He really needs to move to a proper team. Don’t care about Neymar, but am a fan of Mbappé.

He’s become a bit of a hissy fit diva since he arrived at PSG, hasn’t he?

Shocking tackle. How can he complain about getting a red card? Imagine how incensed him and Neymar would be on the receiving end of something like that.

He should get an extraordinarily long ban. That was simply just an attempt to hurt and injure another player. There's absolutely no place for that on a football pitch.

The way he walked away off the pitch, like he was entitled to make such a tackle. Its also to soon to say that winning the WC made him a ‘diva’, but tackles like these are unwarranted, even though they do unfortunately occur within football.

I would smash him for that tackle. Didn't think he has that in him, but after all the diving and now this, he looks like a bigger cnut each week.

He may be mature and eloquent off the pitch, but on the pitch he's become quite the cnut tbh.

Does everyne think it was intentional? Was wondering if he tried to shield the ball by shoving his body between it and the defender, a little bit like the Pogba red card against PSG (just much worse, obviously). I mean, his foot definitely didn't move in the direction of the ball and this would explain why he did it. Have a hard time imagining that he'd do something like this intentional and that would be the only other explanation.

He will obviously regret it, but these things always happen when these players are on the losing side and being desperate to win the ball. He obviously didn't think about it too much and went aggressively on that player without clear intention of getting the ball.

Christ, look at the position of his body and how he sticks out his leg, the height, it's pretty damn obvious that he's not trying to place his foot on the pitch in order to get his body between him and the player.

He does and it's not a secret. He is extremely competitive to the point of being probably obnoxious, the guy counts his goals during training and absolutely hate being on the losing side. He sounds a lot like Henry.

Standard 3 match bans just don't cut it for tackles like these. Should be a lengthy ban to set an example for him and the other cnuts

No disrespect but, do you/have you played football?

How anyone who has played the game can see that and think Mbappe went in to do the guy, id never know. It's clear Mbappe is tryna get ahead of the guy and shield the ball.

That's exactly how I saw it. If you are going in to foul someone you would no go in like that.

Who do you know goes in to tackle badly in that body shape, when he is facing the player. The only reason he would twist his body is to try and put himself ahead of the guy.

That might be the worst tackle I've seen this season. Fecking no intention to win the ball, he and PSG would have a petition to get Rennes removed from the footballing league if that were the other way around.

I think a lot of football fans have played some level of football, nowhere near professional obviously, I played football in school and a club on Saturdays, as a defender (right back who often had to shield the ball) I never went at a guys knee studs up like that if I wasnt even remotely confident I'd get the ball first.

You dont begin with your leg that high or that far out either with the opposition player all but guaranteed to get the ball first, to me its clear as day Mbappe tried to leave something on him.

 What the shit are you on about? No one shields the ball with their extended leg that far away from their planted foot. I doubt someone with Mbappe's coordination and spatial awareness is going to get it so wrong, it was clearly deliberate and you must be Mbappe's mother to try and defend it.

It won't help Mbappé but that wasn't the worst between these two teams.

I'm amazed at how you've managed to get this so badly wrong, while at the same time going for the high road with your "played football"

- He has to stretch his leg all the way out to even get his boot close to the ball, there's no way he can even get his body there to shield the ball from where he sticks out his leg, that's hint number 1

- hint number two is the height of which he sticks out his foot and where he's leaning his body.

Shame forums weren't such a big thing when Roy Keane did Alfie, would've loved all the "he just tried to shield the ball with his body" comments.

@UncleBob Looking at his full reaction after the foul. if it was premeditated, I don't think Mbappe reacts like this.

Compare that to Keanes reaction vs Alfie. Its clear who feels hard done by and who doesn't care.

Anyways, i will leave it here. Difference of opinions with a lot of you, id prefer to think Mbappe isn't out to injure people.

I don't see how that could be anything but deliberate. No way near the ball and shaped to tackle the player in a very unnatural way. Terrible challenge and rightly straight red. Should be a long ban too.

Didn't look like it live but on replay it's a clear straight red.

Very similar to Pogba's second yellow against Paris.

I don´t watch L1, but at the WC he has already shown a bad behavior. He is still young, but with 20 years he is not a kid anymore. PSG won´t win the CL anytime soon. When players are bigger then the club, you have big trouble. You can´t buy honor.
