Like I said would happen
I can tell you're really not a fan of pogba which is very understandable. I too don't see him finishing his career here either for a multiple of reasons. His current demands for wages of 500,000 is already insane to me and he isn't worth that amount ever. However I feel if we were to get rid of him, now would not be the best time. We need to make sure he leaves when we have a better team in the works. As inconsistent as pogba is we really don't have any other midfielders that can win games on their own. The current replacements Im hearing about don't really excite me that much either. We need to hold unto him for at least another season with ole while strengthening the club before we figure out if we really need him or not.

Not saying you said it at the time, you probably didn't

I find it very interesting how when Mourinho was here, the narrative was, "Oh we should be doing much better! We have the players!" and now it's, "Look at the shit Pogba has to play with! We're not good enough"
Sorry but that's bollocks. Almost everyone agreed that the squad wasn't good enough. Jose was sabotaging the club to try and force Woodward to back him or sack him. It was the the sevilla comments. He played crap football and was constantly criticising our best players while refusing to criticise or drop his underperforming favourites. This resulted in us being almost out of the top four race by December. That's why we wanted him sacked.

No, I just dont like how the club is run regardless of who the manager is.

People wanted him gone even when we were second so that’s not being very honest. They said we had the players to do better than we were.

Supporters wanted him gone when we finished 2nd. Some even after the EL final.

The Sevilla comments were ridiculous, even by his standards

Sell Pogba for 140m

Buy Tielmanns 40m, Partay 45m, Bruno Fernandes 55/60m

Become a much much better team and haven't spent much money at all.

same here. I dislike his demeanor and approach to games when things aren't going as planned but I can't see him leave at a time when we need QUALITY. I don't think I can stomach him leaving before Ashley young and others. It's just not right I feel. I do want to see him leave at some point because he has been very disrespectful to the club on numerous occasions but now isn't the time.

I think now is the time to cash in. He's such a primadona. Where he's been the last 6/7 games? Gone back to useless Pogba.

I have had enough of him. Can be incredible on his day but he has far too many bad days. Not a patch of Scholesy and never will be. He's missing that incredible consistency our ginger genius had.

If we could get 140m we could potentially buy 3 midfielders with that cash. I think we should do it as we aren't winning the title next year with or without him. This is a rebuild job now.

To be completely honest, most narratives under Jose were completely pointless.(that doesn't mean the above are) The place was so toxic that only the negative aspects of the player's abilities were visible.

On Pogba, I'm not prepared to call him another "Nani" yet. Nani played in a team that won a lot of stuff and was still inconsistent.

Until Paul does the above I'm not judging. I think people confuse him too much with the catalyst of making the team win a lot of stuff. He's no Messi or Cristiano. A team doesn't win stuff or play good stuff based on the performances of a single player, but that player being an active social media person and earning a lot of money usually makes him the scapegoat.

Paul is not an issue nor a success at the moment, nothing is definitive. What's certain is the lack of quality in certain key positions on the field that makes the team look and play bad football.

I just hope people will be able to see the situation from the neutral corner than the crazy united fan one. On his good day Paul's level is Barca/Real as opposed to Smalling, YOung, Matic and Herrera who, let's be honest, are everton/arsenal players.

In a simple phrase, here's what gets on my nerves. When a team plays good, everybody is alright, everybody gets the merits. When the team plays badly it's more of Pogba's fault on this forum and it's a bit disgusting. (We can replace Pogba with any other player in the squad. I was doing the same mistake with Lukaku a few months ago)

Both bolded statements have an element of truth in them but Jose's presence around the place didn't excuse the following facts:
- we had Tony and Young as main RB's (look at City's)
- we have no natural RM (look at, dunno, every fecking one in the league?)
- we have one of the slowest players in the league at CDM
- we have Ander at RM, playing along Matic and offering absolutely nothing when attacking (you just can't have two players that don't do anything on the attacking phase and hope Pogba or Rash or Martial will suddenly come up with something)
- we have only one decent and modern CB
- we have no "natural" goal scorer in our team

Should Joses's team fight for top 4 considering that Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal were doing it, yes, of course, the lineup was decent enough for top4. Should the lineup compete for titles with any manager at the helm? Hell no and this is something that fans should see with their own eyes.

Ole came in and raised the place, woke up a few of the players and make them push forward, almost forced them to do so. It worked for a while and now teams found us out. The lack of quality around the place will start to be more and more obvious again.

