Bad feeling he's going to end up here. :(

Obviously ability wise he's more than good enough but I don't like him or his attitude. No doubt he'd be asking for Sanchez money too.

Let him rot somewhere. He's an absolute joker and we certainly shouldn't be looking at him. The baggage is like Pogba but maybe even worse.

Good player, but his hairstyle is awful. Needs a haircut before considering signing him.

Screams of Barca trying to get a better deal to me.
There's no way he'd announced he's leaving without some form of contact with a club.

He has a buyout, but that has to be paid in full, so a 105m deal or whatever it is, isn't really the easiest for any club to pay, but Griezmann has said he's leaving, so it puts a bit of pressure on Atletico to sell

He’s just turned 28. What is it with this obsession on here with players turning to shit once they start edging towards 30?
There are recent examples. People fired sarcastic “he’s 30 now, next year he’s 45” when people questioned Sanchez’ age. Result: he looks done.
RvP had one amazing year, turned 30 and it went quickly downhill after. New management had to do with it for one year maybe, but he simply wasn’t up to it anymore afterwards.
Rio Ferdinand and Vidic both did not go far beyond 30 before they regressed hard. Rooney the same.
There are more examples.

Not everyone is Falcao/Sanchez/RvP, but not everyone is Messi/Ronaldo/Giggs/zlatan either. Three of those have the perfect build for a prolonged career and all four of then the perfect mentality to make use of that body. Mother time should not entirely be dismissed in these discussions.

Also, Matic.

Is this guy just an idiot. Outright said a couple seasons ago he's most likely leaving and didn't. Said this season that he will be leaving and yet his destination seems unclear. Comes across as a right plonker. Kind of guy we all know where he's got a job interview lined up and tells everyone he's about to start a new job based off that alone.

I love it. feck Griezmann. Terrible attitude and France won the world cup carrying him through the tourno.

He did score 4 goals and gave 3 assists. Given that he was playing in sort of n°8-n°10 position, I think we can say that he had his role in France winning the world cup.

He did have a deal with Barca but it seems the dressing room have vetoed it which speaks volumes in all honesty. Problem for Griezmann is most Atleti fans want him gone now, and his announcement that he will be leaving has put him at a no going back point now. For what it's worth, I think he will still end up at Barca, unless PSG get itchy feet and decide to get him.

France didn't carry him, he was an instrumental part of the team, creating chances, playmaking and leading the pressing game.

Honestly, I think opinions of his attitude are highly exaggerated.

He loves to market himself, the example being those La Decision videos. However, he is a committed professional on the pitch and gives it his all. Unlike Sanchez, he isn't past it, and I wouldn't mind him here if he wants to come. No more offering 500K a week wages of course, but I reckon he is worth 250-300K if he demands it.

This. If anything, Giroud scored zip

Yeah for all his cringeness he is a fantastic footballer. If Lukaku does go then we'll need a new forward and we wouldn't get much better than Griezmann.

What for his 15 goals a season? He isn’t an out and out forward, that’s what we need. He also would struggle with the physicality of the premier league. Not to mention he poses little aerial threat.

wrong comments there, not that I support signing him. But he is not someone who will be impacted by physicality, doesnt concede possession and is often strong in air for his size. His ball retention under pressure is also good. None of which can be said about Lukaku even after being strong with typical epl player size match.

Well if you are only going by league goals then Lukaku has only scored 12 and 16 goals in his two seasons here.

Since he's been at Atletico Griezmann has scored 133 goals in 257 games. Better than a 1 in 2 ratio. He's clearly a much better footballer than Lukaku and has a lot more to his game which will help bring the best out of the players around him.

Surely Barcelona can't afford De Ligt AND Griezmann? Did Griezmann announce he was leaving without actually having a deal agreed? Seems strange. Who would take him now? Maybe us, Barcelona and Bayern?

Allegedly, the story goes this way.

Griezmann decides he no longer wants to stay at Atleti.
Contacts Barcelona, deal is agreed, Barcelona know he'll be cheaper from July.
Starts a new documentary about him leaving.
Atletico want none of that nonsense again.
Atletico slip to journalists that Griezmann will leave.
Atletico announce Griezmann has told them that he won't remain with them,
Griezmann is forced to announce he's leaving by this.

Barcelona can't say anything now, because otherwise Atletico will send us to court for contacting Griezmann, and can't buy him until his release clause lowers to 120M on July, 1st.

And, news of him joining us gives teams leverage in order to negotiate for Coutinho or Suarez.

Ah thanks, that makes sense. So do you think Barcelona are still going for him for 120m in July?

If reports are to believed, Barca are expecting money from the sales of Andre Gomes, Malcom, Denis Suarez and potentially Dembele to. So this should help pay for this transfer,

From numerous interviewsband videos, it is very obvious that he's not a very intelligent man.

Would take him in a heartbeat. Felix doesn't seem to be moving this summer, which is the only player in that position I'd prefer to Griezmann due to his ceiling. Griezmann is genuinely one of the best players on the planet, would work well with a lot of our players and is extremely hard working. Not to add, he has experience playing in a team devoid of any structured attacking football.

For the right price, we could get a few years out of him yet.

If I had a pick from Griezman or Lukaku, it would be Griezman, it's tough one to get done if it's trying to happen.

Doubt that they will pay 120m plus his huge wages. Maybe a few years ago
£120m? feck me no one's paying that. Surely not even Barcelona. What was he thinking with his announcement

120m Euros, so 105m pounds. It isnt that much, but his age and huge wages will be an obstacle on top of that fee

He is very clever au contraire. He is constantly on a wind up and he is loving it.
I don't like what he does in the media but he is sure following a strategy that will land him in a club who is in the CL and a huge salary bump

If it turns out that Barca and nobody else is in for him, I think that would put us in a very strong position.

Whilst I personally don’t think we should be in for him, they’ve let it out publicly that he’s going and (potentially) doesn’t have anywhere to go.

That means whichever club does go in for him would be bonkers to pay the full release clause.

I’d go full Levy on it and offer €70m with a week left in the window.

I am of the view it was mourinho and united who jumped at a chance to sign a no9 like lukaku than him rejecting a move to united. The briefing that followed also told the same story .

Big salary bump on reported 850K/PW gross? I'd say there is around zero chance of any bump, let alone a big one.
