Funny that. Prime Carrick with a more industrious midfielder would be perfect for Pogba imo. Have a feeling we don't look for a Carrick type though.
Its funny cause reading the forums then, he certainly wasnt held in high esteem as when he left. I agree he would have been perfect for Pogba....

No lets not, lets blame him instead when the other two players would currently struggle to get into the Southampton midfield. Lets sell our biggest assets on and off the field to one of our European rivals who commercially will recoup the money in shirt sales alone, sound familiar ...CR7, Beckham and RVN?
Luckily the club have their heads screwed on. If Pogba requests a transfer then fine we will have to accept it, but I really don't think he's desperate to leave.

If the club can show ambition this summer and sign some proper players to help him, he will be happy. If we fail to do that and don't get close to win anything, he will leave - what player wants to stay at an average team?

Ideal situation is Pogba stays, improves his performances and we buy quality players in the summer in midfield. The only problem is if we build the team around him, his performances remain inconsistent then he leaves for a reduced fee the following year. Means we have to rebuild again and somehow in this day and age make a financial loss for one of the worlds most sought after players. Hopefully it's the former.

When Fergie was here: Pogba, Pogba, Pogba.
When Jose was here: Pogba, Pogba, Pogba
While Ole is here: Pogba, Pogba, Pogba

It gets tiring.

I hope we can get him to just focus on delivering the quality we know he can for us rather than all these distracting dramas

Yes, they will absolutely sell the 6.5 billion jerseys required to recoup the transfer money. Easy mode.

This might be the first time a United player uses either Madrid or Barca to get a bigger contract at United. Might make a few enemies in the process though, more if he keeps dropping 3/10s every week.

nah, a lot of players have done that. Rooney toyed with leaving us for his bumper contract, Rio did I think too - admittedly not to Madrid or Barca but still to rival clubs

I don't think he's very high on that list though.
Au contraire, I think he’s top of the pile. It would seem he plays poorly then wants out because we’re not challenging for trophies etc, if he was playing out of his skin and dragging this team up by it’s lapels I’d get his supposed ire and wanderlust but he ain’t pulling up any trees and his constant subliminal messages during international breaks/pre season about wanting to play for Madrid/Zidane/Barcelona/ which ever city his fat feck of an agent is eating in is a little galling to say the least.

If he wants out, get a fair price and thanks for the memories but let’s face it the memories have been few and far between.

So the fact that Pogba is a world-cup winner makes him great? By that logic, Messi and Ronaldo are not because they haven't won one between them. Yet again he was OK for 45 minutes and totally anonymous for the other half in the Barca game. He can go right now for all I care.

Id get rid of him at this stage.. If he want to go, don't let the door hit you on the way out. His performances recently have been too poor for too long.

He's just proving to be a player that cant be trusted to build a team around.. goes missing way too much when he cant be bothered. And if this report about falling out with Ole is anything to go by, causing more trouble than good.

Id swap for Bale, & splash out on a new top CM

Spanish media are dogs. I like the way he handled it.

Still, they managed to turn “it’s a dream playing against Barca in the CL.” And “I’m only here to talk about the match” into “I want to play in el clasico”

Mourinho's fault though... Pogba never has issues with managers...
so we are just taking any report from anywhere at face value now? why are people so intent in vilifying this guy?

I didn’t directly check if le Parisian is actually the source, but they’re relatively reliable. It’s not like Marca who have a set agenda.

Me too. I don't see a club coming in with the "right price" though, but for Varane+Isco/Asensio I'd be very pleased.

I don't think he has the mentality to be anywhere near as good as he should be. He is and will be as good as he wants to be.

I think we will be lucky to get 100M for him and with Hazard bound for RM am not sure Pogba's destination will be the Bernabeu. That probably leaves Juve,PSG & Barca who can afford him. However we should certainly not be offering any increased contract terms based on his average performances to date.
Sooner we can be rid of the parasitic Mino the better!

Those comments about Real Madrid don't bother me as much. I don't want him to go and I'm sure you'd rather keep him as well but he probably just wasn't made for the current situation we find ourselves in as a club. Now if he does sign a new deal , I still don't see him (as you mention yourself) as this leader who's going to drag us through games by himself (maybe he'll never be this kind of player) but he'll at least want to be part of the solution.

 you're worse than the Russian fake news on Facebook

Look at the account, who's reporting it "le parisien"

Pogba and Ole are 2 of the most relaxed people about. I can't see them falling out at all.

Le Parisien is an actual paper. Now maybe someone has the paper version but there is nothing about Pogba on LeParisien at the exception of a fantasy video where Sévérac creates a sort of PSG dream team that includes Pogba, De Gea, De Ligt and Coutinho.

He is literally a World Cup winner.
Yes, well done for quoting the obvious, give y'self a big pat on the back and a high five . . .

However, for your education, please do note that I didn't say he wasn't a world cup winner . . and that is key to you understanding that your comments were as wide of the mark as a Pogba showboat pass (up in the 3rd tier and nowhere bear intended.
The opinion that I put across was that he has a great physique and ooodles of talent but that he doesn't have the heart, the attitude or the brain to be a world beater because he's a lazy arse, he doesn't want to play for us (he wants a big team that wins stuff) and he has a mental age of about 8.

Now, over to you to correct me on something else I didn't write about - then you can go pat your own back again and give yoursef another high five you little genius you!

If you were him, you would leave probably.

Real will be recriting some top players and contending on all fronts again next season.

It's really hard to see us becoming a top team again any time soon.

The French media are almost as desperate for this move to happen than Real Madrid / Marca. Take it all with a massive pinch of salt.

Much as I'm not a big Pogba fan, feck trial by media. The team were pretty poor yesterday, particularly in attack. The blame for that doesn't lie squarely with an AM, it's a team game. He's in bad form but he's also been blistering at times this season. Let's see how he gets on in the summer and hopefully we can judge him with some better players around him next year.

We've lost far better players than Pogba before guys. If he leaves I won't lose any sleep. He's world class for 4-5 games then bang average for another 4-5, then absolutely dross for 2-3. That's not a world class player. He's just not got the consistency to do it week in week out for us.

If Real Madrid offer us 9 figures for him this summer, I'd take the money and run personally. There are players around Europe like Bruno Fernandes and Joao Felix etc who could do what he does for us. We could probably get 2-3 new players in for what we'd get for him too.

9 figures? Isn't that a bit too much?

Exactly my point, you're spreading fake news stories by troll accounts. You haven't even checked this story is real.

Rossi is so desperate for it to be true bless him. Pogba is here to stay :)

I offered to donate money to a charity of your choice if he's still here next season but, you didn't take me up on it so your false public showing of confidence in the man's loyalty is misguided at best, delusional at worst

I'm not desperate for it to be true at all, I'm just being realistic. Clear as day he wants to go. I just have no time for footballers who behave like him.
That's my opinion on him and it will only change if he goes and plays the way you tell me and everyone else he apparently does.

Like it or lump it, I judge United midfielders against the likes of Keane, Scholes, Robson and even the likes of Carrick. In comparison to those, he has been fecking gash
