But he’s a legend mate. We can’t judge him until he’s spent £300 million. The entire squad is shit.

Expect lots of replies like this mate.

Woody needs to show some bollocks and sack him today. fecking club is a complete shambles.
And even then if he messes up the excuse will be "give him more time, it's new players settling into the team". It's funny because the same excuses were made for both Moyes and Van Gaal (he's laying foundations rubbish).

You got Conte available and even possibly Allegri and yet because Woodward can only make reactionary decisions we end up with a manager that was a failure in the EFL Championship, and my anger is not directed at Solskjear, he didn't make the decision to be the full time manager, Woodward is just so awful with his footballing decisions, terrible managerial choices and a complete moron in the transfer market, whi can forget the brilliance of waiting until Fellaini's release clause at Everton expired and having to pay more for him.

Expect Solskjaer to do massive changes to the team in the summer. This is what he did in his first spell at Molde. Not necessarily the most expensive of transfers, but a lot of players will go and a lot of new players will come in.

And it will have an immediate effect - if Solskjaer gets to do what he wants to.

I’m desperate to see news of his sacking come up on my phone. I can’t believe Chris Hughton has been sacked and we are sticking with Ole. I think Chris would be better in the United job than Ole (but still nowhere near suitable for the job).

Nah. It’s because our defenders are crap. Despite us coming second the previous season with the same defenders.

Once we’ve “upgraded” them and everyone wishes hard enough it’ll all be ok.
Finishing 2nd last season was one of the most ridiculous seasons of over performance in clinical finishing and wastefulness from the opposition. In actual performances, we probably shouldve been around 15 points worse off.

Anyway, man for man, our back 4 is in the bottom half of the league. Shaw wouldn't start at any of the top 6, Everton, Crystal Palace, Leicester and would be a close call with teams like Southampton, Wolves and Watford. Most of the mid table teams have better center backs in possession and defensively than we do. Our right back (whoever we play there) is basically relegation standard. Our right wing is the same. Our midfield 2 behind Pogba, what it's turned into with Herrera leaving, is lower mid table level. None of that is exaggerations. It's the truth. We have so much dross that start every week it's ridiculous.

Antonio Conte is a much better fit than Solksjaer...,He won the Premierleague title in 2017....I”m sure there are others, like Carlo Ancelotti who can be attainable.....Have someone like Conte for the next couple of years....Lets rebuild the club and the team before then going for someone like Pochettino....
Conte doesn’t want to manage again in England and is already lined up for Inter job, also a defensive coach. Ancelotti is good at walking into top teams that have underperformed, but does not re build teams, not a good fit.

I want Poch and would take him in a heart beat if he was gettable but highly doubt he is.

We were crap that year, Dortmund led 3-1 and completly collapsed and they lost to a mediocare Sevilla side in the final. I'd take our PSG moment in the CL ahead of their run in the EL any day of the week

Plus, we beat them in Anfield that year. And again, we were crap
So Liverpool's final run in CL this year also doesn't matter since Barcelona completely collapsed? We were crap yes but there was something resembling a style under LvG, we actually tried to pass the ball. Also everyone could see Klopp's style/philosophy taking shape in those few months, nothing of the sort has happened for us.

Sounds about right.
Those glory days are beginning to be just a fading memory.
Fantastic while it lasted though eh.
We are actually turning into Liverpool. Only silver lining is that Liverpool seem to have figured it out finally, we can do so too.

Fair points. I think he gets this transfer window and pre-season. If it's still crap next season we should look to get rid in November/December and not repeat the Moyes mistake.

We should also be talking to other managers already, to find out whether they're willing to take over in the event that OGS fails. No point sacking him and finding there's no-one to take over.
Does your boss do that to you?

What we should be doing is putting together a plan, with measurable targets along the way, which takes us from where we are now to where we want to be in x years time (the objectives). As well as performance targets for the team, it would also include targets for the scouting and coaching teams. In addition to targets, the plan would necessarily include the budgets and internal structures required to accomplish the objectives.

We have to think of reestablishing Manchester United as a leading force in world football in terms of a project. The starting point is where we are now and it is going to take time quite a long time to complete, so we need to have milestones along the way to allow us to determine whether we are on track. The other important point is that, in the event of the manager failing to deliver, the new manager, whoever he may be, is hired to proceed in line with the project rather than some personal agenda of his own. We can't go with a 'new manager means new plan' strategy (which is what it feels like we have been doing since SAF retired).

It's already shown up. If it wasn't for large slices of luck in the West Ham and Watford games (and lets be honest against PSG) his record would be down there with Jan Siewert at Huddersfield.
If you read my full post I already mentioned the reasons. First 15 games was good last 12 were bad. You can't come to any conclusions based on this and especially with these players.

Also look at what's Zidane record since he went back to real.

