If Bruno is going to cost 70-80m, rather have Maddison.

Get a feeling Bruno would be a disaster for that money.

I tend to think that is why we're trying to sign James and looking at players like Godfrey this time round.

That said, Maddison looked fantastic last year in The Championship and only Leicester went for him.

If he was called James Maddisoninho, half the cafe would of wanked themselves into a coma just at the thought of him being linked to United based on that video, looks exceptional.

It is complete nonsense. All season the most popular threads were of Jadon Sancho and Declan Rice. The idea that people here do not rate players because they are British is just silly.
Calm down dear, it was just a joke.

The real issue is Man Utd would used to pick off other clubs' best players, but now the PL is so powerful that Maddison, still at a much smaller club, can only be had for a bank-busting amount of money!

These transfer links are worrying me. I have no idea how good these guys are, but clearly Solskjaer saw the CO92 come through and he's trying to recreate that core of young and hungry British players, and because our academy is rubbish we're buying them in instead. If it works then great, but if not we're stuck with a bunch of Championship players. If we're prioritising these signings over more established names we're putting all our eggs in one basket and could be in huge trouble if it goes wrong.

Maddison actually looks a talent from the video posted above, but he wont be getting the time to do all those turns and tricks in a team like ours. Be interesting to see how he responds once settled into the league.
Good grief.

Premier league proven players have got to be priority for next season. Our priorities have changed. He's decent with a good ceiling. Will cost more than he is worth but then our negotiating position is weak.

I'm all for getting Maddison. He's a quality, young player. Impressed me a lot watching him play for Norwich, Leicester. Him and AWB know the league and right age, profile.

If not Felix. United should go for Everton's Richarlison. Richarlison has a bigger pontential than Maddison. Richarlison pontential as striker/CF is huge. The boy is really quick in the first metres. Im impress of his speed and acceleration. I dont see any really good available striker out there. Only if you go 200 £ for Mbappe.

Klopp and Liverpool are might interest in Richarlison when they are looking for a more natural striker than Firminio. And Richarlison is only 22. Still the best years are to come. I think this boy has something international top level in him. Top acceleration, agility and good ball control. And has scored 4 goals in 9 matches for the nation team Brazil already. This boy can turn out to be a really good CF in the future. Drop Maddison and better go for Richarlison. Plus Richarlison can play as left winger too, then you can move Martial as CF with Rashford.

So again, if not Felix. But still United want a new nr.10 or a new nr.9/CF. Back too 4-4-1-1 formation instead of a 4-3-3. Then Richarlison is the player United shall go for, this summer.

example a 4-4-1-1 formation

Sancho - Kante - Pogba - Martial/Richarlison + Felix/Richarlison/Martial + Rashford.

Felix/Richarlison in for Lukaku, up infront of RAshford.

Go for 4-4-1-1 formation. Its more difficult to buy players for a 4-3-3 formation. YOu see how many english player there are in City and Liverpool 3 central midfield?Better go for a CF/CAM instead. Then Felix and Richarlison, their max pontential level are really high. They are young and can ben unconsistent. But if they are consistent on their max level, they can be really good.

By the way. Maddison is a really good skillsful player too. But i think Felix and Richarlison max level. I think their are above Maddison. And to reach the max level of top football in the future. Felix and Richarlison has the abilities and can turn out really good.

Completely different players.

Richarlison you want on the end of the pass, Maddison you want making the pass.

You are rite. But if United buy Maddison. Its for the Cam role. A nr.10 playmaker. United and Ole doesnt buy Maddison for a new winger.
Then you can compare Maddison to other cam, nr10 role....or you better buy a new CF instead of a nr.10.

Maddison and Richarlison are different. But with United. You will use them in the same role. A nr.10 or supporting striker. Reason why i compare them with other options. Like Felix or maybe Dybala for that nr. 10 role.

But if United and Ole is using a-4-3-1-2 formation then its another case. Then you might need both of a nr.10 and nr.9.

4-4-2 or-4-4-1-1 is more United formation. A 4-3-3 formation is a more continental formtion of Ajax and Barcelona. And Pep has is background from Barca and City has only non british player in the central midfield. SAme for Liverpool. Only Henderson and Milner as a deep laying dcm or Milner as one of the LCM and RCM.

My point United get to plan which formation that will suit United current squad, then buy players after that. You get to have a plan. Because im not sure United will get succesful and dominate again with a 4-3-3 formation. And if Herrera is leaving as a RCM player, then you get to a buy a perfect a new RCM. Its difficult. You see how Spain and Barcelona is struggling after Iniesta and Xavi had quit?

