 7th highest. He has become quite selfish and regularly bites off more than he can chew.

Discount Hazard will almost definitely leave Gladbach in the summer. Dortmund are high up the list (something something always buying the best players from smaller clubs ;) ), but Liverpool are also in the mix. Another rumor links us (Bayern) with Gündogan.

That's like Barca buying a player from Valencia. It's a different story if a top club can feed on a direct competitor. That's also why I prefer seeing Bayer players go to Dortmund. Bitter but it helps leveling the playing field instead of making the whole league situation even worse. I still think Bayern buying Lewa, Götze and Hummels killed the Bundesliga and buried every chance Bayern had to again win the CL. You humiliated your only sparring partner and were caught out of shape when you faced other top clubs.

Gündogan would be a good buy for you however. Thiago/Gündogan/Martinez would be one hell of a midfield.

Lewandowski was the sucker punch really, Borussia were still going to be competitive without Götze but couldn’t deal with losing their star forward for nothing.

Hummels was a strange one, having played for Bayern before he was said to not be keen at returning to a club that had turned him down before. He jumped at the chance the very moment they became interested.

Borussia Mönchengladbach have confirmed that Marco Rose will become their new head coach for the start of season 2019/20. Very interested to see how he gets on there. Nice to have him in the league.

Of all the clubs he has been linked with this is by far the one I am most happy with. Have not really wached his Salzburg team all that much but you hear a lot of good stuff about him. Really interested to see what he will do with that Gladbach squad, really happy about this transfer.

Nice, will be interesting to see how he set up in Bundesliga. His Salzburg team was good to watch in Europa league.

Yes same here. I have seen only 4 or 5 Salzburg games in Europa, and he certainly coaches good football to watch as a neutral!

Luckily he wasn't tempted by the mess that is currently Schalke! Gladbach have a very good core to their squad, even with losing Hazard in the summer.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gladbach's squad has sort of peaked. At least their attack:
Raffael is too old to play a big role, Hazard will be gone, Herrmann and Trarore are mediocre. That leaves Stindl who didn't have that great a season and turns 31 this summer as well and Plea who had a spectacular first half of the season, but didn't do all that much since the winter break. I guess for Hecking to get fired so soon after his contract renewal things must be very messy at the moment, so those two picking up form under a new coach wouldn't be the biggest surprise in the world, but still, they kind of both want to play as a #10/SS and aren't really happy leading the line or on the wings.
Obviously Gladbach get like 30-40mil for Hazard, but it's not that much when you want to buy a #9 and at least one dominant winger, as well as a LB (since Wendt is 33 years old) and you have no CL money to rely on.

I think bottom line Eberl is a good DoF, but I really think he often acts too risk averse. Spending too much money on players from within the league, who offer some measure of safety, but also little potential for improvement. Or extending Hecking's contract, even though he never really proved that he had a good attacking plan.
Feels like he's sort of fine to challenge for the EL and everything on top of that is just a bonus, instead of trying to chase a CL spot with more a more daring coaching appointment and perhaps trying to sign the next teenage superstar.
Perhaps the sacking of Hecking and singing of Rose will mark a change in that policy.

Great to see Rose coming to the BL, his Salzburg team were really impressive in the EL. Took Napoli close as well.

Agree that Gladbach don't look good going into next season. Rose will have a hell of a job to do to get this team close to the European spots. Herrmann's story makes me sad though, I really liked him when he exploded onto the scene in 2011-12, he looked set to be a great player but injuries stopped that from becoming a possibility. Hoffmann looked good early in the season as well but faded along with the other players.

I don't know, I think Gladbach is in a decent way. You have to factor in the Hecking effect as to why they may not be performing up to standard at the moment too. No (great) offence to Hecking, but it should be no surprise that their football has fallen off a cliff.

Of course, it'll be interesting to see what they do in the summer, Hazard will go, but hopefully for them, they won't lose other key players.

They have a terrific goalie in Yann Sommer, Elvedi and Ginter are very good, Neuhaus, Kramer and Zakaria offer a decent base in midfield, Plea and Stindl can offer a lot too, both very talented players. They do have a rather bloated squad though, so maybe clearing the decks and adding some youth will be a good way to go.

Great step up for a great promising coach like Rose and he inherits a talented team with money to make some moves. Getting into the CL places will be the goal for him.

Also with noting that he has a lot of ties to Salzburg and a lot of their top talents might want to play for him again in Germany which can only be good for Borussia.

I'm really struggling to balance my desire for Bosz to make his style work with my desire to see Schalke drop down into the relegation playoff and not get off easy.

I was only watching this for Dortmund to lose. I'm tuning out now.

Sancho is incredible, though, it has to be said.

 understand what you mean.
Normally, Schalke has to go down to 2. Bundesliga. They are so lucky, that in this year there are such weak teams in the league, its unbelievable how worse the football is from places 14 and below.

What an absolutely horrible performance from Dortmund in that second half, one of the worst I've seen them play this season. Burki was a hero with a triple save on the goal line when Mainz looked certain to equalize.

Dortmund are completely shot mentally and physically, if they can't comfortably beat an average Mainz team at home they will definitely drop more points in the next games.

Indeed! They keep getting away with shit performances lately. I've no idea how this game didn't end 1-1. Where was their midfield/attack in the second half?

Dortmund very lucky to escape with three points. Reus's miss shortly before Mainz's goal could have been extremely costly. Bayern still has work to do, but atm Dortmund doesn't look like a team that can handle a late title race.

Bürki has been a rock for them this season, among their most important players imo.

Coman scored to put us ahead and back to top.

And he scores again. 2-0 to us at half time.

That was a massive chance for Frankfurt to get the 4th place.

I still have hopes for a cracking Schalke vs Stuttgart game on the last Matchday......of course Stuttgart must pick up some points in the next games because it's possible Schalke will get only 1 point in the next four games (Hoffenheim H/Dortmund A/Augsburg H/Leverkusen A).
