We all know the problem isn't Ole but the structure at the club.

Problem at United is coming right from the executive level and affecting everything down below.

The direction Woodward wanted the club to take, put off all the top managers, the way he interferes in transfer business doesn't induce confidence either. The way we treated and did not back our previous two managers who actually brought us trophies rang alarm bells to all other top managers.

Woodward doesn't know football business is evidently clear to even cursory follower of club football. We have signed players paying over the odds without even thinking about team cohesion.

The simple conclusion is, If the club is to move forward, it requires change in leadership and management structure.

In short, Woodward needs to go and must be replaced by a seasoned professional who knows both football and financial side of the business.

VDS fits the profile to the T, is an ex united player as well and has proven himself at Ajax.

Coming to the Ole question, All united fans adore him, but we need to ask ourselves, would any other top 6 in fact top 10 team in England would have hired him.

A club like United needs a top manager with a proper structure behind him and bestow him with full authority. Somebody who is a known entity and well respected figure, whose playing philosophy is well known and who players want to play for. Sadly Old is none of that, good-luck convincing any top player above 50 m market value to join united with a shambolic structure and a manager whose only claim to fame is a last minute winner some 20 odd years ago.

There is not a shadow of doubt that most current United players are mercenaries and have no respect for the badge, yet we need to question how a manager like Ole would inspire them, when they know he doesn't have any track record, was a nobody in football management before getting appointed, who did something amazing on football pitch when most of them were too young to even start following football.

Appointment of Ole was a hasty decision which has backfired tremendously.

He needs to be replaced asap and can be given academy development role.

A club like united needs a solid pedigreed manager like Pep, Klopp, Poch or Ancelotti.

New manager needs to be backed with full authority, should be allowed to appoint his own head of Recruitment and assistant manager and buy or sell any player he wants within the predefined net spend amount.

In short, we need a proper structure at United.

How the hell did McTominay end up cb yesterday, was there no cb on the bench?

Edit: Just checked and no CB on the bench, what dreadful management. 5 midfielders and a left back as his outfield options. Makes no sense, guy is out of his depth.
I suspect a number of our CBs are on the way out.

So what is terrible from the analysis lads?

We don't give awful amount of space between the lines? We don't often have someone playing on side 1 or even 2 forwards? We have spot on marking instructions? We always keep our backline in shape? We aren't terrible in transition or we track and pass opposition forwards pretty well?

Or you just decided that a long piece on our organizational structure, that someone took his time to actually watch in details how we defend and put it together isn't worthy of your time and label it crap?

Or just because other teams make defensive errors we should overlook ours, sit down, hold hands and sing Kumbaya with hope everything will be fine tomorrow?

Under Jose last two years we conceded 28 and 29 in the league. This season he was rejected a CB, along with Ole's efforts we conceded 54 in the league - only West ham in the top ten conceded more. But let that not blind you.
The analysis was excellent. I envisage that the less than favourable responses you've received are from individuals who have no compulsion to engage with the post on any level. The retort that "you can find these mistakes from all teams" is a disingenuous one because it forgets one very important fact; that United have a poor defensive record by comparison, and therefore your pointing out the mistakes isn't some arbitrary thing. It's a snapshot of why United have said poor defensive record.

It’s funny how some are already asking to sack him!! He has a shite squad, at least give the man some time to rebuild. He is working with the mess moyes, LVG and mourinho created. He is the only manager after SAF who is actually talking about rebuilding, about promoting academy players, who is properly setting the tone.

Sack him?? Why? Who on earth would do better with a squad like this?

Back him!

For all the talk of the structure being wrong etc, is it not just a case of him buying 5-6 decent players, working a formation out, and simple as that?
They don't all have to be 100m signings.

Or is that too simple?

Positivity and finishing isn't all were missing Ole. Everything isn't about a feeling FFS. We didn't even create all that much. You'd think we had battered them without scoring.
The young lad had 5-6 chances alone!
Then all of a sudden Moss gives a ridiculous pen, and it all sinks away.

