We have to play Everton away and then also Chelsea and City at OT where we are invariably poor. I don't think we will be anywhere near top four come the end of the season. It would be easy to write this off as a dire performance on a par with the Sacked One. But, how many prem games have been dreadful when we’re looking for a top performance in the CL? This has been a common outcome over decades and not something to get overwhelmed by. I predicted 2-1 in an ugly win and it was. We played without gusto or guile against a team that has a couple of decent players. We certainly miss a player like Chico, his finesse made Lukaku look clumsy. Pogba sensed the gravity of the situation and scored without the stuttering run up. Mata was a bit lively while Jesse was underwhelming. Rojo made a few poor plays but came up with a half decent shot. I think we can still stagger into 4th spot but it’s going to be very painful watching from here on.
The guy's amazing, isn't he? Either taking a piss or went on a piss and is now having a hell of a hangover. Why are you quoting your own messages? This has to be the strangest thing ive seen on the Caf today
Can't blame Greenwood for that though. Players just weren't giving him the ball. It's great that we bring on youngsters, but if they contribute nothing, I'm not sure what the benefit is.
Because I’m an old fart who doesn’t really know how the interweb computer thing works. Why are you quoting your own messages? This has to be the strangest thing ive seen on the Caf today
Jose's winning/drawing rate was quite decent. It was only this season when things fell apart for well documented reasons.Under Mou we wouldn’t have won! I’m convinced.
You can improve from winning games when you know you might have got away with it. You can’t when you’re already beaten before you step on the pitch! Under Mou it was the latter
Yet we won it.We'll start dropping points if our performances don't pick up.
That was awful.
Might be one of the worst seasons of performances at Old Trafford I've seen.
Agreed3 points. That's all. Happy for Fred to see him improving his form. If we finish in top 4 this season, it would be unbelievable and Ole deserves a knighthood.
Massive summer ahead.
I think it was as bad as people are saying.Missed the game yesterday due to picking my daughter up from uni. Was it really as bad as folk are saying in here or just normal overreaction? Were there any positives apart from the 3pts?
I recorded the game but i don't think i'll bother. We seem to be really struggling at home atm, much better away when we can play on the counter more.I think it was as bad as people are saying.
They had a goal wrongly called offside, smashed the bar, De Gea made a wonder save. For most of the 2nd half especially they controlled the game, they had like 58% possession at one point
On the other hand we created very, very little. Two penalties and a good rashford shot from a tight angle was all their keeper had to do.
The passing in particular, was just appalling.
In my opinion his lack of effort, mentality, drive etc makes him average. You can't have one without the other. He isn't average. He is talented no doubt but lacks an ounce of intensity and consistency. So easy to dishearten and make a no mark. It's a puzzle after his first great season.
Fixed.Our team is shit.
We're hanging on in the fight for 5TH thanks to luck.
We didn't play well but won... But recently we have played much better and lost, so we deserved a bit of luck, and people are being a bit OTT with it all.Missed the game yesterday due to picking my daughter up from uni. It's all his fault even though the players are shite? And we've just lost 4 in 6...Mourinho had them picking up 26 points from 17 games. The players arent good enough to challenge for the title but are top 4 level. So yes, of course it was Mourinho fault because he threw everyone under the bus and made the situation 100x worse. Nobody was under any illusions or thought they should win the title.
What is "all" though? The fact we are most likely going to miss out on top 4? Mourinho. It's his fault we had 26 from 17. The players arent good enough to win the title, nobody is under any illusion there. But they were miles better then what we showed under Mourinho, as we've showed since Ole took over both in performances and results. We havent been playing like title winners but weve pretty much on the whole been playing like a top 4 team which is our level. There really isnt any need to be dramatic. No player can keep up a ridiculously high level of consistency other than Ronaldo and Messi. United went on a long unbeaten and winning run under Ole. Now we hit a rough patch in form to even things out a little (especially considering the fixtures). Was always going to happen. It's all his fault even though the players are shite? And we've just lost 4 in 6...
Right OK...
Cheers mate, i did think it would be a bit of overreaction mixed in with frustration of our home performances when i started reading the thread tbf. I personally think that results are more important than the performances at this time, hopefully then have a good transfer window and a full pre season and kick on next season. Top 4 has to be the target irrespective of performances. I'd snatch your hand off for 5 1-0 wins to finish the league season. We didn't play well but won... But recently we have played much better and lost, so we deserved a bit of luck, and people are being a bit OTT with it all.
I mean we didn't have Shaw or Rashford starting... Two of our best players this season.
Martial and Mata were poor but both smartly won penalties that won us the game (yet you'll still read on here they "did nothing"). Fred, Jones and Smalling continued to be decent and Pogs was a bit better then he has been of late... So yeah, it's hardly all doom and gloom.
