Rightly or wrongly it seems it's De ligt, Felix and Sancho in no particular order that have won most Caftards' hearts and are set to be roller coaster transfer sagas this summer.

Had a very brief conversation with a poster who was less than positive about the chances of any of these players ending up at United shirt next season.

Anyone else even a little bit more optimistic?

Is that a broken down rollercoaster that was unable to even leave the station?

Whatever it is, it can't be more of a disappointment than the Game Of Thrones final season. 7 seasons of good work undone by absolute, arrogant dross. United is the opposite. Seven steaming piles of... Yea not getting too excited or too pessimistic either

Somewhat realistic:

Dream CB: De Ligt
Dream RB: Cancelo
Dream DM: Neves
Dream CM: Not sure, Bruno Fernandes?
Dream RW: Sancho
Dream ST: Rebic
Dream False 9: Felix

If we get just one of these I’ll likely be more than happy with the transfer window.

The sort of somewhat realistic thing I can see being possible (but won't happen, so just football manager teams) over the next 2 summers would be something like this:
GK: De Gea stays
Rb: Wan Bissaka
Cb: De Ligt, Lindelof improves
Lb: Tierney
Cdm: Rodri Hernandez?
Cm: Tielemans
CAM: Pogba stays/Isco comes as part of deal
New wingers: Jadon Sancho & Nicolas Pepe
St: Rashford/Martial develop

What our 2 summers will actually look like:

Gk: Romero/Dean Henderson
Rb: Meunier
Cb: Maguire
Lb: Shaw
Cdm: Adrian Rabiot
Cm: Partey/Rice/Longstaff/Mctominay
Cam: Bruno Fernandes (2020)
Rw: Nicolas Pepe/Sancho (2020)
St: Rashford
Lw: Martial

Felix is too high risk for 100m + imo. A long line of Portuguese league players that had a good season.

De ligt is no brainer if we can pull it off. So is sancho for certain prices and dybala at quoted prices.

Part of dream summer is lukaku and sanchez leaving for Italy and for a good fee in lukakus case.

I am pro boosting the squad with players like James and longstaff too. Every player shouldn't be 50m

De Ligt
Onana (If De Gea leaves, would be good to have a keeper who can start attacks from the back)
Felix (Replacement for Lukaku)
Bruno (If Pogba leaves)
Some good DM
Cancelo (If we are intent on bringing in a FB)
Ndombele (Replacement for Herrera?)

Probably should have said an emotional roller coaster that'll doubtlessly end in heartbreak.

My Dream Transfers Summer 2019
  • Kai Havertz
  • Ruben Neves
  • Alban Lafont
Not going to happen.

De Ligt, Felix and Sancho are also not going to happen. Okay, Sancho maybe very small slim chance.

Martial/Rashford--------
-------------Felix-----Sancho
-------Pogba--Havertz-------------
----------N'Dombele------------
Shaw-DeLigt-Lindelof-Cancelo
----------De Gea-----------------

Atal is interesting at RB and N'Dombele isn't the only DM, but his blend of strength and passing from deep seems like a real safe bet for a big team in the Prem as a 6.

We probably won't spend 425M and keep Pogba and De Gea, but that looks like the dream summer to me basically.

I truly think that some players will want to come here and be known as the 'legends' that brought United back to the top. Not everyone in this day and age, but I think it would matter to some. Along with huge wages of course. If you become a star at United, you for sure will be hugely more marketable than anyone at City, PSG, almost anywhere....

Every year post Sir Alex it gets tougher, but I still have faith.

N'Dombele as DM in a midfield 3 with Pogba and Hevertz. No way, mate! He isn't Kante, he isn't even a DM. Who'll protect theback 4?

Getting those three will cost us close to £300 million. That's not even getting into whether they'd wanna come here. Doubt will sign any of them.

I'd sign Sancho and Pepe for about £150m, or Sancho and Jovic for the same price.

Then I'd sign a RB like Wan Bissaka for £50m and midfielder like Ndombele for £50m. For £250m you've got a team that could challenge for the title now.

With Woodward in charge though.. can't see it happening. Probably spend about £100m on naff all and see Solsjkear sacked around January.

On a side note, don't think we have any chance of De Ligt. Think he'll be off to Barca or Bayern. Personally I'd look to pick up a defender around the £20m region, there's some talented players at lower teams e.g. Pontus Jansson at Leeds or one of Burnley's defenders.

We need a top tier centre back. One of the best going. Unless that happens pretty much any other transfer is just dressing.

De Ligt, Felix and Jovic would be my choices of the ones linked so far. Obviously two of those are clearly heading to Spain and I think the other will end up at City.

Nicolos Pepe is who we should be targeting. The boy is 23 and reminds me a lot of Robben. If I were Woodward I would try to get him than paying silly money for felix or sancho.

I mean in my wildest dreams I would hope that we could do a deal for DeLigt then turn attention to Sancho, Felix and Wan-Bissaka, but in reality we really need at least 2 central midfielders and even if we somehow got DeLigt, Sancho and Wan-Bissaka that’s probably 210-220 mil right there. Maybe a deal could be done for Rabiot at just a decent sign on fee. Then another midfielder. That’s probably the best part of 300 mil right there and I’m just not convinced the club owners have the sort of willingness to spend that much and I’ve been generous on how much Sancho would cost.

I hope we can do something like that in 2 summer transfer windows. With those players, we could play 433, diamond formation, 352, etc

CB - DeLigt, Upamecano, Romagnoli, Koulibailly
RB - Wan Bissaka
DM - Rice, Ascacibar
CM - NDOmbele. Barella
RW - Sancho, Pepe
LW - Bale (loan)
ST - Felix

If we could sign 5 of those players for each position, promote Tuanzebe, Gomes, Greenwood and sign 2/3 younger players like Godfrey, James, Pedro and clear out for various reasons 8/9 players including big names like Matic, Pogba, Martial and Lukaku, then I would be very confident of a top four finish with a young side that can grow and challenge for the title with a year or two
