VAR checks have been hilarious, though some of the decisions are correct it's so unnatural to the flow of a game. Been impressed with Barco performance, Braut Haland should be good considering his reputation and Dalot from the individual player highlights to my suprise defended well in his fixture.

Some of them are ridiculous, taking 2 minutes to check a clear onside/offside. Understandable taking a while with some debatable ones such as the Mali 2nd. Been a fair few incredibly tight decisions but they're making the most of very simple ones.

So, commenting since it could generate some speculation involving United.
Norway currently leading 7-0 over Honduras, with talented striker Erling Braut Haaland having scored 5 goals so far, with 35 minutes left of the game. Haaland used to play for Molde, but transferred to Red Bull Salzburg in January '19. And yes, he is the son of Alf Inge Haaland, famously stamped by Roy Keane.

Norway could have been 10-11 goals up with 30 mins left to play

Think Honduras have thrown the game. They aren't as bad as this and suspicious odds at times. Also a few of the goals were a bit dodgy. They've managed to go from looking competent v Uruguay to being unable to play football. They'd have lost anyway of course but pretty sure they've lost huge on purpose since they were out and decided to make a bit of cash.

Not doing it can also get you killed. Honduras have thrown games at a few other age groups. Some fixed games in the local league as well. It's a very very odd performance. Watch the defending for the goals. No effort to mark and they've gifted the ball to Norway under no pressure on the edge of the box multiple times.

After watching them against NZ - yes they can be as bad as this.

Completely different. New Zealand are better than Norway. The goals and chances here are also created by Honduras not defending. New Zealand had excellent passing and movement to create most of their chances. 30 seconds ago Honduras defender just header it across his box to 2 Norway players, they are trying to concede.

Dont agree with you - Norway were very poor against NZ and deserved to lose. But they showed in the qualifiers how good they can be.

Having said that - Honduras have totally given up. Which explains it a lot more than throwing the game.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"

Did they bet on more than one red card too?

Extremely dodgy, have no time whatsoever for final group stage games with basketball scorelines (not as bothered with the win-win scenario of playing out a draw).

Hope we get two out of Panama win, and Nigeria/Korea not losing. There's absolutely no way in hell they are so so far behind. For shame, at youth level as well... :annoyed:

Those kids threw the match? If so they are feeling ridiculously conflicted about it, or they’re tremendous actors.

Ex-Norwegian player and journalist watched the match and in addition to this tweet commented that he thought it was the most obviously fixed game he's ever witnessed.

The fact that several Honduras-players cried after the game to me indicates that this wasn't a thrown game. If it was - they certainly are good actors.
You don't need all 11 players to be in on it. Imagine being one of those not in on it, I'd cry too.

If anyone rewatches the goals and the chances it is pretty obvious. Was multiple times Honduras gave the ball away on the edge of their box or did weird clearances for no reason. Honduras are not a good team at all, but they are simply nowhere near as poor as what were yesterday.

On the crying, I've seen plenty of teams pretend to be upset/angry after fixing. Seen keepers deliberately concede goals then have a proper go at the defence etc as well as other players crying in the past.

I dont know , hard to tell if the match was fixed. Doesn't matter. Norway will propably not get through the group stage anyway, but Haaland has a decent chance at becoming a world class striker. And Norways new golden generation will kick some ass in a couple of years.

It certainly isn't impossible. Panama can't win against Saudi Arabia - and Argentina must beat South Korea - which is likely.

Maybe a 30% chance

It does, of course. But I see where you are coming from, it has no relevance and shouldn't taint how impressive Norway have been.

Nobody is suggesting it is Norway bribing Honduran players to have an outside chance. Most likely betting behind it. E.g. imagine the odds on Haland being top scorer with 0 goals and his side on 0 points going into most likely their last game.

FIFA investigating for match fixing, doesn't mean much as they never do anything anyway.

Two great goals in France Mali so far. Panama look good for their win as well so far.

Any talents standing out so far?
Barco been excellent for Argentina first two games, not done as much today. Singh been good for New Zealand. No proper stand outs though. Haland scored 9 in a game yesterday but it really wasn't as impressive as it sounds, he was awful when Norway needed him the first two games (albeit he didn't get much help).

Cheers, I know Barco and Haland from FM but not Singh.

Portugal are out if they don't score. If it finishes 2-2 they go through on fair play points.
Portugal got nowhere near enough urgency for what they should. Not sure they realise they are going out (or I'm completely wrong and a draw is enough).

Draw is enough, if you are right about Fair Play
