Don't see where he fits in especially if we do get Bruno Fernandes. I hope we don't try shoe horn him into the right wing, that would be disastrous. If he's seen as a CF I would be more on board but not sure we play the type if football where he'd be any good there, were not a possession based team where we can pin teams back and let him drop if like a false 9.

I'm not a fan of him personally.

Would rather sign a different profile of a player.

Bruno would play in the hole and Dybala up top in a diamond 4-4-2 or it would be Bruno playing through the middle or on the right while Dybala plays the false 9 in the 4-3-3. Bruno has played at a high level wide right for Sporting.

And Dybala himself would aid in us being a high pressing, possession based team since the ball wouldn’t be bouncing off him all the time and he wouldn’t be trying shit flicks he can’t pull off at every opportunity.

Yes, in a 433,Dybala will be the 9 or false 9, bruno can drop to midfield where he has played before. He can also play like beckham and hold wide right and swing in crosses. If not it will be a 41212 diamond, with fernandes in the 10 and dybala up to with rashford

Dybala reminds me a bit of Aguero - he may look small but it won't be that easy to get the ball off him

Dybala has just liked twitter posts with the hashtag #dybalaout from various juve fans.. i guess that means he is leaving

He would play the false 9 in our 4-3-3 if that’s what we persist with next season. He isn’t a midfielder. He’s a striker or a second striker like Rooney.

He would basically replace Lingard and/or push Rashford wide or to the bench.

Amazes me that people are wondering how he will fit in when we don’t have one striker of his quality on the books.
Im not saying he isnt a better player than Lingard or Mata for that fact, massive upgrade in fact. In Ole's eyes though Rashford is the Golden Boy and i dont think he wants him to play wide. We also have Lukaku who will always play central. Dyabla is a better player than all of them but unless we are shipping out Mata & Lukaku and benching Lingard and maybe even Rashford then I dont see how it makes sense. Priority should be a right winger, midfield and defense in this window.

If Ole and the other staff and the board have decided on a way forward, a distinctive style to progress with and a roadmap, and Dybala is one of the talents they have analysed both visually and statistically that they deem is going to fill one of the roles of this new style, then am all for it.

If......as I suspect...... this is another Woodward round peg sqaure hole signing, and supposed "big" name that he can grin stupidly next too with a scarf, thinking its going to buy the fans over.......... forget it.

Is he really that big of a name?

Sure he's rated as a huge talent but I don't think he's a Galactico signing.

This!

Biggest mistake Woodward has made so far is not to offer more than Juve last summer. :(
That ship sailed when he left IMO but yeah he would of had a big impact even on our lazy/inconsistent players, bit like Zlatan.

Telling how every highlight video of him is padded out with nine replays of the same tap in and him Cruyff turning away from a lazy wingers press sixty yards from goal.

What exactly does he do other than look like Zac Efron?

Why are people wanting him out? Another player out of form were going to buy?

Fantastic player, beautiful technician on the ball, but not what we need in a high pressing system under Ole. IF (and im 99% confident on this he won't) sign for us he will be wasted. An absolute luxury player in the mould of a Jamie Rodriguez, Isco, Hazard. An absolute game changer in a very good team. A player who we would carry in a bang average current team. Love to see him here, right player, wrong time.

Felix plays in a similar position but he has a better workrate. I can see Dybala replacing Griezmann and working with Simeone.

Dee-bala

On the subject of workrate, again, go watch the juventus-ajax game. Watch what he does against De Jong in the first half and how the first half goes, then watch what happens in the second half after he went off injured, and pay attention to De Jong

We basically don't have a midfield or a defense. Surely that's where our money should be going first.

We will waste all Summer chasing an impossible target and then panic buy late into the season. Typical Woodward.
This! We are already going down the same path we’ve gone down before so many times. How does he fit into the mess we have now. Having a talented player who plays well in a Serie A setup doesn’t mean he will automagically fit into our team.

Dybala to leave his guaranteed trophy a season club with guaranteed CL for the worst United side for many a year, to play Europa and hope the likes of a Wolves and Watford don’t overtake us. Bet he is chomping at the bit. No way this happens unless he is purely money driven like Sanchez.
I really don’t see the motivation of him joining us other than money or perhaps he has been a united fan all his life.

I'm not a fan of him personally.

I am a fan of him but only in an environment like Serie A or La Liga. I personally think he will struggle over here. He’s not particularly fast and doesn’t really cover a whole lot of ground. I think he is a piece in the puzzle that comes too soon and will amount to nothing unless we have a better team already assembled and well-drilled.

There's not much to explain. Juventus were on top in the first half because Dybala shut down De Jong. He went off and De Jong started to find space and ajax played them off the park in the second half

If he can make the step up to a striker role like Aguero did, it would be good. Whether he will be able to do this, remains to be seen.

Agree that this is very like some of the inconsistent signings of past few years. My vote is get everything sorted that ole needs and if there is still cash and we think he can play in his best position then do it. Need to get the functional parts of the team sorted first.

Are you butthurt that he's the greatest player ever?
For someone who doesn't care, you really seem triggered; please don't deviate this thread and be responsible for once

I like Dybala from what I saw of him over the past couple of seasons, it’s clear Juve have built around Ronaldo which has had a negative impact on him but it’s also clear Dybala is a quality player and is an upgrade on what we have.

Question is whether he’s coming in to fit a certain role or if he’s a marquee player who’ll be wasted out of position and simply bought for commercial/marketing purposes ? If we managed to do a swap deal with Juve for Lukaku then I’m all for it as maybe as a false 9 with a new right sided forward (Pepe, Sancho, Bale ?) and one of Rashford or Martial either side of Dybala he’d fit a system/formation instead of being shoehorned in just because.

Would love Dybala. It's been so long since we have had a technically gifted forward.
