Gerard Lopez, Lille president reckons Pepe will leave at the end of the season.

He’s entering a salary bracket that they can’t meet.
50million?

When the club is willing to sell a player, deals are wrapped up pretty quickly and often well before the summer window starts. If we are interested, we need to start negotiating now.

He'll probably end up at Bayern, Juve or Arsenal while we'll be getting Gareth Bale

Is he any good @JPRouve? Sorry to ask you but you seem to give balanced opinions on players playing in France

What position does he play?
Goal scoring right winger. 19 league goals, 11 assists and probably 3rd or 4th best player in Ligue 1 this season.

Obviously not the strongest league, but I think its far to say a lot of the good young talents that have emerged in recent years have played in Ligue 1 before moving on.

So he wouldnt be a sure thing to carry on at the same pace in the premier league but hes gotta be in that conversation for players to take a chance on

Oh ok thanks - sounds like a good option if we can't get Sancho

30 goals and assists in the league, that's a superb number.

We don't have a RW and there is this RW who is scoring shit loads of goals and can be signed for decent money. Hopefully we are in for him.

His finishing with his left foot reminds me of Henry.

Clearly not as good as Henry overall (doesn't look as quick for example), but looks to have something about him in terms of his drive and confidence in his own ability.

I think mentality for a United player is something we often overlook. Playing for our club carries a huge weight of expectation and, as we've seen, even some of the most talented players we've had have not been able to handle it.

Pepe's talent is nothing special is it? I agree completely with your point about drive and confidence. He's always trying things, taking players on. He would be my option for our RW, a very good player in my opinion.

He has been good in every seasons played in Ligue 1, personally I like him but as I said in an other thread I would like to see him in a European competition because some players don't up their game against tougher opponents.

He's just say he's 10x more dangerous than Mata/Lingard/Sanchez these days, so we should be signing him no matter what happens.

Sign Pepe/Sancho and we will be scoring goals for fun next year.

Are PSG interested at all?

That strikes me as obvious move tbh.

I've only observed highlights he seems like a left footed version of Zaha, very direct but also resembles having end product.

I think Sancho is a main priority but if we fail to agree a fee I don't see why we should overlook Pepe. Much prefer him over the likes of H.Lozano.

Also factoring in Rashford moving to a central position, we will need someone to cover the left to rotate Martial. We cannot afford to give starting players games week in week out even with their abysmal form. The competition for positions should drive competitiveness to perform. I honestly think we will need two window to see the full extent of capabilities that Ole can offer us.

First time I haven't been impressed based on YouTube. He looks really frustrating and erratic. Poor man's Nani with the drawback of African Nations' Cup?

In the summer now.

Seems Gervinho levels, who wasn’t too bad tbh. Whether he’d translate his form to another league is up for debate.

Not a massive fan personally. And although they are there to be scored, it’s worth noting that approximately half of his goals are from the spot. That said, I’m no scout of course, but I’d prefer better.

I’d rather Pepe than nobody of course!

Tbh with Martial stinking up the place right now it might not be a bad thing giving him some good competition.
I don't think Martial even gets into the team, because in my opinion we are better off without an off centre striker.

Seems like a very obvious signing for us to make. A player in a position we need, 23, his record this season is unbelievable, available to sign for reasonable money.

And for those above reasons is precisely why we won't sign him.

We can't sign him no matter what, and our barometer for a good should not be someone significantly better than Mata. We need someone with genuine quality.

Pepe looks interesting but doesn't seemt to have anywhere near the same level of natural talent as somebody like Sancho. And signing both could cost around 170. Were not spending that much on wingers.

Seems to do alot of unnecessary skill moves. Other than that professional evaluation I know nothing about him and it's my first time watching (youtube) him play.

Nice goal scoring record this season according to Whoscored though. They're also not padding the stats by scoring braces and hat tricks. There is a nice spread throughout the matches played.

I won't be surprised if Woodward ignores Pepe and goes for Sancho and haggles with Dortmund for half the summer until they say no. Then we come back in for Pepe but he has already agreed to join another club.

If you could choose would you go for Sancho for £100 million or Pepe and Hudson-Odoi for a combined £100 million ? No nothing about Pepe other than YouTube clips.

I would go for Pepe for 50m. I don't think it's wise to spend 100m on Sancho. It's too much of a risk. Pepe has been phenomenal all throughout the year. He can play centrally as well when required.

We may find ourselves in a situation few years from now asking ourselves why we didn’t sign Pepe, and complain about Sancho not be world class despite spending twice as much for him.

Or vice versa where we ask ourselves why we signed Pepe when we could get an elite talent in Joao Felix or Sancho.

In my opinion, I rather United sign Sancho and/or Felix. We have to money to buy these talented players and they have a higher ceiling. Sancho stats are impressive in the bundesliga, while Felix is an outstanding prospect.