In simple English, people that want Pogba gone are absolutely out of their minds. Let's remove our best player from the team just because he doesn't perform each game to godly levels of impeccable football. It's a bit of a rant, sorry, but some common sense wouldn't do harm around here.

Currently runs through 2021 with a club option to extend it a year further
That is surprising, there is nothing to worry about whichever way this goes!

No need for United to even plug in the fax machine if they want to keep him.

If they were to entertain the idea of selling Paul then set his valuation at 200 million aka 2 Morata’s.

Win/Win

"keep the Jose flag flying"

Seriously, if anyone brings Jose's name, Jose fans say he is gone and we should move on.

When there is a dip in form, Jose fans bring his name. Not sure for what cause.

At least Jose has got loyal fan base.

I dont think youll find a great many people who think that Jose should still be here. What you will find is a lot people that said he wasnt the only problem. Thats when the pogba boys and woodward wankers come out with that "jose fans" nonsense. The message from the majority of the "jose fans" has always been 'Its not just Jose.'. 15 minutes of good stuff, score a goal, then hold out for the one nil win while playing absolute shit for 75 minutes. Sounds like just about every Jose game this season, right? Nope, Im talking about that wolves game. So if we are going back to playing like that now, and Jose is nowhere to be seen. Its pretty clear that what was said at the time was true. 'Its wasnt just Jose.'. Why any of his haters are bringing him up I have no idea. Its pretty strange to blame the guy thats been gone for four months. It would be even stranger to blame the new guy, and still hold out praise for the players and the upper management that are now the only common denominator in the problem with united. It wasnt just moyes. It wasnt just LVG. It wasnt just jose. And it wont be just be Ole.
How is it true when we have league winning form since he was sacked and with him we were fighting with likes of Brighton, Bournemouth, Everton. How anyone can say nothing has changed when the ppg is as much as City's and more than Liverpool's?

According to Jose, it takes few years to undo the work of Van Gaal, wonder how many years it will take to reset and remove all the shit installed by Jose. So much money spent, 2.5 years and still squad is unbalanced and our fitness levels are poor.

I don't think anyone said it was just Jose alone, it was that he was the biggest factor.

Sad day if yet again we lose a potential world beater of a player because we couldnt work out how we manage him. All the top teams are full of challenging personalities and simply buying 11 Michael Carrick's because they are easy to manage wont win you the title.

It would be dreadfully sad if Pogba was an actual world beater but he isn't is he?
I ready accept that he has the potential to perhaps one day be a world beater, because he has an incredible physique and great talent. However, that's topped off by his daft head that has a very small brain that seems to have got stuck at the mental age of 8 and is mostly engaged in thinking about himself, who he might like to play for (other than us) where he'll win something, wondering if he should make the effort to play football like the professionals do for half a game, thinking if he should maybe do a trick or two for his fan club or maybe just switching off and disappearing because he can't be arsed (there are games where it's difficult to even spot him on the pitch!).

I've heard the drooling about his potential for years now but occassional little glimmers of promise are not to be confused with the week in week out of never dimming hard graft that, added to incredible talent, make the real world beaters what they are.

Added thought is that he's 26 and should be hitting his peak about now . . so I'm guessing his general meh level of football is pretty much beyond discussions of future potential.

He cost us well over £100million, if you include agents fees and taxes, and we were all excited to get him back at that cost because we had hope that he might be worth it but he's not been anywhere near worth it has he?

Yeah, the overrating of Xavi has to stop. I mean, if we're honest, how often didn't we think "ah, well - another stinker from Xavi" after a Barca game.

Erratic passing, stupid decisions, jogging around aimlessly - that's Xavi for you alright, let's not romanticize here.

It will be, but at the same time he hasn't played at a World Class level for a good chunk of his time here, and we have always had the sense that he has a lack of loyalty to the club. If we got £150m i'd take that and buy Saul and Ruben Neves which would give us more balance anyways.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
I hope the article posted on here earlier is true and the club are concerned with his performances recently. We can't afford to think about building a team around Pogba anymore, because he's been too inconsistent for too long and his effort is questionable.

I never thought I'd say any of that and really wanted Pogba back here, but what a let down he has been. I just say it how it is, the same with Martial and other players. Only clueless fan boys can't see the problems with some of our players.

