On my travels to the Indian Ocean this is what a writer for the local United Mag told me.

He was advised to prepare an article for the transfer of Bale which was 90% done. It concerned me that he was preparing the article rather than an article translated from English to the local langauge for United. I'm not sure what the relationship is between the local Mag and United.

This isn't me winding everyone up, i'm not saying a deal is 90% done, it's just hearsay (which could be local bravado) and should be read as that.

On a personal note, it's gone quiet after the alleged "meeting".
For a write of a local United magazine in the Indian Ocean or Manchester? Either way, sounds like bollocks.

We've found Redcafe's new ITK!

All hail king Sparky.

So if I'm interpreting your posts correctly, Bale is definitely joining us, correct?
Ha ha, no, just that its up to this new manager. If he sees Bale as a key player, they will keep Bale. Given that Madrid don't seem to have brought anyone in yet its looking more likely that he'll want to keep Bale.

He is situated in the indian ocean, the magazine in for the local population, the magazine is a Mancheter United magazine.

He could have said he'd heard about it and ignored the write an article. Who know's if it is BS or not. I'm only passing on what I he said.

Oh I know that, I'm just telling you what he said is likely bollocks.

It's not just the price it's the crazy wages, he'd just be a more useful Sanchez. Good player, but the injuries, age and a more physical league would be too much of a risk.

I would.

I'd replace Lukaku & Sanchez for just Bale. Knock two birds with one stone.

We need that headed goals, free kick goals and long range goals again. Even if we only get that for a 1/3rd of the season - I think it's worth it only if we get rid of the other older winger & the striker that may not be suited to the style we want to play.

I want to see Greenwood and Bale competing for the same spot whilst Martial & Rashford compete for a different spot.

A peak Bale would transform us so much and would probably have a RVP 2012 type of impact but the window of getting prime Bale has well passed

Bonkers that people would want him after Sanchez and how we can't shift him because of wages. Bale would want the same, as i'm pretty sure he's on more now.

There's is no benefit in getting Bale whatsoever. He's finished, crushed, broken, knackered, flattened. I could go on.

Agreed. At one point he would have been our best player by a mile, now he'd be better than what we have on the right, but for how long and how often? We'd be paying him for what he used to be rather than what he is.

He is a much better player than Sanchez. Even with his injuries he is still a very good player (when fit..)

Oh yeah, I don't doubt that, but why when we can't get one huge wage off the books, would we chance getting another on the bill - only for him to potentially not be fit for the full season. That alone should be enough to steer people clear of him.

The reason we’ve been so fecking awful in the transfer market post-Fergie is because we chase signings like this.

Solskjaer should avoid. Plan for the next 5 years, fill the squad with young talent.

Luckily i dont think Ole is stupid enough to want to sign Bale.

I wouldn’t take him even in a swap for Sanchez, we’ve all seen the troubles that Sanchez wages brought us and now bringing an injury prone player at the end of his career with no motivation that will expect to earn 500-600k a week doesn’t look like a smart move.

If he's not looking for Sanchez'esq wages, id take him no bother.. powerhouse of a player, would do well alongside rashford and martial.

No and any Utd fan that wants him should be ashamed of themselves
Let's play some devils avocado.

Let's say you get Bale this summer for £40m and it guarantees you get Sancho next summer or the summer after. How about then?

Feck him. He turned us down in his peak, and would only be coming to get loads of cash to finish his career.

How would signing Bale guarantee Sancho ?that makes no sense .

Besides Bale is a crock whose best days are long gone and who rejected us more than once

The two aren't connected. That's why you play devils avocado.

He can feck right off, he has rejected us multiple times when we've gone for him in the past.

Let him fade into obscurity.

The only way I see us signing him is if we are offered a James Rodriguez to Bayern Munich deal . Him coming on loan on reduced wages with an option of buying him on very reduced transfer value a season or two later .

I'd take him for free on £200k a week, maybe £250k. Beyond that not interested at all.

Or put another way, no sensible deal is ever going to happen!

Haha. Getting Bale would be the most absurd thing we could do with our funds this summer. We might as well self-relegate ourselves to the Championship (since we honestly don't care about competing for the league) or perhaps we could practice some philanthropy and just give that money to charity.

He's better than the shite we have on the RW no doubt but would he really improve us that much in the 10 league games he wouldn't be injured for? I can't stand watching Mata or Lingard out the RW for the majority of the season.

HELLO
30 in July. I thought he was younger!

An ageing, injury plagued player who has relied on his pace in the past, on a massive contract? What's not to like?

If he wants to stay at a top club then he's going to have to settle on a greatly reduced contract.
