Understandable if he was 27-28 and needs to go far in the CL but the kid's 18. He'll get plenty of CL years at United...right guys ? :nervous:

I think he'd be right to sit tight and see what happens with us next season, there is no rush for him, he could flush everything down the pan if he comes here now.
And if he has a shit season then the interest in him will evaporate.

This may be the only time a club of united’s size has interest in him.

If I was him I'd wait a year to check what shape we're in before joining us.

He’s an unofficial part of the Manc connection. He’s Rashford and Lingard’s triplet on England duty. He loves them. I think he gets a long with quite a few of our guys.

Who knows maybe he’s always been a fan. Many 2000 kids would be.

Exactly. Let’s be honest, it would be a stupid decision to come here right now.
The only way we could persuade him would be to say “we’re buying a RW this summer no matter what. This is your only chance to come on board.”

These opinions make zero sense. Jesus Christ if I rate myself at all then I know if I join a team its so much better because I'm the best young player blah blah! And because of that in 12 months we'll be back in the CL. Basically if he thinks like you...he is not good enough to ever come to the club! Lucky Cantona didn't think like that. Instead he wanted to be part of the journey to the top.

To be fair, that could very well be the situation, considering our current options there.

Injuries aside he's surely only going to get better, and he's at the right club to progress.

Rightly so we are looked at as been mess just now, and sadly I think we are in a position that we need to prove ourselves to players like this.

For the record, I'm happy Sancho sees us as his next club but I'd give Greenwood 30 minutes every game and get Bale on loan next season so they can complete for RW spots, we can go for Sancho if Greenwood hasn't impressed yet and Sancho keeps getting better.

If Greenwood impressed us while Bale is on loan for us. Greenwood has to earn his RW spot for 2020/21 season so that saves us 100m in the budget so we can focus on other position. Sancho is only like a 1 year and 7 months older than Greenwood, why would we waste money on Sancho if Greenwood impresses us in 2019/20?

That's nonsense. You could be the best young player in the world and still not carry a poor team into the CL.

Ask De Gea how rewarding it is being the best player in a shite team while worse players in better teams are competing (and winning) in the CL.

If he has confidence in himself he'll believe he's too good to waste his time on a team that can't even make the CL without him. Wait a year and a better side could easily be in for him.

A lot can change in a year, don’t think many would agree to £100m for Sancho last year.

A lot of bright talents can pop up in a years time for RW. This is a perfect time to go money-wise when we need him most and he has the most hype.

If he has confidence in his own abilities though he won't be thinking that this is his only chance to make it to a big club.

Don’t think Cantona did think like that did he? He was more of a problem child and nomad at that stage in his career. Played for 6 clubs in 5 years by the time he joined us.

Sure, but if he wants a return the PL at some stage of his career and only wants to come to us, as Ornstein says, then it's a bit different.

Wow Stone and Ornstein are saying this? There's some weight to this.

It’s definitely not but it may be our only chance to get a top player for RW. So if he’s smart and likes the club this would be the time to capitalise on Woodward throwing his money.

Next summer another Sancho can pop up that nobody has ever heard of, that’s usually how it goes.

Well yeah, if money is his focus then this is the ideal time. Ideally you want players who are driven to win things though and if I was that type of player I'd need to be convinced that United will be up to the task in the coming years. Waiting a season to see if we make in back into the CL would be a good first step.

Gotta get this done if it's possible. First priority, spend over the odds and take some risks to save money elsewhere if you need to.

I’ve been very impressed by the little I’ve seen of him. I hate to be the doom monger though but I think coming here at his age and the state we are in would be a mistake on his behalf.

This would be my muppet signing of the summer. He's absolutely brilliant. We should triple his wages or something silly like that.

This is the sort of signing that would change the whole feel around the club if it were to happen.

One for the future, as well as walking into our team straight away. Would be a real signal of intent, and help us attract other targets this window if he were to come in early.

If I'm being honest sounds like the Greizmann saga this. I dont think I can take another heartbreak.
Imagine KK and Sancho in one window :drool:

Not even a world record fee, 250 million or whatever, should be considered. Every single person associated with Manchester United is replaceable - players, coaches, manager, CEO, owners - with one world class exception. Of course I'm talking about the WC winner, the player who carries this midtable team, the player who is only behind Ronaldo and Messi when it comes to global popularity and marketing power: Paul Pogba.

Get rid of entire team for all I care, even De Gea became Championship level keeper lately. PP has to be kept at all costs, he's the only positive aspect of Manchester United these days.
Of course it's 50/50, either it happens or it doesn't.

MATHS
My view on probability across the board :) I either win the lottery or I don't, we either win the World cup or we don't, I either kill my boss or I don't .... all just a matter of perspective, I will either sleep with a super model or I won't is far more reassuring that there is a 1 in 1 billion chance
