I'm sold.

To be honest, the numbers banded about for AWB were crazy. If Palace were even remotely serious about those figures then we're doing the right thing here. We can't have a long, drawn out saga for a right back with so many key areas to fill, plus this should leave us with more money to explore other options.

That has been their business model for he past few windows, buy talented youngsters and if they fail sell them to an English club for a profit, rinse and repeat. Prime examples being that Yerry Mina, Lucas Digne, Andre Gomes all signed by Everton.
Yerry Mina is the best example, signed for 11 million euros from the Brazilian league, has an OK WC and boom 50 million (that’s what they wanted us to pay allegedly) and sold to Everton after 6 months for 32 million euros plus a buy back clause.
True, I know what they do, and the English teams fall for it consistently, more money than sense is very apt.

True, PL teams having truck loads of cash has made the league more competitive but at the same time the PL clubs are made to overpay every time they buy a player, be it from other leagues or from other PL teams. If Junior Firpo was playing for Everton or Watford, he would have cost double the rumoured 30 million euros. Same for many other highly rated youngsters. Real signed Cabellos and Hernandez for 10-15 mill each. A youngster with similar level of talent would cost at least 3-4 times that in the PL. Just look at Palace quoting 50-70 million for a FB who had one good season.

Not a tweet, but norwegian newspaper vg reports that Sander Berge said in Viasat studio today during the buildup for the champions league final, that a transfer is quite likely for him this summer.
Confronted with rumours of interest from Tottenham last winter he replied:
“I guess it is like everything else in football. There are a lot of rumours, as soon as you start playing well you’re linked right, left and center. Everyone has an opinion. With regards to Tottenham it was not much, and certainly no concrete offers as far as i know.

One of Norways most talented players Sander Berge - 21 year old who plays for Genk in Belgium.

6'4 - quick, good With the ball. Perhaps Norways biggest talent together With Ajer (Celtic), Ødegård and Haaland (Red Bull)

Never heard...
Been linked to Spurs this winter, last summer heavily linked to Sevilla with several bids rejected.
Given his nationality it would surprise me if no journalists make the simple point of connecting him to OGS as Herrera/Matic replacement.

De Bruyne, Ndidi, Koulibaly, Kabasele, Milenkovic-Savic, Courtois, Bailey, Defour, Carrasco, Origi, Benteke, Castagne. They've had some decent youngsters last decade.
Trossard will move to a bigger team this year I think, as will Berge.

The one to keep an eye on though is in my opinion Jhon Lucumi. 20 year old left footed centerback from Colombia. Oozes class but is still raw.

Feet up at home.
People who are against the sensible signing on Meunier, deserve seeing Ashley Young sign another new contract next summer.
I heartily endorse this post. Cheap enough for a good few years' service offers at least some threat we've not had for ages from the right. Get a great center back in with him give Shaw another season to judge him and that's the cheapest way to improve the defence. Then move onto a midfielder or two and two attackers. I can't see how we can do much more in one Summer.
