Son would be great for our team! He carried Tottenham when Kane was out

Son for Martial and money but doubt Son would move.

Vardy, we could do with a striker that is already adapted to the premier league and known for scoring 20 goals a season

Vardy is such an obvious one that I'm surprised it isn't reported more in the media. He'd be a useful player to have in the squad

Jovic Piatek Werner Vardy Cavani Dybala

Only 6 I could see semi available - only Piatek and Vardy realistic options for us.

Vardy for me is a no brainer. Would score for fun for us especially if Pogba stays .

:drool::drool:

We really need to sell a ”project” to some players this Summer, will need some ridiculous salesmanship.
Cavani and Dybala? Have you learned nothing from the last 6 years?

These are the types of players who have let us down. Neither will want to come here and will be coming for the wrong reasons if they do come. Money.

No thanks. No more mercenary FC. Di Maria, Falcao, Sanchez etc.

Need to go back to our roots. Young players.

Not that many highly talented strikers about at the moment - even less that would be remotely available (and as a result will cost an absolute bomb).

Lewandowski would be an obvious choice, but it would be very expensive for a 30 y.o. striker

Munas Dabbur would be worth the punt as a "backup that could become a starter" type of player.

Piatek would be bloody expensive: he just went to Milan this winter

Ben Yedder had conviced me this season: he has some serious skills.

He’s absoubtly the one I’d go for. He’s not going to restrict the development of Rashford or Geeenwood. He probably has a few less miles on the clock compared to other older strikers as he started later, he’s retired from international football, actually has some guts, determination and pace. He knows how to finish!

I think he would be available for around £25m and give us two good years. He’s an improvement on Lukuku, has a great record against the big teams, and is the sort of character we need. Gives our younger strikers time to develop. I don’t see any downside to him.

Sign Vardy. Better than anyone we have, league proven and relatively cheap. Hes a cnut but I feel half our squad are already, rather one that knew how to score as well.

Get Fernandes also to provide goals from midfield.

Vardy is a great shout actually - he would be a fantastic addition to your squad. Not exactly a long term option though.

The guy at Ajax whose name I can never remember! Can't make my mind up about Dybala, but doubt he would come now

frankly, not sure we can afford to look long term. get someone like vardy in to get enough goals to sneak us into top four and go from there. Something about Vardy makes me hate him.. but he'll score goals

I’d quite like an out and out finisher, in the Ruud mould. Not many of those about these days though.
The closest is Kane obviously but he’d cost a fortune.

Rashford trying to make so many runs in behind and play like a Vardy or Aubameyang type the last month or so makes me think that's where Ole sees him and so we won't buy a 9. If Ole thought he was a winger, then yeah, but he doesn't seem to, so I think us buying a winger or 10 or both is likelier.

God help us if Rashford is to be our number 9.

Agree. He's definitely worth asking about.

I'm afraid Rashford is our 9 now and Ole loves him so that's that. Depressing but true I think.

If OGS settles on playing 433 next season, you need a player who can play as inside forward on the right, and also provide competition or act as backup to Rashford as #9. Son Heung Min is an obvious choice.

Martial - Rashford - Son as front 3 is not a bad option.

To be fair - I could see him being effective in that role - your problem is that you don't have a striker for him to play off - Lukaku you would think should be able to do it but he doesn't seem to have the ability to hold the ball up and make those passes into space for the likes of Rashford to run onto. If Lukaku can develop that part of his game (which is possible) then that could be worth pursuing.

Good luck buying Son this summer.

I think we're in a post-Lukaku world here considering what Ole seemed to think of him, and if he stays around I expect it to be as Rashford's backup and fighting with Martial for a spot when we play a front 2.

I agree except for the Martial and Rashford bit!

Or maybe we won't sign him because he doesn't want to go from playing for a consistently top 4/CL finalist side to finishing 6th place? That sounds more realistic.

Think for the EPL, it's important to get a centre forward that can head & hold up the ball.

Tried & tested old guard:
Lewy, Cavani, Vardy

Younger options:
Jovic, Milik, Mitrovic, Joelinton, Delort

Vardy is not better than Lukaku.
Agree.
He's Lukaku light really, and I dare say would look even worse in our current style of play, as he relies on counter attacking into loads of space, which we often don't find with teams sitting back.
