Why would it be locked? Ole played right into Barca's hands. Mourinho wouldn't have been so naive.
We started very well. Messi did what Messi does because Young is awful. De Gea then had a howler and the heads dropped. They got some icing on the cake with a world class strike.

The game was lost for two moments in the first 20 minutes and our team lack the mental toughness.

I've no idea how Jose would have fared against PSG (or Barca). In all likelihood he would probably have a super depressed bunch of players spiralling faster down the drain had he stayed on. But he was right in most of his - unfortunately public - assessments of the squad, of most individual players, of the structure of the club.

It doesn't get anymore knee jerk than this.

Ole has been making chicken salad out of chicken shite and currently he's ran out of shite. The team needs to make significant changes in the summer.

Not with this group of players. Its partially Mourinho's fault for the state of the squad.

Mourinho downed tools as soon as he signed a lucrative contract extention. He wasn't settled living in the hotel and he had no interest in developing Martial, Pogba, Lindelof, Fred and Shaw. He started making unrealistic demands like flog Martial in a swap for Alderweireld, started slating the board and his players, blamed everyone but himself for everything in the hope the board would get fed up and pay him his 15 million severance package and show him the door.
Ole can turn it around by signing players with Utd's DNA - Sancho, Rice, Thomas Partey etc while promoting Greenwood and Garner.

He couldn't get us past Sevilla. No point of this thread.

Yeah well done you've all mentioned Sevilla and conveniently forgot he won as many champions Leagues in 6 years than Fergie did in 26.

Did Ole made mistakes in today’s match? Undoubtedly, but dont for a second fool yourself and think that any manager in the world could had beaten Barcelona with the squad we have. They are in another level, not because they are playing great but because our squad is SHIT.

He would have won the CL of course. You are lucky Barca, that we sacked the winning one.

Yeah it can happen but if it doesn’t no one would blame the manager.

Are we seriously putting the blame in Ole for this one?

He had to choose between a 19 year old unexperienced right back and a shitty converted winger to fit into the RB, no option is good but I would had decided for Young as well due to his experience thinking Dalot would be nervous for being a rookie. Of course we now know the result, Young should not play again he is a shithole.

Now regarding the goal gifted in a basket by DDG, how can anyone expected that? What Ole should had done? Play Romero instead?

To beat a better team you need superior tactics, concentration and luck. Tonight we had neither.

Not a hope in hell Mourino could get us through with this squad of payers , fact is no manager in the world could. We over achieved by getting so far with such an average squad of players.

Totally agree.

One of our biggest issues is how fragile we are mentally. We can play good football, we demonstrated it tonight at the start. But as soon as we concede we fall apart in every area of the pitch. Just like Wolves, we were looking sharp, goal goes in against us and our arses go.

Despite OP being on an unsubtle WUM:

- Ole's shite.
- Mourinho should never have been let go.
- Needed Fellaini
- DDG is a fraud and must be got rid of
- Pogba is our worst midfielder

Just some of the amazing Caf conclusions on a night of pure kneejerk!
