Your prediction. Made me laugh.
We're not all in the comfortable position you are, supporting two of the most succesful clubs in world football. Your team will advance either way, lucky you

Ask the Liverpool fans on here how much I dream about them winning. I'd like nothing more than Messi putting Van Djik to the sword.

But they're easily good enough to beat Barca over two legs if they are at their best. They're a bitch of a team to play for anybody and battling at the top of the PL for a reason.

If you think it would be an easy tie for Barca, you're the one dreaming. This Liverpool team can give anybody in Europe a game.

How does this work @Casanova85 ???

Are you supporting United or Barca in the CL? How did you end up supporting two super clubs?

nope literally zero replacement. only options are Blind to left back but then break up our defensive pairing, with magallan taking his cb spot, which was what we did against Feyenoord and lost 6-2. Other option would be playing Sinkgraven there who did well in that position under Bosz but has then been out for a year and a half with an injury and is an unknown quantity at this point though hasn't impressed in the few minutes he's been given (such as the second half in that 6-2 loss...)

The third option and the one I suspect will be Ten Hag's choice will be the usual right back Mazraoui, who was suspended tonight, as left back with veltman staying as the right back. Tagliafico is incredibly important defensively and offensively for keeping the width (bombed up there tonight as well) and we're going to be missing that massively whichever option we go for
Don't you think he will move Blind to LB, Mazraoui back on his own spot and Veltman on his natural spot on CB?

i definitely hope not. veltman hasn't been a cb for years and when he cameos there nowadays its far below par. Also simply splitting your centreback pairing is risky and has ended disastrously almost every time for us this season. Blind at LB also doesn't add any of the width further up that is essential to Ten Hag's system

I have only watched Ajax for 120 mins in whole season but from what i have seen, i feel your team runs alot maybe even more than City, Liverpool and Spurs. That enables you guys defend from the front though as good as you have been you guys only had 76 or 79 % passing accuracy i guess, basically you team is giving away ball twice for every 10 attempted passes. I am surprised a team with ronaldo in their ranks failed to capitalize on those loose balls. I feel it is also down to tremendous amount of work every individual put in that made it hard for Juve. But every one of those loose balls can result in goal for juve and ronaldo will only need one.

Ajax's biggest problem was that they struggle to create higher quality chances from within the D. But i feel Ajax will score a wonder goal from outside the box because of sheer amount of shots your forwards are gonna take. I feel this strategy of taking shots at any chance you get is less risky albeit less rewarding than try to create a chance in the D because if you gave away the ball, Juve can put Ronaldo or other pacy wingers in really good situations on the counter.

United players will be knackered enough after today's match.

Spurs having an extra days rest on City could be important. Is it true they rested some players too? Will be interesting to see if Pep does the same vs Palace though I doubt it.

Sterling looking absolutely knackered against palace today, unsurprisingly. Spurs might not win their league game next Saturday but can genuinely qualify for the semis.

Cant play B Silva against Son or Moura's pace so sterling has to start on Wednesday.

Yes it's the same for both clubs but i agree with him and i have never understand UEFA's point about the schedule........1st leg should be on Tuesday and the 2nd leg should be next Tuesday.
Very likely TV issue. For instance, our public TV shows CL, but only one match on Wednesday, so, to have different teams showcased every week, they use that schedule.

Yes, I think this is correct. It's been this way for a very long time.

Of course it's changed in the UK now but traditionally it tended to be the case that ITV would have the 1st leg of a tie on a Tuesday and Sky would have the 2nd leg on a Wednesday, with another tie working vice versa.

I think there was often an effort to alternate too, so if ITV had the second leg of a Manchester United quarter-final then Sky would probably have the second leg of the semi-final.

Whilst this isn't relevant in the UK any more because of BT having all the games, I think there are still countries around Europe that operate a sharing policy.

Of course, if one PL team played both legs Saturday-Tuesday and another played both legs Saturday-Wednesday you can bet that one manager would moan about that too - perhaps even both of them for different reasons!

To think that every single team in the PL ‘Big 6’ are still fighting for European glory with one month left of the season. Shows how strong we are now.

I think the Liverpool tie would be the most difficult pair of fixtures we've had this season. I'd be more confident beating any opponent in the Final than beating Liverpool in the semis. If we meet, I'd put the odds 55-45 in Liverpool's favor.

This would be it. It's been like this for a long time now, TV stations switch matchdays to make sure they can all get their piece of a big European match-up. I prefer it this way as you never know what the situation will be with the TV stations.

