What the hell. Betis are totally ridiculous today. First time watching them but just how fecking good are Firpo, Carvalho and Celso. The CM duo have especially shat on Madrid's midfield.

They're similar to Wolves, give the top clubs a good game but very poor v bottom half particularly away from home.

Poor from Zidane btw, we get you want Bale out of the club but denying him a final game....he remains an unused sub.

Have Real just given up or is Zidane now realising how vital Ronaldo was?
If you'd offered them the chance to end their season the day after Ajax second leg they'd have signed up. They have won 3 out of their final 9 La Liga games.

Have to say Benzema has been woeful this afternoon, surely his future is in doubt this summer?

I actually hope they fall flat on their faces.

I want to see what Zidane does with Vinicius, a right footed LW that doesn't seem to have a lot of goal at this point, when Hazard joins them Vinicius will have a lot of pressure to perform in limited minutes.

Bale Straight down the tunnel while others are on the pitch.

He's gone this summer, I wonder who'll pay his wages with his injury concerns. Woody? :nervous:

Can only see him being loaned out, bit like they did with James who joined Bayern on two year loan.

Pathetic last match by Madrid, and Zidane has a huge task ahead for 19-20.

The way they have treated Bale in his last season is shameful. One of the key players for their "4 UCL in 5 years" success has been kicked out the back door like an old bitch. Hideous club sometimes.

What were people expecting? I said loads of times he's not a miracle worker or a manager with definitive style. He's good at man and in game management.

Everything depends on the next market otherwise he will be sacked and this needless period will hurt his legacy a bit.

Should have went to Juve to win some league stuff there.

If he's willing to come to United with Real paying half his wages. I wouldn't mind that type of deal for Bale as we're severely lacking up front, he can play 3 positions and is quality.

Except that he'll will be 2/3 thirds of the season injured.
 There's that but its better than trying to sign him for (what ever Real want).

Hoping (based on no evidence) that he'll do a Robben who hardly got injured later on in his career.

I say screw it, we've invested heavily on the kids, give them a chance. Go sign Joao Felix, Mendy, De Ligt, Ndombele, Lo Celso, whoever. Play Odegaard and Brahim and Vini and Rodrygo. Leave the Hazards and Pogbas and Eriksens where they are.

If we finish 4th, whatever. At least we get to see whether they're good enough.

Florentino is such a headless chicken when it comes to transfers :houllier::houllier::houllier:

Bad form by Zidane denying Bale a send-off.

Odriozola, Reguilon, Fede Valverde, Llorente, Ceballos, Asensio, Diaz, Vinicius Junior, Ödegaard, and Mariano Diaz. Additionally they bought Eder Militao and Rodrygo. Hakimi and Theo Hernandez are not going to be at the club.

Odriozola - Eder Militao - x - Reguilon
Fede Valverde - Llorente - Ödegaard/Ceballos,
Brahim Diaz/Asensio - Mariano Diaz - Vinicius Junior/Rodrygo

Real could line up a super young team and they'd struggle to finish top half of the table. Those players weren't cheap either.

That list of players sounds great but what if we lose the first three games.
We would be talking about how we miss experience,investment...
I don't know if Florentino/club can afford another season like this.

Make it clear from the off that that is the plan. Takes some of the pressure away. We've won so much recently, we can survive a couple seasons without trophies, so long as showing off kids with real talent, potential and effort. And it's not like we don't have experience either - Sergio, Courtois, Benzema, Casemiro should all stay. Carvajal and Marcelo too...

There always needs to be a balance.

Militão and Rodrigo were 50 million each and they’re very young. Jovic will be around 60 million.

You’re building a team for the future but this is Real Madrid, not a FM save. Without the experienced players in there the young players will get slammed for not being good enough to win big trophies.

This strategy of buying loads of high rated young players for a lot of money can be very risky if you’re buying players like Hazard on top of it that will take their game time so it goes both ways. They need to find the right balance.

