May be a dumb question but do you definitely have locals in your area? It's not country-wide - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_United_Kingdom_local_electionsIs it even possible that I have a voting slip for the European Elections but not the local council ones tomorrow? I registered to vote over a year ago at my new address, surely there isn’t two different places you need to register for different elections.
PS. Sorry for jacking the thread for my issue.
Yeah definitely do. I have a shared letter box, so it might have just got lost. I’ll just head over with some ID and hope for the best.May be a dumb question but do you definitely have locals in your area? It's not country-wide - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_United_Kingdom_local_elections
But yeah if you do, you should be registered. Remember you don't need your polling card to vote so if it's got lost, just turn up.
You can register online @Dan_F, up to the 8th May. We're still abroad but will be back in the UK in time for the Euro elections, so I registered yesterday, just in case we've missed a voting registration form whilst we've been away.Yeah definitely do. Dan's saying that he doesn't have a slip for the local elections. There's no issues with the European ones as he's got the slip in the post. You can register online @Dan_F, up to the 8th May. Ah, sorry. I misunderstood.Dan's saying that he doesn't have a slip for the local elections. There's no issues with the European ones as he's got the slip in the post.

Yes, unless they agree a deal before.Forgive my ignorance but are the UK taking part in the european elections despite brexit?
Wow what a mess.Yes, unless they agree a deal before.
Heh, if that was the worst of it we'd be laughingWow what a mess.
Paul Mason keeps talking about a possible anti brexit progressive coalition but the labour party won't change its position any time soon, liberals might not vote labour even if the party backed a second referendum, the green will never move and Change UK are more interested in themselves. That only adds up to 96%?
Anyway based on that
around 47% for pro brexit policies
around 28% for anti brexit policies
and 21% in favor of unicorns
indeed - I think if there was a 2nd referendum it would be very hard to imagine a cohesive and effective remain campaignPaul Mason keeps talking about a possible anti brexit progressive coalition but the labour party won't change its position any time soon, liberals might not vote labour even if the party backed a second referendum, the green will never move and Change UK are more interested in themselves.
The Remain side really is fecking shite.
even combined, assuming labour is a remain party, that vote is 49-47. and you would have to assume there will be some labour defections to the leavers if they declare as remain, and any labour gains will be readjusting within the existing 49.Paul Mason keeps talking about a possible anti brexit progressive coalition but the labour party won't change its position any time soon, liberals might not vote labour even if the party backed a second referendum, the green will never move and Change UK are more interested in themselves.

I didn't think you *had* to bring your card anywhereYou don't need the polling card and only need ID if you're in one of 10 areas.
Edit: Not the easiest to find the areas but they are these:
"Pendle, East Staffordshire and Woking - voters will be asked to show photo ID before they are given their ballot papers.
Ribble Valley, Broxtowe, Derby, North Kesteven and Braintree – voters will have to present either one form of photo ID or up to two forms of non-photo ID.
Mid Sussex, Watford and North West Leicestershire – voters will need to bring their poll cards as a means of identification."
Mason argument then is to have a culture war over Brexit(I wish I was joking)even combined, assuming labour is a remain party, that vote is 49-47. and you would have to assume there will be some labour defections to the leavers if they declare as remain, and any labour gains will be readjusting within the existing 49.
When has that ever failedMason argument then is to have a culture war over Brexit(I wish I was joking)
As i posted, you have to bring the card in 3 locations.I didn't think you *had* to bring your card anywhere

If you feel strongly about remaining then yeah, you should. Not really been paying attention but I don't want us to throw away our votes (4 of us) either. Look what happened in America. I usually vote Labour but should I go lib dem to register my strong remain sentiment?
I think a whole load of us are in this boat. Seems like more than a few will take the plunge too - I know I will because I really don't think we've got very much to lose. Genuinely fail to see what a vote for Labour in the Euros actually accomplishes beyond providing continued life support to their hapless, middle of the road, chickenshit sentiment. Not really been paying attention but I don't want us to throw away our votes (4 of us) either. Yes I agree. The next Tory PM may well use this as a reason for a No Deal exit.Brexit party are going win by a landslide, which I think is a really bad prospect
My girlfriend's cousin and partner in Scotland have voted Conservative because people have been picking on Theresa May. My girlfriend probed a tiny bit and there was literally no understanding of anything beyond that.
I have this feeling that somehow Farage is being funded by senior Tories, perhaps I’m paranoid but I just can’t shake it.Yes I agree. The next Tory PM may well use this as a reason for a No Deal exit.
Gawd help us all.
Ye can vote without it I thought? My ballot didn't even turn up from the UK. During the 2016 ref it turned up the day after the result. Thanks England yet again..