I'd put the odds 55-45 in your favour. It'd be a great match, and let's be honest, it's very likely to happen at this point. Really can't wait for it. As good as our CL run has been, we've only faced one proper team in Bayern Munich (hard to get excited about games against Napoli/RSB/Porto, no offence to fans of those teams), so a chance to play Barca would be awesome.

So Liverpool can rest players but not get complacent:

Allison, Milner, Lovren, VvD, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Hendo, Shaq, Origi, Salah, Mane

Take off Salah and Mane quickly if we have scored at least one.

Yeah but who gives a shite about PSG? I was so disappointed when that draw was made. Sure, they're a good team, but they're still nobodies. I would've much rather had Bayern/Juve/Real/Barca in the group - a proper club.

Ajax to qualify for the semi-finals tonight  2-2 on the night, 3-3 with more away goals on aggregate.

What's everyone feeling about that & the United game?

No Chiellini or Mandzukic for Juve, both out injured. It's insane how many injuries they have had this season, feels like there are 2 or 3 starters out for very game.

Lack of Chiellini is why I think Ajax have a real strong chance of qualifying. Ajax aren't going to sit back like Atletico & play like asshats for 90 minutes. Betting on both teams to score seems like an absolutely safe best, cuz you know Ronaldo will be up for it.

Spurs are without Alli and Kane no? Whatever happened to Lamela? Im just assuming he is injured, like he seems to be 90% of the time, just like Winks. Spurs thin on the ground, who is actually fit for them?

Fecking hell, when we got to Istanbul we cheered and sung in every game. We didn't know we were going to get there but we believed. That's right, we cheered Jerzy Dudek, Djimi Traore, Igor Biscan and Vladimir fecking Smicer. Get some backbone.

I actually think you're reaching the semis more than Utd fans on here. And that's not a wind up, I've been saying it since the PSG game.

Alli will play with a cast on and Winks should play as well, he felt his groin and was rested on Saturday as a precaution.

So no Kane, Lamela, Aurier or Dier which is pretty good going for us all things considered :D

Also hope for Ajax to pull this off. For Barca-United I don't see another epic comeback coming.

Juventus will handily outplay Ajax. You've got to have Messi or Ronaldo to beat Juve nowadays (or Fellaini ). They ended up buying one of them, they are basically cheating.

As a Barca fan I fear Liverpool more than any other team remaining by a wide margin. Barca have a poor away form in CL and with the first leg being at Camp Nou, I think the advantage will got Liverpool. I think Liverpool will be going to the Final again this year.

Ajax won't sit back & play like Atletico did, and with Cheilini out, I think they'll score. It's going to be a cracking game!

It all depends on the league for us. If we weren't going for the league & could focus on the CL (like last season), I think we'd have the edge over two legs. As it stands, it's a lot closer.

Either way, Liverpool vs Barcelona in a CL semi-final sounds fantastic, and I really look forward to the game... Should we both progress :D

You can hardly call what Atletico did as sitting back. They were an utter shambles in the 2nd leg, left spaces all over the pitch and couldn't make simple passes. Bernadeschi had free reign which would not happen if Atletico were sitting back. They were just horrible in every aspect.

It will be a cracking game, but I've never seen Aleggri mess up a two-legged tie tactically. He adapts fantastically in the 2nd leg. Of course they can still lose, but it's probably gonna need a big mistake from his players.

I don't think Allegri did anything too impressive. If anything, Simeone's tactics were more important to Juve going through than his own tactics  Griezmann spent half the match closer to his goal than Chiellini did. It was stupid from Atletico, who really should've made it through that tie.

Juve without Chiellini, without the urgency to attack-attack-attack against a team that will have no fear hitting them back... I'd not be surprised to see elements of overly-pragmatic Allegri come into play. I really think both teams will score, and I do hope Ajax progress, but I won't begrudge Juve a win at all. Douglas Costa masterclass incoming? :D

Not only that. Spurs having the extra day, but they just played to home matches, whereas City were in London last Wednesday, probably went back up North and returned for the Palace game on Sunday and went back up North, have a feeling Spurs will win, and probably draw over the weekend.

Spurs rested some key players too I think whereas Pep used a very strong team vs Palace. I have a feeling Spurs will go through but will lose at the weekend. An away goal for Spurs is a must if they want to go through as I can't see it being 0-0.