I don’t see Vinicius having a big role in the team while Hazard is there. I don’t see Jovic and Rodrygo both playing a lot while Benzema is still getting a lot of minutes... and if they don’t play they won’t develop and they’ll end up failing to justify their price tags.

It’s very important for the club to turn things around and start making some good decisions.

No, you can’t.

The Bernabeu is unforgiving, they won’t have the patience. Madrid has to go to every season wanting to win everything.

This team needs to seriously compete for the league next season or heads will roll. With Barca buying De Jong, De Ligt and Griezmann... Perez can’t afford to bet on the future of the club when his head is on the line next year already.

Why not. I say let his head roll let him put his head on the line. If there is one thing the bernabeu is a sucker for is hungry young talent. Put a lot of that on the pitch, play some good football, and for the most part we'll understand and accept not winning trophies for another year

And i'm not saying play only kids btw. We do have some experienced fellas who would stay play a key role on the team

Zidane shouldn't have gone back.
How often does it work out old players/managers going back to a club? the saying is "never go back" for a reason.. you won't see Pep going back to Barca, nah he's too much of a genius.

Oh I agree that Perez leaving wouldn't be such a terrible thing.

I'm just saying that with this much pressure on his shoulders and Barca getting players like Griezmann there's no way he's going to bet on a team for the future without buying a few superstars at their peak in the summer. If Madrid doesn't win the league or the Champions League next season then it's going to very tough for him, especially since getting Neymar or Mbappe doesn't seem likely at all in the near future.

I agree with Peyro in this one.I can't with another year like this.
Bernabéu like fresh talent, but what about a good soap opera, with a flashy presentation, Marca with covers, interviewing his grandmother...
Florentino with a dragon in the Transfer market

Messi rolling back the years as a false 9, two goals in a minute v Eibar.

Edit: Guess they'll play him there in the cup final.

Mbappé 2022

Thing is....which player is out there who would truly get the juices going? Hazard? Eriksen? Pogba? I mean, great players one and all, but, meh. Now if we were to sign Salah and Kane, sure, by all means Tito Flo, go sign Salah and Kane :D

I mean, between giving kids a chance and see what happens and signing second tier stars and still end up with the same problem -not enough goals- and win nothing, give me the kids

I'm calling it. Sétien will join Barça this summer.
Valverde is staying, president more or less confirmed it already.

No point appointing a 60 year old no name midtable club manager who won 3 of his last 10 games (1 against Madrid in vacation mode, 1 against 10 men releagation team, 1 against another relegation team).

@giorno I am happy with the project of young people (looking forward to seeing Rodrygo) but on the other hand really curious to see Zidane with complete freedom.
I'm not sure that Zidane wants Vini (at least at the chiringuito they said his setting starts to wonder).
Reguilón played well but he wants another LB, and however he likes Valverde, perhaps because he looks more prepared.
I would like Odegaard but if he didn't want him in Castilla perhaps he won't want him now either.
At least with James, Ceballos, Llorente has not changed his ideas at all.
Tell me your list of signings. Add your personal whim :D

Now It's imposible. He was among my candidates too.
I didn't expect Bartomeu trusting Valverde so early, but letting cool the emotions of the 4-0, would you sack the coach after two consecutive "dobletes"?

Betis beat Barca, Madrid, Milan away this season
But also missed on Europe, after a diabolical 2nd half of the season :(

Eased him back after the injury, he misses the copa and suddenly it's "Zidane doesn't want vinicius" "vinicius unhappy with zidane" etc

Reguilón played well but he wants another LB
He wants another starter who can actually displace Marcelo if he doesn't improve. Reguilon is not that

Tell me your list of signings. Add your personal whim :D
De Ligt, Salah, a top LB and 2 starters in midfield(eriksen/pogba-ndombele? Something like that. Need energy and pace and players who are very strong in duels). Those are the necessary ones. Then a striker. We're going for Jovic, i don't know him so can't judge. I'd go for Joao Felix though.
Also minutes to Odegaard and Brahim. Evaluate Rodrygo. Vini to be a starter
