I always liked him I think he was great during the 11-12 season but, with his injury issues and his lack of finishing I do not like his future prospects going forward.

Probably the best bit of business we did in post Fergie era is to sell this lad to Arsenal for 16m.

Rashford signs bumper deal. Flogged to Arsenal after disappointment after disappointment. Given free transfer after 5 years service.

Timeline will be identical.

Can we please round up all the posters who bumped his thread every time he scored for them telling us it was a mistake to sell him

I think he can go to West Ham. They love this type of signings.

That was classy by Arsenal. Welbeck would improve us despite what people say. He was great for Arsenal under Emery before injury. However, I think he should be looking at a club where he would be a regular and imitate a player like Callum Wilson.

There was always potential, there were odd moments of brilliance - but he never had consitency, nor a lethal finish.

If he's free, have him back as a winger or inside forward. Don't make in a #9 because he's not good enough.

Classy from Arsenal but deary me that roll call of achievements was grim...

88 appearances...
scoring the odd goal here and there...

anything else!?

hmm ow yeah he had some good banter in the dressing room!

Take a bow

Always loved Danny. Hope wherever he goes next can be a club where he settles well and is more fortunate with injuries.

They'll probably release a DVD of the goals he scored against us.

Laugh all you want but Welbeck was the king of the high press before it became fashionable. I wouldn’t be surprised if a high press team picks him up as a squad player

Honestly, for free I can see Ole going for him. 'One of our own' and all that.

So we need to get younger, less injury prone and more energy. Let's resign Danny Welbeck. Talksport are debating whether we should sign Gary Cahill at the moment. It just gets even better.

I actually like how hard he worked on helping the defense and midfield, but let's move on. Will be a handy player for a third tier top team league or a lower mid-table EPL team

Nice gesture from Arsenal, for a player who haven't achieved much for them.

Hopefully he will have a good career and stays injury free.

I wonder if he’ll try associate himself with us again. Or is Arsenal where his heart is now. Will he be remembered more for his time as an Arsenal player or United? Kind of like how Phil Neville will try make you believe he played for United all his career.

I can see him at Palace, hopefully he discover some goal scoring form this stage in his career

While Arsenal are cutting lose with their sicknotes and deadwoods, we are giving the likes of Rojo and Jones new contracts. The wonders that keep happening at our club.

Poor bloke. Without injuries he would have been a decent player, his England record is magnificent despite that.
