It's the Daily Record.
Give it a rest! Liverpool just beat Barca with a combination of ex-Newcastle, Sunderland, Stoke and Southampton players.
All that glitters is not gold, if united rebuild with players from the same sort of clubs as long as they have the same sort of mentality and resolve, then they won't go far wrong. Enough of prime donnas.

You talk some sense here. It will be lost on plenty and you'll be accused of wanting 11 donkeys with heart and that can run.

There's nothing in between with some of these.

Schneiderlin, Powell, Zaha, Lukaku, Jones, Smalling, Fellaini, Darmian I could go on. You've bought lots of players from lesser clubs, difference is at Liverpool they get coached and improved. Not saying you're wrong on the galactico front as that certainly hasn't worked either and the mistakes are much more expensive, but until your club knows what to do with the players it buys, nothing will change regardless of where they come from.

The highlighted ones are playing at the standard they are or they'd be snapped up by biggers clubs. They are mid table level. Only Fellaini gets a pass as he was what he was.

The others could be improved but Smalling has at least won a trophy or two.

The thing about them is that the recruitment was desperate not targeted in the right way

Smalling isn’t any worse than Joel Matip to be fair. He’d be fine with Van Dijk alongside him just as was when he was alongside Rio or Vidic.

That's my point exactly, it's not about where you buy players from, It's about knowing why you are buying them, how they fit into the team and knowing you can build on their potential. ie Knowing what to do with them.

Interestingly I saw an article claiming that Mou said he was denied Perisic because he wasn't deemed marketable enough, but the only reason he wanted Perisic was because he thought he was the winger Lukaku needed and then Sanchez was offered as a compromise. True or not, it is indicative of your transfer policy, it has been completely scattergun since Moyes and you're reaping the results of that.

A kneejerk reaction to Liverpool's win over Barca on the caf was suddenly "buy players from smaller clubs like pool have" my point was that doesn't work either by itself.

What you need is a fecking bit of planning and strategy that's focussed on football and team building rather than commercial and revenue building and when you change managers don't go for someone with a completely different tactical approach, because it makes all your recent (often very expensive) signings completely redundant!

If Leroy Sane is going to go we should have a serious go at him. I rate him and can’t believe City are thinking of getting rid so it’s probably just paper talk. I know they probably wouldn’t sell to United either but we I think we should at least have go if he’s going to leave there.

AWB and Van Aanholt for 50m would be damn good business. I read someone describe the thought of van Aanholt as mad but I disagree. Better offensively than Shaw. Good option to have. All this talk though, can't wait for things to actually happen...

PVA is a very good attacking full-back. I always wondered why he doesn’t feature much for Holland. We definitely need another LB though. For all the talk of RB, we have only one LB in the squad, and nowhere near the talent coming through in that position in comparison to RB.

Too good to be true. Shaw is and remains to be a major problem in my eyes if we want to play attacking football.

Van Aanholt isn't very good. He has the odd lung bursting run and nice goal that catches people's eye but is generally ineffective. He actually has the same number of goals and assists as Shaw this season (5)

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
My lasting memories from watching Sunderland play to see Januzaj were that their defence was shocking and Van Aanholt was terrible most of the time. Perhaps he was dragged down by the rest but he's been lingering in the PL for a long time and has never really made much of a name for himself. I reckon it's just a nothing article.
