He's a drifter.Tying him down to just one area of the pitch will restrict him.
If United are going to be effective they need players like Ziyech who are constantly on the move ,while also being of a technical high standard with the ball.

You buy Ziyech you need at-least 3 more players on a similar wavelength.

Nah, he's not cut out for the pressure at a club like United. He folds under criticism and is the first to go missing.

Perfect for Ajax, not for this United.

Good player. Our RW already plays centrally which is the area he came into a lot tonight finding good progressive passes to players in dangerous areas

Its almost as if they're headed to the champions league final
Because they're a good team. Not because they're so amazing individually. Also, not having to play anywhere near as many matches as any of the English sides and having the FA on your side rescheduling matches to make sure you're well rested for the CL games helps. De Jong and De Ligt are world class talents, the rest of them are good but nothing special really.

Clearly good enough to play well against Spurs and Juventus

If given the option for me first player i would sign from Ajax would be this guy De ligt more or less going Barcelona and will certainly cost an arm and a leg. Ziyech is not afraid to shoot which all our players are allergic to outside the box great weight of pass and gets you off your seat i am sure we wont cost near the amount of De jong or De ligt get him please Ed Woodbackwards.

He has a release clause of £25 million! (Source)

I haven’t seen him much, but he does look like a great player who can both score and create chances. The stats above are only from the league, but as we can see he scores and assists a lot! He does take a lot of shots though. It says he has only played 13 games which is wrong, he has 27 games in Eredivisie this season, so take the stats with a pinch of salt. 21 assists and 20 goals in all competitions this season is very impressive. He has played almost all of his games as a right forward/right winger so should suit us perfectly. Seems to perform in bigger games too, he honestly ticks all the boxes. I say buy him even if we get Sancho. Having those two as options for the right wing would be incredible.

I think he has a really good quality of passing but lacks something in the final meters, the last good decision that Neres, Mesraoui or Van de Beek seems to have.

He attempted so much. Maybe it was the instructions but against Real, Tottenham or Juve, making the good the shot at the right moment is clearly more intelligent. There was some moments I couldn't understand why he hurried, why he was taking the shoot, trying some unbelievable dribbles. Probably better at the organisation.

But his numbers are good and I can't say I watch Ajax a lot

Don't think anyone will sign him for that amount, price seems to be rising since last nights game with both Spurs and B/Munich showing an interest.

25m quid release clause and I think it would be safe to say he would be a little bit of an upgrade on goal and assist shy Lingard who is ok as he "runs around a bit". If we don't make top 4 I can't see Sancho/Pepe coming to us so this lad or David Brooks would do me rightly.

I haven't watched much of Ajax outside of the CL but I think I'd go for Neres? Looks more naturally talented to me.

how have they translated €35m to £25m when the pounds hasn't been worth 1.4 euros since like late 2015?

I'm still not convinced by him and I'm actually pretty sure most of their players would turn into another Kagawa/Mkhitaryan/Sahin etc. if we were to buy them. it should be obvious by now that Ajax aren't where they are because they're individually better than teams they beat in CL this year. let's say we buy Tadic and Ziyech; I bet there's more chance of their replacements at Ajax being just as successful next season than those two replicating their current form under Ole. then again, that fee... he's worth it, easily. I doubt he can be worse than the usual suspects in our team.

I think Redcafe would hate him. He's the type that likes to dribble, shoot and look for the killer pass more often than keeping it simple. All things that's hated on this forum.

Classy, elegant player. £25m seems like a steal in the current market, especially given he can operate across midfield and the attacking wide positions. My thoughts are that we could do better by spending more (Sancho for example) but he'd be an excellent addition and, at that price, would allow us to prioritise other areas too - like DM.

Ajax fans also hated him because he lost the ball often but mostly because he looks like he doesnt really care. Even after the Tottenham game he didnt look happy.

Loads of people here want Pogba gone because he doesnt 'play for the jersey', 'doesnt put in a shit' and 'he looks like he only cares about himself and not about the club'. Ziyech is worse than Pogba when it comes to those things (while also being not as good as a Pogba as a football player.). Pogba looks annoyed when we concede, he shouts at teammate but Ziyech would likely just walk back for a kick off when we concede.

After a few months people here would want Ziyech out of the club and prefer Lingard to start because he is a local lad who works hard and has great off the ball movement...

Ziyech gets a lot of stick for his decision making, ridiculous attempts from stupid places, overall demeanour, etc. but he's never been criticised for a lack of workrate?

He's not a winger though. He's more of a no 10 who can play as an inverted midfielder on the right wing.

He's also too direct in his play and always love to force play which could be frustrating at times if he's not getting it right.

Lastly, he needs a solid central midfield behind him to consistently release him in the final third because he's at his best in the final third and having him go too deep could be suicidal for the team due to his erratic forced passes which could be pounced on by the opponent.

His playing style and body type are eerily similar with Di Maria. He is very talented, but would probably be extremely inconsistent and frustrating in PL.

Thought his decision making was far better than Neres who was the only Ajax player who didnt look effective against Spurs