Xavi - Busquets - Iniesta. Barcelona still has Busquets and Messi. But withtouth those two perfect RCM and LCM in Xavi and Iniesta. City has De Bruyne for the RCM role. Reason why 4-3-3 has worked for City and Pep. And Pep knows and understand 4-3-3. Which players that suit those role.

So again. Ole and United get to have a plan. When you first go Maddison for a cam role. Then you have to drop the 4-3-3 formation. Then it will be Matic and Pogba as the 2 central midfield player. Then others future buy will suit the 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 formation. So that are mine views and recommendations.

Maddison is maybe a top 4 player. But im not sure he is the players that will together with other. If United goal is to become better than City and Liverpool. I have better feeling with Richarlison and Felix. But you need others factors too. Like a top RW, DCM and CB. Then the hope will rise.

Beside a new cam. De Ligt for CB - a player like Kante for DCM and Sancho or Pepe for a new RW. Then you rise the chance to win premier league a lot. With top additions of De Ligt, Kante, Felix/Richalison and Sancho/Pepe.

Where the grass is greener.
I want us to sign players who I feel actually want to be here, who I'll enjoy watching, this lad fits the bill completely. He's young with a lot of potential. It's a shame we'd have to pay a mad fee for him though a year after he went for peanuts.

Looks a very very tasty player. Shows skill, pace, urgency and an ability to link up play.

Unlike Felix (kid, Greenwood better) and Fernandez (the PL too fast and physical) this is someone I could get excited about.

Also is Declan Rice really not possible?

Season ticket holder at Leicester, he is a huge talent but still very inconsistent.
Started the season brilliantly then dropped off for two months, he picked up when BR took over.
Personally I think he will stay with us and the only one we will sell is Maguire.

Watching De Jong for Holland reaffirmed my belief that Maddison could/should be that kind of player; Modric, Pirlo, Scholes etc all took a step back and redefined their careers, and I feel like Maddison could be metronomic in the same manner.

He’s erratic, enigmatic and not overly productive for his postion, and the key to his development could be to keeping him immersed in responsibility constantly to avoid such lapses in concentration.

But yet one was a first team player the other never got off the bench.

A player from Ajax is «schooled» different from the typical english player, and have a different «tactical nous». Look at van de Beek. He used to be a 6, while lately he has played more as a 10. Frenkie has even played in defence.

I think its a huge advantage. Not only does it give the players more flexiblity and hence more chances for game time. It also gives them a chance to develop into a different player with time. While Maddison has the ability to be a 10 at Leicester, he might not be a natural 10 at a bigger club (few play with a 10). It would be very beneficial if we could adapt into a 6 or 8.

I think the Man Utd acadamy used to provide players with more flexibility (or maybe we were just lucky). Players like Scholes, Giggs, Beckham and O’Shea could play in several positions and systems.

Having watched clips of both, McFadden looks the more technically gifted player in terms of close control, time on the ball, ability in tight spaces etc with Fernandes excelling more at end product. McFadden seems the more interesting and exciting player to me despite all the hype and talk being about Fernandes.

Harsh to rate Bruno Fernandes below McFadden.

That’s why literally everyone wants Sancho, who is in fact British.

yes but he plays for a foreign team, if he were at Leicester people would be doubting him
People rate Chilwell very highly, so many rate Ricardo Pereira and AWB as among the best RBs in the league. Digne is rated as second best in the league.

There is obviously some truth in what you and others said but many people rate players playing for non top 6 teams.

If I remember correctly people were gushing about Sancho when he wasn't even playing for City. And foreign players are doubted all the time, with arguments such as farm league, shit league, weak league, not PL proven...

there are always going to be a few that see through the snobbery but its still the more dominant position

Hudson Odoi is also rightly considered a super talent, before even featuring for Chelsea.

I think it's the people who don't rate or post negative are always loudest to make their point. So maybe it looks they are more.

@Jimmy Skitz what do you think about the player concerning his best role in a team and what are his flaws? The first time that I saw him I thought that he was very elegant, good technique and good vision but I don't really know what he actually is.

its goes all the way down there were Leicester fans doing the same about buying Maddison from Norwich and doing the same with Harry Wilson and Jared Bowen now we've been linked with them because they played in the Championship last season, Snobbery is inbuilt in most football fans for some reason. Evn though 2 of our greatest ever players are players we had barely heard of when we signed them in Vardy and Mahrez.

He prefers the no 10 role but I'm not sure he's ready for that yet so was at his best as a duel no 8 with Tielemans coming from slightly deeper, main flaws are simply his age and experience and sometimes just making the wrong call regarding a pass or shot

You have to take into consideration that the position Maddison is playing is well saturated with plenty of talent all round - hence the competition is bigger.