Funny that. Prime Carrick with a more industrious midfielder would be perfect for Pogba imo. Have a feeling we don't look for a Carrick type though.

can Real afford Hazard and Pogba in same window. I'd say both clubs would be looking at least 100 mill on each player

We need a rebuild but imo if Pogba has to leave, we should let him go next year. If we manage to get a good cn rb cm and rw this year, the players we actually really badly need, we will have a very strong basis and we can then replace pogba next year. Imagine needing those 4 players and a pogba replacement!

Allowing Pogba to be sold would be one of the biggest mistake United could make. He's not someone you let go of, he's one of the first you put on the team sheet with the understanding that he will shine when you've rebuilt the team to have other world-class players around him. Reading some of the posts on here, you'd think Pogba is the one player dragging the team down and that he's the only inconsistent player. No, Pogba is a player that's not going to drag an average midfield/team to a trophy, but he is an incredible piece to have when you get world-class players he can work with.

To sell Pogba to get 2-3 players in return might seem like a good idea, but I feel it'd be a lateral move at best. If there's no need to sell any players to fund this summer, then that's great (especially if they can get rid of Sanchez), but if the club needed to raise funds then I'd sell Rashford before I sold Pogba, any day of the week. Because of his age and talent, he can fetch a good sum of money and I don't think he's good enough to be part of a title-challenging team just yet (but too good to be sitting on the bench as well), but the hype makes him a valuable asset.

I don't think anyone said it was just Jose alone, it was that he was the biggest factor.
This is what I remember as well from that very toxic time on here.

Real will buy Hazard and Eriksen this summer because their contracts have one year left. Pogba on the other hand will cost too much money so my guess is he will stay next season.

I have a funny feeling telling me if Lukaku leaves then Pogba would want to leave as well, don't they have that kind of friendship or bond.

Anyways, if Pogba doesn't want to be here and dreams of playing for Madrid, then we'll have to let him go. Much like what was said about Ronaldo during his transfer away, we can't hold him hostage. I would happily bring in Rodri and Bruno with the money that we receive for Pogba.

That was how it was and in the heat of the moment there might be few posts saying Jose alone is the factor, but most of the time it was always "Jose isn't alone but he is the biggest factor".

If Pogba doesn't step up his game towards the end of the season and really wants to go to Real, I see no reason to keep him here against his will. Of course we have to play hardball with Real and squeeze every possible penny out from the deal, but if Pogba doesn't bother about Manchester United I don't want him here. An unmotivated Pogba is destructive for our game, while we replace him a lot of class for 150-200 mill pounds. However, if he shows that he does care and that he want to contribute in taking the club back to the top, he is more than welcome to stay.

Since SAF left, Ive seen us genuinely play some of the worst football in 45 years of going to OT. Im not sure we can fairly judge any players contribution during this period. Its not Golf or Tennis where its all about you and the games outcome, and sorry if Moyes had signed Messi, do you think we'd have seen the same player at Barca?

I'm a paul pogba fan but if real come in for him i would use the money to help rebuild united's midfield
Or how about we keep Pogba, and use the money we already have to build an even better midfield? Yeah.. that'll work.

Upgrade Matic and Herrera for people that can run properly and we will be fine.

I get it but its no fluke that the best players look world class when playing with other world class players. Also its amazing how some players look good when wearing another shirt.
Despite his current poor form, how many goals and assists from Midfield this season? All the backdrop of Jose era, the fall outs, benched and us generally playing defensive football?

No lets not, lets blame him instead when the other two players would currently struggle to get into the Southampton midfield. Lets sell our biggest assets on and off the field to one of our European rivals who commercially will recoup the money in shirt sales alone, sound familiar ...CR7, Beckham and RVN?

In the periods we have played good football he has risen to the top and been far and away our best player, and arguably the best player in the league. When we have been poor he has been inconsistent, sometimes being brilliant sometimes looking like he doesn't want to be there. He clearly is as good as we think he can be but he is not Maradona, he can't do it all on his own, and I can't think of another situation where a player that good is in a team as inconsistent as this one. And before you say he should be the one pushing us on, it's impossible in the modern game to be a one man midfield. It's become a game of specialists, Pogba is the creative force and he needs a controlling, defensive presence next to him, and plenty of movement ahead of him. When he has had that, he has been unstoppable.

I do agree with you that he seems to be extremely immature and incapable of handling adversity, but i think that's probably just something that comes with the modern star footballer. The best prospects are plucked from real life in their early teens and never have to learn to handle things not going their way. I think Pogba's personality is going to increasingly be the norm.
