They are going do be a force to reckon with as long as Klopp is there. However when he leaves they are as fecked as one could be. No one at Liverpool is going to be able to repeat what he has done.
Yes, they are going to have a post-Klopp depression, perhaps more brutal than our post-SAF depression.

I'm out shopping. Turned off after the second goal. Now they're everywhere with their shirts and their scarves. Fun times.

There a very good team ATM but they’re a Cup team IMO. No way they’ll win a title but they have a great set up. Two key ingredients any player needs regardless of status is desire & passion. Trust me if you have them you can do anything. Henderson lifting the Champions league trophy just proves that.

At least you won't have to buy toilet paper, just take some of their scarves.

So what one season. Yet they still didn’t win & blew a healthy points lead.
Exactly, that's the part of the narrative that is being glossed over. They bottled the league and had they come up against a capable team last night they could very well have bottled that too. Fortunately for them, they played Spurs

The CL is a glorified FA Cup set to music

Of course there is, they just won the Champions League.
It's not because of that. If Spurs won the CL they would not be the best side in Europe.

Liverpool, City, Juventus and Barcelona all have legitimate claims to that title IMO. It comes down to personal preference at the end of the day

They didn't win, but they pushed City all the way.

There is a legitimate argument to them being the best side in Europe right now.
It's between them and City IMO, which is a horrible thought. Barca, Bayern, Madrid, Juve aren't as good right now. PSG are serial bottlers. Ajax have potential but still aren't quite there. Spurs may have knocked out City but again they aren't quite there. Can't think of any others.

Obviously Liverpool fans are cockahoop and think so now.

Nah VAR will massacre them

Think Ajax would have at least given them a good game and City would have beaten them last night.

Is it possible for Liverpool to land any of the big trophies next year?
Doubt they'll be getting 97 points again. But I also doubt City will get 98.

Reckon it'll be close again but not as close as this season. Something like 90-92 points for Liverpool and 94-96 for City. Liverpool benefitted from a lot of shite decisions this season so I doubt that'll be repeated, but they'll still get quite a lot of points since I can see major squad improvements this summer. Pep seems to do well at maintaining a semi constant points tally so he'll still have City be at least in the mid 90s, even if they lost Kompany and maybe Sane.

Berba are you seriously saying a team with one league loss all season bottled it? Please explain

How can you watch that unless you are a Liverpool supporter? I turned my tv off early it just hurt to watch them too much. Rather just moan here having watched as little as I could. Then forget this bloody season and look forward to next one after a break.
No the cringe was with us too. Its like Nicky Butt being captain and lifting your 3rd CL. You love him, as we do Hendo, but not in that position.

Maybe they'll decide to sell.
"kicking them out" was not really the right term to use but I don't see why they would sell in the immediate future unless someone like the Saudis suddenly want to take over.

But that's whole another can of worms...

Maybe It’s a weird feeling but the last decade shows us if we can gather a good functioning young team you can take relatively easy serious attempts in Champions League. We saw Barcelona had 4 in 10 years and Real had 4 in 5 years. Now these Scouser were back to back finalist and won 1 of them. The point is i feels now the number of serious contenders in Europe is fewer than ever.

Now Real are back to the rebuilding phase and Barca will have difficult time ahead. Bayern and Juventus are coming to the end of their cycle and PSG is the rich man’ Tottenham. We need to invest fast to be back asap or Pool and City will be the new Real-Barca in Europe for this decade.

They were 7 points clear
Klopp 100% refused to give up on the CL while only losing one league game all season and finishing on 97 points. Pep completely and wilfully threw away (Delph, Mahrez, WTF?) a piss easy CL trophy to ensure finishing on 98 points.

Who bottled what?

I think the obvious difference between United and Liverpool over the last few years is patience.
Klopp has been at Liverpool since Van Gaal was at United, which feels like ages ago.
Since then, Mourinho has come in, made questionable signings, and left.
We've now replaced him with a manager that most don't believe in, and who will likely be replaced before he knows it.
Klopp on the other hand, has had all the time he needs to develop his side into one of the best in Europe.
He's been backed heavily in the market, but he's been backed more heavily by having a board that believe in him and his 'project'
Our board could learn a thing or two from our dirty Scouse neighbours.
The thing is - it's not just the patience. Klopp had a certain style of playing that he was able to buy the players for. Of all our managers only LVG had a clear philosophy that worked sometimes but ultimately was too outdated. Jose had an approach but was never a long term project. And Ole... Jury is still out.
feck Liverpool - I hope it all goes to shit next season. Pure emotions.

That's not even close to being true. You're telling me that City didn't try to beat Spurs? City tried to win every single game. You can rationalise it however you like but it was yours to lose and you blew the lead.

City players tried to win. Pep didn't. He has history with this too.

Thats harsh, City won 14 games in a row to pass them and Liverpool themselves answered back with 9 or 10 straight wins. It took City taking 54 of 57 points in the second half of the season to deny them. No way they bottled the title.

Or maybe he just got it wrong. None of that takes away from the fact that you let your lead slip.

If it had been United I would say the exact same thing. You bottled it and just weren't as good as them over the season, there's no shame in that.

Threw away? How so?

Agüero missed a pen in the first leg and Laporte had two brainfarts in the second leg. You can't do anything about that as a manager.

Yeah, City piled the pressure on and they couldn't handle it. They crumbled/bottled it whatever you want to call it.

Thats completely not true, saying Pep bottled the CL is probably worse than saying Liverpool bottled the league, had Aguero scored a penalty in the first leg, people would be hailing Pep as a genius who would likely have had a shot at the quad. Think is fairer to say Laporte bottled the CL, gifting Spurs two goals at the Etihad.

If we put Moreno next to VvD for just one CL game we would not be lifting number 6. And I wouldn't be blaming a missed Salah penalty for it.

That's a new one.

He may have got the balance wrong but 3 trophies indicated he got it more right than wrong
He got three things very, very right. But had to sacrifice the fourth to ensure that. And so he winged it and got banged. What came wasn't a 'shock'.
