He's been in bad form for a while now. On form he is great at timing his runs from deep, and finding space to score goals. He is a great goalscorer with good composure in front of goal. He is also quite creative and can pull off good through balls and flicks that can open the defense. Defensively he has great stamina and is very good at pressing the ball. Oh, and he also love to nutmeg people.

He's in terrible form now though, and if we had someone who could play I would call on him to get dropped for a few games, unfortunately the squad is down to its bare bones. He's still young so I still believe he'll come good, and he also have been good at times this season, but his form has been very up and down in my view

He's a raumdeutuer, which translates as something like 'space investigator'. They float about looking for space to link play, score and assist. These types of players are often technically questionable. Thomas Muller is probably the most famous example.

Alli has 77 career goals and 67 assists but has been absent of significant end product this season so all you're left with is his technical ineptitude.

I used to think he looked absolutely brilliant circa 2016 - 2018, but I don't know if I was blinded by his fantastic scoring record for a non-striker. Does he contribute that much, other than goals? I'm actually surprised that he has so many assists @Classical Mechanic , that's actually a very good number. Since last season though, he just hasn't looked 'right' at all, compared to how he looked when he first signed for Spurs.

He's a great second striker when Kane is present. They need to stop fannying about with him in midfield.

Personally I'm not much of a fan of this type of player. Unfortunately Southgate wants to persist with an Alli type and not a real 10, that means that Lingard will probably get in the England squad for the Nations League finals.

He's had a poor season except for about one month when he scored couple of goals. Has massively regressed, similarly to the rest of this Spurs team (except for Sissoko, Winks and Son). They also need an overhaul, but I'm not sure if they can actually spend any money.

Thought he looked tired/out of it during the world cup too.

For his sake, hopefully just a long extended period of bad form where he needs some rest / reboot. Or did he pick up any major injuries that might have seen him change his style?

He has been carrying an injury all season, has lost a lot of confidence as a result and has mostly had to be played out of his main position due to injuries in the squad. He hasnt had a great season as a result but he is a very talented kid who hopefully will come back next season and tear the league up again.

He wasn't great last season either though, I remember him getting serious stick up until the Chelsea game when he scored twice (?)

2 underwhelming seasons on the bounce isn't great for a player of his age as questions will start to be asked about whether or not this is just his level

I do like him though and always found the comparisons with Lingard a joke because he's miles better than him

He’s not been at his best for a while.

I don’t think he impacts the game enough when he plays CM. He’s better as a support striker.

At the minute, he is Bran from Game of Thrones.

I'm sure he is important, but as yet it's not been made clear why.

Seriously.....he needs to 'play off' Kane, without Kane he becomes a bit redundant.

I think he's an incredible footballer but he's easy to dislike due to his fiery temperament. The space he finds and his runs are so intelligent and must be a nightmare to play against. He's absolutely brilliant at making 'something out of nothing'. Only issue is that he seems to have ongoing injury concerns that are not fully addressed and recovered due the sheer nature of the results business.

He's a SS with an average technique and vision, no different from Muller but at least Muller is quite physical and has got some bite in him. Shame Pochettino keeps playing his best player (Eriksen) on the wing just to accommodate Alli in the centre.

Striker playing in midfield. Questionable technique in general play but normally a very composed and efficient finisher. He has the legs to make those runs from deep and as he matures Spurs will hope he can improve in his all round game to become more of a play-making factor.

Spurs utilize his abilities superbly, you really see his limitations for England where it becomes clear that even someone like Lingard is far more of a rounded player.

Lingard is more agile and quicker in close spaces than him but just as useless when he's not scoring.

Every single time I see him play (bar maybe a couple of games) he is wank. I must've been unlucky I know but I just don't see a truly great player in him. So many misplaced, overhit passes, annonymous for large parts. Not endowed with great pace or physique, too.

Same here. He looks awful. What do the spurs fans think?

He's got good numbers, or had the season before or so. So maybe he's v.good week in week out but considering I must've seen him 20/30 times over the last 3 years and he's been wank in all but a few of them I either picked the wrong ones or I'm watching different player.

Was really bad. Would have preferred to see Lucas for him from the get go.

He's a young player who had a poor season and a poor final. It happens, there's no need to overreact.

His first two PL seasons were absolutely exceptional for a player of his age and he still has plenty of time.

Every time I see him play, he goes missing. Likes do all the one touch flick tricks and most of the time it doesn't come off. His game is totally dependent on those flicks or nutmegs, apart from that he used to be good in air but right now nothing seems to work for him.

I’ve never really understood the fuss with this bloke. Had a good 6-12months when he burst on the scene and went straight into their team after signing from MK but after that not much at all.

He was great against Ajax in the second leg. Totally dreadful today but so was everyone else.