Ollie may not be the long term answer , but right now he needs to be backed into cleaning up the mess , and getting 10- 12 of the dead wood out of the club . How people can call for his head after 6 months and not a single player signed shows their lack of any real knowledge of the game or the club .
The problem is, this is not some temporary measure that if fails means little damage has been done. Players will go and players will be brought in for a lot of money overall, the squad will undergo a big change that if fails would set us back further. How much do we trust Solskjaer to oversee such overhaul? What is that based on other than blind faith?

Last summer we had a manager who did not enjoy the club's faith in his transfer decisions. Now we have another situation in which we could rightly have big doubts over the manager's ability and decision making. It's a terrible situation.

Do you genuinely believe that there is no other person on earth that would be better qualified to do this job?
We had arguably the most 'qualified' person we could get before Solskjaer. There's no guarantees with anyone, these players are average and will get average results.

Guardian said:
“He (Solskjaer) is one of the best people I have ever met in football,” Herrera said. “Everyone loves him in the dressing room. Everyone wants to fight for him. When you have the players behind you and wanting to fight for you, part of the job is done. I believe in karma and if you are a good person, if you are honest and sincere with the players and the fans, sooner or later it will work.”

That was probably looked at before Ole got the job full time.
But the point is that Pochettino's previous 4 years of Premier League experience renders his recent poor run of form as nothing more than an anomoly. Unfortunately if you look back at Ole's previous PL experience it includes a relegation, a sacking early the following season, an admittedly great run of 10 or 12 games with United followed by the clubs worst form in 60 years. Comparing the last 10 games of both is strange.

Hassenhuttl at Southampton did not inherit a squad of mercenaries in open revolt who had already got one manager fired.

Sack him.

Give someone else 12 games. Sack him.

Give someone else 12 games. Sack him.

Give someone else 12 games. Sack him.

Things are bound to get better.

To say football has become short-termist would be rather an understatement.

You cannot sack someone who hasn't even had a reasonable opportunity to do the job that they were hired to do. Although, anything is possible nowadays.

Ill see what he does with the players we have atm. Ill reserve judgement until then, I want to see him get rid of a number of players. In saying that, I think a rebuild of a club like this, especially working under the morons who run this club will be a tough ask.

No guarantee obviously - but that doesn't mean we shouldn't bother appointing the best qualified people we can find.
But we had the best qualified, same with Van Gaal it just makes it more obvious to me that the main problem is not the manager.

Look at the team yesterday, take out De Gea (quality GK but no influence on how we actually play) and Pogba (plays like he can't be bothered), the rest would hardly stand out if they were playing for Cardiff instead, they just aren't good enough. Put flavour of the month Poch in charge of them it will barely make a difference.

One of the reasons why he's recruited is that the players will have nothing to hide and no more excuses being made with Ole's being the club's legend.

Let's wait and see if he has the club's backing in terms of who he gets rid in the summer

I'm backing him. Then again, I'm a weirdo. I also backed Van Gaal. I thought he was starting to build something. Yes, we played boring football, but his signings made more sense than both Moyes and Mourinho's.
Signings under Van Gaal: Falcao, Blind, Rojo, Di Maria, Herrera, Shaw, Basti(...), Romero, Depay, Schneiderlin, Darmian, Martial.
Signings under Mourinho: Bailly, Zlatan, Pogba, Mkhitaryan, Lindelöf, Lukaku, Matic, Sanchez, Dalot, Fred. (Lee Grant 4th GK or something.).
Signings under Ole: -none-
Van Gaal actually used his signings. Mourinho pretty much left all his singings in the cold (except for Matic). Van Gaal's flops didn't break our wage structure.

I doubt Poch would be an instant success with this squad either. But I would back him to do a better re-building and motivational job than Ole over the time it is going to take.

Hopefully if he does not he walks and tells the fans exactly where the blame lies . The Glaziers are getting off pretty easy in all this mess buts lets remember they have a history of screwing up sports clubs.

If he was still the caretaker manager with his recent results, no one would want him appointed as the permanent manager.

Woodward blew it badly.
