Daniel Craig’s version of Bond is the only one that went along with the books. He is up there with Connery. Moore was terrible except Live and Let Die. Brosnan was a joke - not tough enough.
I disagree Goldeneye was one of the best Bond films.
Moore suffered with dreadful scripts, just look at Moonraker , but his films had the best one lines in.

As much as I have enjoyed Craig as Bond - if I’m being totally honest apart from Casino Royale which is one of my favourite Bond films if not my favourite - the rest whilst being slickly produced have been a real let down. I think killing off Eva Green was probably a big reason why Casino Royale was such a good film but her lack of presence made the other films emotionally vacant.. and Craig’s story past that point lacked any emotion or direction.

Fassbender .. something about the guy just doesn’t make me think he’d be the perfect Bond, in my head I’d be watching it thinking that’s Fassbender rather than thinking it’s James Bond. He’s a good actor though that’s for sure but perhaps too famous with too many iconic roles.

My shout would be Tom Hardy .. he’s never quite nailed a proper role where it defines him, but question marks over whether he’s sophisticated enough to pull it off and possibly Aidan Turner. Richard Madden has been brilliant in Bodyguard but not sure if he’s ready for such a jump up just yet.

Aye, hard to disagree. I do like Skyfall, but QoS and especially Spectre were huge let downs. Casino Royale is far and away the best Bond film I've seen, but then I've only ever watched the Brosnan/Craig ones.

Tom Hardy is a terrible choice. He's as annoying as Fassbender.
He’d also never do it. Not without insisting he did some ridiculous indecipherable accent and had several scenes where he shouted VERY VERY LOUD AND EMOTIONALLY at someone or something - potentially another character played by him - at regular intervals. Ideally in a silly wig or something.

Also he’s too short. ‘Cos if we’re quibbling over Bond’s unassailable physical attributes, that should definitely come into play. Also, shit hair. Bond should definitely have good hair. A decade of Craig’s shit haired Bond is more than enough. #BringBackBondBarnets

Why are they listening to Daniel Craig? - I take it he must have had absolutely no input on the smear of loose dog mess that was Spectre then?

I still can't believe how bad that film was, never mind as a follow-up to Skyfall which was pretty good.

Bond Movies should be the shop window for UK talent as they basically kept the British film industry going in the late 70's. I'm not saying they have to have a british director, but I can't believe they lost the chance to have Danny Boyle as director. When they have taken a chance it has paid off. The formulaic movies have been awful.

Summary: To be co-written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (as is the style at the time) also Rami Malek is a creepy dude.

I enjoyed Casino Royale and Skyfall - wasn't too keen on the other two - Spectre was particularly bad and seemed to be an atempt to bring the franchise back to how things had been done prior to Casino Royale which I think was a bad move as the new Bond movies were great BECAUSE they were so different from the standard Bond movies of before.

Four writers? Get ready for a messy plot, I guess?

Die Another Day is on. The frequency in which he tells random people his actual name is hilarious.

That’s the one where the Korean bad guy turns himself into a posh Englishman and fires a laser from space right?

Poor Brosnan had some utterly terrible movies to play his Bond in.
