Roberts, Hartley and Salmon have all been out on loan, so shouldn't be too surprised at their inclusion on the list.

Charlie Devlin is the one surprise, as she seemed to be playing quite regularly towards the end of the season, including starting in the all important game at Spurs. Unless there are any personal reasons for her wanting leave, then it might suggest that there are some additions on the horizon that would further limit her game time. Either way, she shouldn't have any difficulty finding herself a new club for next season.

Hopefully they all manage to find themselves new clubs easily enough.

A tad sad letting go Lucy, the great-great granddaughter of Charlie ‘The Ghost’ Roberts, first league and cup winner for United ever with the ‘Outcasts FC’.

No worries
Just seen this. I'm also surprised at Devlin's release as well. I think she'll find another club easily enough. Best of luck to all of them. Excited to see who will replace them!

It's a shame to see them go, but understandable. They're all young and talented and they all need to be playing matches to develop further. Who knows, a couple of years down the line and maybe Ebony Salmon (who's only 18) or one of the others could come back as a starter.

Contracts are shorter in the women's game, and squads are smaller, so longterm or repeat loans don't really fit with the pattern. Plus, with the women playing fewer games than the men over a season, the chances are that we won't need to rotate dramatically when it comes to our Cup games.

Charlie Devlin probably got closest to being a starter, but I suspect we're planning to bring in someone more experienced as first choice striker. That could have seen Charlie drop further down the squad list, at a time when she needs to play more rather than less.

I think they'll all find clubs for next year. I know Sheffield United loved their loan players for a start. Good luck to them all.

She's certainly one of those who people are speculating about. She's 26, and has already won trophies with City. She's in the England squad for the World Cup this summer.

For people unfamiliar with her, she's a Mancunian (Prestwich) and plays as a defender - I think she's played as a centreback or right back, and occasionally as a defensive midfielder as well. She's already announced that she's leaving Manchester City.

We shall see.
