Constantly at the STD clinic.
Nice hearing about his promising season but the real test will definitely be against premier league level strikers and opposition. High hopes.

Yeah he comes off his line quite a bit. I haven't seen much of him lately but in his academy days he wasn't great on crosses due to being fairly small & slight but he was always quick off his line & always sweeping & was one of the better kicking keepers we've had in a long time
Cheers mate

He has done really well to work his way up. His first loan according to his wiki, was with Stockport county in National League where he made a total of 9 apps, keeping 4 clean sheets within short term loans. The next season, he made 7 apps for Grimbsy Town in League 2 in another short term loan. He started as the 2nd choice goalkeeper, but secured his position as first choice before being recalled mid-season apparently due to injury to Pereira. The next season, he was keeping 19 cleansheets in the League 1 as Shrewsbury Town's no. 1, making 48 apps. He is now arguably one of the best goalkeepers in the Championship with Sheffield United, keeping 19 clean sheets in 44 apps, and his team will most likely be in the Premier League next season.
If there's anyone that deserves a chance with his parent club, I'd say it is him. Obviously, it would be nice to see him in the EPL with Sheffield, but I'd be gutted if De gea leaves and we don't give him a chance.

Let's see how he manages to deal with the pressure of having Jones and Smalling in front of him.

I suspect they are considerably better than any defender he has ever played behind.

Was thinking about that today... DDG's decision making seems to be really bad once he has control of the ball, and that's very coachable. So either the coach isn't doing his job, or can't, or DDG can't learn. Something has to give.
He also scares me on crosses and doesn't command his area. He seems like a poor communicator who relies almost exclusively on reflexes

Do we know if we'll loan him back to Sheffield again next season?

Would love to see him in the PL.

Yet another clean sheet.

This kid has all the mojo DDG lacks.
Whoa! That’s the guy who’s been our best player by a country mile for the last few years and you rank a kid in the championship above him.

DDG is having a bad season but Henderson has a huge task ahead to take over the sticks at OT. Our keepers tend to be internationals.

He could make it but he’s not DDG class
Yet

I think it's likely.

Although Wolves had John Ruddy and got promoted and then signed Rui Patricio!

Not what I said at all. Said he has all the mojo DDG lacks ie he isn’t timid, takes charge and commands his area.

Of course he isn’t there yet but he could be. And quite honestly I don’t care about DDG and the “servant” narrative. He can pull the thumb out or piss off. On current form, wouldn’t be that much of a loss. We’ll carry on.

Sheffield Utd fans seem to think he's excellent but still a little dodgy commanding the box and coming out for crosses. Reminds me of when De Gea first arrived at United to be honest, think Henderson would probably do better sticking at Sheffield Utd for another season assuming the club wants it.

Would love to keep hold of the lad. Bar some stupid errors he has shown great potential at Shrewsbury and Sheffield United, it would be great if we could bring him through into our 1st team in the near future. No idea how he will develop but it would be best for him to be loaned to Sheffield next season and if he impresses, then could step into our team. With DDG looking more likely to leave the club in the coming years, Henderson could be a good successor.

If, IF we were to lose de gea, (I, of course, do not want that) would you guys be happy to go into the new season with Romero as no.1 and Henderson as no.2?

And spend the money where its needed?

It would be ideal to give him another loan at Sheffield in the premier league.

Let him find his feet, if he does great again and De Gea still doesn’t resign, he should get a chance when he leaves.

Exactly. He's not even the best keeper we've had this decade, Van Der Sar is

Congrats to Dean, Sheff Utd officially promoted with the result at Leeds - Villa. Good for him too after loosing the league 1 play off final last year.

Hopefully we continue to loan him out to Sheffield, will be good for him to do a few years there and learn and grow. No need to sell him though.

If ,for whatever reason, DDG decides to leave is Henderson good enough to step up and replace the Spaniard in the first 11 ?
Possibly, but I hope we don't bring him back yet. I think the best case scenario is to give him a season in the PL with Sheffield United. He loves it there, and the fans love him too. They will be far more forgiving if he makes a few mistakes than United fans will be, i'm 100% certain of that.

I have read somewhere earlier in the year that if Dave decides to not sign a new contract, we wont sell him but keep him and lose him for free. That would actually go well with Henderson staying in the PL for a season and then come back.

He said he wants to play for Sheffield in the PL next year, so i think it would also be best to let him stay there, because he really wants it with the spirit being high there and him having a fantastic environment to work and learn in. After next season, he can start his career properly with us as a first team GK member.

Hope he stays one more season on loan to Sheff Utd. No reason to call him back and create entropy in his career

I'm all for giving him another loan at Sheffield Utd. Let him flourish at a place he clearly loves and we'll see if he has what it takes to make it at Man Utd.

Another year on loan makes sense for all parties considered, if De Gea decides against signing a new contract and we lose him on a free, we'll have a year to see how Henderson gets on in the PL and assess whether he's got the potential to start for us.

Henderson seems like he'd be more than happy to make his move to Sheff Utd permanent, and who can blame him.
As long as De Gea is here, young talented keepers won't get a chance, so it makes sense for him to stay there.
I'd love him back with us because I rate him, but he'd want to be no1 which we can't offer him at the moment.

With all the doubt over De Gea right now, he must think he has a chance now. We can't offer him #1 next season or maybe even the season after, but if he continues to improve and we give him the chance to prove himself he'll get it. He has expressed his desire to succeed here so I hope he gets it.
