Love the warhammer. Been painting a lot of aos recently, prefer the game to the futuristic stuff.

True and he could hang with my noise Marine I need to do too

Those 4 marines are about to be sacrificed to test painting
Love the Heroes too.
It’s a sonic weapon, that model is a updated reissue of one from the very early 90’s when 40k was ridiculous and great
Not only perfection in ridiculousness, but perfectly "feck you, I'm Slanneshi, I do what I want, suck my dick!"

I got one, once, as I had an order that was like "add 4 bucks for free shipping" and the hero was 4 bucks or whatever, so, yeah, silly not to.

Of course, it's that guy you have chucking the grenade.

I used to play Warhammer fantasy as Chaos, had an awesome model of Khazrak the One-Eye but i never had enough money to build much of an army.
Kind of wishing i had an excuse to get into it again now.. once a nerd always a nerd.

Excuse, it's fun is excuse enough.
Can anyone recommend any good 40k stories for someone who never played it?

Sorry I have only just seen this now.

Man, there are so many stories I don't know where to start. Are you familiar at all with the background and setting of the 40k universe?

If not, there are good YouTube channels that discuss the lore of special characters, the races and key battles/events that you could try. There are so many interesting, unique and detailed characters to read/listen about, let alone the amazingly deep history of the various races.

Trying to rattle through 3 Shadespire war bands before Sunday when some mates come over so they don’t get the good paint jobs. First nighthaunt I’ve touched though and they’re pretty fun to rattle out quickly.

I have a general understanding of the space marine chapters, and that Chaos marines split off from them. I know a bit about chaos from the non 40k warhammer but thats it!

Im enjoying watching battle reports on youtube, particularly stuff with tyranids. Im completely open to book reccomendations.

I also found this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Warhammer_40,000_novels

Yeah sprayed corax white base then Hexwraith Flame slapped straight on, looks better in real life too as it always does. I figure these warbands will be used by my mates a lot who won’t be overly careful so not gonna spend much time on them. The skin is just super watered down fenrisian grey washed on too, I reckon the whole model was a half hour job.

Hell of a result for such a quick and easy method.

For sure, they are quite enjoyable to do too which I wasn’t expecting, now I’m tempted to get an army of them going.

I’m sure all the time I saved on these will be used on the gobbo warband that’s up next though seeing as I’m gonna paint their cloaks yellow which always needs about 500 coats

I was honestly just listening to that channel before opening up the caf then.

A few other really good ones are:
ItalianSpartacus
OneMindSyndicate
Arch Warhammer

I'm half way through cleaning up and assembling a batch of 25 resin minis.

The hatred is real.

It's amazing. I'm sure there'll be a few more options in the box too.

If it's like the Great Unclean One, which has 3 builds before you consider mix and matching parts.

Love the Total War Warhammer franchise. Last few years for Total War has been a dream come true. When the first TW game dropped, I remember thinking, I wanted Romance of the Three Kingdoms TW and Warhammer Fantasy TW, and almost 20 years later, it's about to happen!

Never got into table top (fantasy), but I almost did.

Absolutely! Can't wait to paint mine, but I still have some work to do preparing it(I tend to hop from project to project like a ADHD rabbit).
That's magnificent.

I especially love the way that's it's walking, I think it fits the theme perfectly. Like a catwalk.
Catwalk, perfect description.