Not sure how Brighton sacking their manager is relevant to Ole staying or not.

The football he got Molde playing, basically. That’s pretty much it. It’s a leap of faith, but isn’t every appointment? Jose was supposed to be a sure thing.

What I do know though is that the players are terrible, but I have faith in what he did with Molde, and that if given enough time he can get us playing the same way. He can’t do it in just a few weeks though. Even if we got Poch it would be the same. We need to be patient basically.
Most Molde fans are glad he left and wouldn't want him back if given the opportunity. I'll leave it at that.

Well I’m not convinced. I reckon we’ll still look clueless once we’ve dropped £70m on Maguire. Hope I’m wrong, obvs.

It's sackable form for a manager battling relegation ffs.

Giving this guy the luxury of a fecking elite level football rebuild is literal insanity.

So we decided to take away the good days and look only at the bad days. Selective Amnesia at it's best!!
 Let's ignore the good days and compare from the time we are shit.
Aren't we comparing the permanent manager Zidane with the permanent Ole?
If you are comparing their whole careers, there's tiny 3 CL and 1 La Liga difference between them.

Since one decided to compare Zidane with Ole it's either those 10 games each since he took over again at Real or full careers. Makes no sense to only look at 6 months spell for Ole to make your numbers look good.

So we have to ignore his record from December to March? Well not sure whether to call it madness, agenda driven or just pathetic.

You can call it all when someone decides to compare Ole with Zidane. Why would you consider his record from December till March, yet only use Zidane's second spell with Real as a stick to beat him with?

From December till March he had different job - caretaker. Once he is appointed as a perm manager his job status changes, along with his responsibility, pressure, etc.

Yes, but Molde dont have Woodward in charge. We do.

Of course we'll still look clueless. Maguire is very far from world class. Spending £70m on someone who isnt worth all that much more than Smalling isn't how you improve. He is a minor improvement, but not huge.

Spending £80m on Koulibaly to partner Lindelof makes us dominant in the air and comfortable and building up from the back. Or signing Alderweireld as he is a quality CB. Signing a right back like Cancelo or Meunier gives us a lot more balance, pace, power and creativity from right back. Those 2 would revamp our defence.

Then we need 2 midfielders who are more energetic, hungry, but also quality players technically who can control games and come deep to pick the ball up and build up our play and transition it to the attackers. We have 4 players that we absolutely need to sign, and those 4 are players that we need to get spot on otherwise it'll be a weak point. Its areas so key to everything in a team that we'll struggle without it. We looked really good for about 5 games with Ole because thats all Matic had in him in terms of energy and performance. Same with Herrera. Once they resorted to their standard level, our performance levels dropped a crazy amount and our shit defence was further exposed for how bad it is.

wasn't the post you quoted specifically talked about Zidane's second stint? Either say it's unfair or compare his second stint with Ole's time at ManUtd. Stop the mental gymnastics.

No Ole didn't have different role. He had same team, same role just different designation to mention on website.

Don't have to. Look at wiki - Ole got promoted to perm manager in March and rightfully so his record is separated.

Di Matteo won CL with Chelsea being caretaker from March till May.

On June he was appointed perm manager. After 15-16 games in November he was sacked.

That alone would absolutely transform us I'm certain of it. Next after that a threat on the right wing.

I think those signings alone are not enough but I do think they'd see other current players improve massively @bosnian_red

That’s a pity. Shall I draw you a picture?
Do you find it that difficult to believe that they have sacked Hughton? Or is it that we aren't sacking Ole, now that they have sacked Hughton, as if the two were linked somehow?

If you are desperate for news of a sacking I'm afraid you are in for a miserable time. :D

Didn't he supposedly cancel today's debriefing meeting with the players? Is that a problem? If they now all swan off on holiday, how will they get any fitness programes he wants then to do? How will people know if they are in his plan for next season?
I think they invented cell phones in the latter part of the 20th century. These days they are so advanced you can actually send apps and training programs to people, mindblowing stuff.

What's the point in comparing him to Zidane if we aren't using the same metrics?

Zidane's second stint began on 11th of March. Ole was appointed full time on 28th of March. We can compare them since 11th of March, but you won't like those numbers as well.

I constantly hear that we should give Ole more time because of Zidane, Pep and Klopp. And that's really winding me up tbh.

Feck me man, you can't fire a manager before he's even had a pre-season or signed a single player. What is this shit?

He's your manager and he at least appears to want to target the right attitude and right kind of player, give it a fecking chance and start your moaning again once the season starts if we're as shite as you are anticipating.

Yup. We should forget about targets like winning the title for right now. Get back to building a quality, be able to put out a starting 11 of quality players and still leave space for youth to get chances. Thatll take a few years in itself, any trophies would be a bonus. See where we're at in 2-3 years and what we need to get the added push. That all starts with truly fixing our defense and midfield.
