It's Spain so everyone. They always produce quality players above what their NT can carry. You've got one each from Alavés, Osasuna and Sociedad and the rest are with big clubs. Half of Italy's side are with Juve, Inter and Milan. Basically there are no hidden gems at that level. The hidden gems are the ones that for some reason never get picked at youth level.
Ok, thanks. So no hidden gems. Any unhidden gems?! There must be some of the Italian/Spanish lads more highly rated than the rest?

Can’t find a thread on this anywhere. Anyone been following?

Ireland is hosting this one. I’m going to the Spain v Italy game on Friday. Which future Manchester United megastars should I keep an eye out for? Shower me with your knowledge, youth nerds.
It's a pretty average Spain gen for once, despite their results. They don't dominate possession quite as much as other gens, unsure if due to tactics or a lack of quality for it. I like Navarro, he's a decent talent for me. Italy side isn't bad, should be a close game. Don't think there is any massive talents for either side really (well none that are hyped up)

Grand. I’ll tell everyone I’m there with that I’ve been following Navarro’s career closely for ages.

Pretty decent game actually. Spain’s number 11 (no idea what his name is) was quality. Reminded me a lot of Angel Gomes. Tiny but super nimble.
Watched the first half but turned off at HT as had other games to watch, wish I didn't. Soriano was number 11, not seen too much of him though. He's at Atletico but never seen him play for the u19s, don't think he ever has. You gonna head to any of the later games?

Quarters set up quite nicely. Unsure how Germany went out really.

England won their last game 3-1 but as France and Holland drew their match they go out. It was a tough group and there were legit big players missing but there was also shocking planning from the FA regarding the registration of some players. Probably more to learn behind the scenes for England than on the pitch.

@Spiersey

Are you still backing Holland to win it?

Yeah think Holland still the best side. Played reserves against France as they were already through, which is why they lost. Think it was maybe 6 debutants at that level. Did think they would be more dominant against England but on paper it’s the best squad by a distance for me.

Dutch very impressive after a poor opening 20. Doku's idol is 100% Hazard, never seen a youth player slow play as much as him.

Excuse me, um, what's up with the Aouchiche kid? Is he's actually a good/highly-rated player, or just hitting exceptional goalscoring form in this edition of the tournament (like Gouiri in 2017)?

Cc. @Ecstatic, has he signed pro contact with PSG? :smirk:
He is very highly rated as the best AM prospect to ever come from the PSG academy. He's been playing with the U19 at 16 without matching these crazy stats. Talks about his first pro contract are ongoing.

I haven't been able to watch much of him first hand but from what I heard he's more than a simple goalscorer.

Nah UEFA stream them on YouTube, had most of the group games on there (with some missing) but really poor not showing all KO games.
About 2/3 of the matches were streamed in some countries and that was because the rightsholders agreed to it. Not all though. BBC is in general responsible for the broadcast of this tournament in the UK.

I don't think that's it, some matches just don't seem to be filmed or aired/streamed at all anywhere. There's not even highlights of them afterwards. Netherlands and France for example, all their matches were streamed and highlighted afterwards, except when they played each other, nothing. Doesn't make sense.

It is. Just because you hold the rights doesn't mean you use that right.

We are on about UEFA TV (youtube channel) not the local broadcasting. It’s very odd to not show all the knockout games, especially given how good UEFA generally are for streaming. The u17 women’s which is currently on has had more games streamed.

And I've already told you that UEFA got the broadcaster to agree that they would be able to show 2/3rd of the games. Portugal-Italy is not being showed because the rights holder in one or both countries didn't agree to it.

The bottom line is that BBC should be showing the competitions but are obviously saving costs by not doing so like many other TV stations.

I don't know a lot about the player who is just 16 yo

What I know is that he reached a new level this season with the U19 coach Thiago Motta and that PSG tries to make him sign a contract.

Holland Italy final on Sunday. Shame that France didn't go through, them and Holland been the two best sides for me, would have been a better final. Should still be a good game though. Holland Spain today was the most stop start game ever, think it was around 45 fouls in the end, just kicked each other off the park for 90 minutes.

Think Brobbey is the biggest player I can remember at u17s, certainly at a decent team. He'd be a big striker in the Prem, let alone v u17s.

Lukaku maybe, was already playing in the first team of Anderlecht at Brobbey's age, massive as a 16 year old too:
He's the only other one that springs to mind. Don't think Lukaku ever played u17s or u19s though. Assume he was fast tracked given he was top tier at 16. Be interesting to see how Brobbey's career pans out compared to Lukaku's.

has a better chance of making it if he does move to a prem club soon tbh, rather than trying at Ajax.

There's a guy in England called Ellis Simms who plays for Everton u18s but is like the size of Fellani, he's been laying waste to the league this year (41 goals in 31 games) but it could be a case of them being so much bigger than the opposition. Can they step up.

Remember watching him for the u19s in the Cee Cup in 2018. He was top scorer, was amazed to find out he was only just turned 16 considering he was as big as any of the defenders.
Don't follow the u18s league though, had no idea he was putting up those numbers. Very impressive.

He's probably not good enough technically to make it at Ajax. His finishing is good though so you never know.
