Sell with a buyback clause? :)

But really he would develop well at Barcelona Are the chances they would want him on the RW?

Oh absolutely. It's a myth that academy players are overrated on here.
Absolutely not. Don't need to go that far back to see how much us fans had a weird love in for Danny Welbeck. Heck when Borthwick Jackson was played by LVG I recall lots of people having bigger hopes for him.

Even at present we can see some fans wanting to see Tuanzebe in our XI next year. As for Rashford, he is also overrated, but it's even moreso in the media (English and all).

I do not know whether or not this is true. Who knows what to believe with transfer speculation to be honest. But if it is true, I can see a Barcelona move absolutely appealing to Marcus Rashford's vanity. Why would they want him when they are reportedly after Griezmann and are reportedly after Neymar? I don't know, I really don't. Perhaps a third or fourth choice in the event that they cannot land their main targets.

The thing I would say though is that United fans could well end up driving Rashford out of the club. Yes, he is starting to believe his own publicity, yes he thinks that he is the second coming of Cristiano Ronaldo; but the 'Rashford' moniker is absolutely outrageous. A fully fit and well-performing Marcus Rashford gets into almost all top six starting line ups (with the exception of City and Liverpool). Much as I also get frustrated with Rashford, I definitely do not want him leaving the club. He will only get better and the last thing that we need is to sell a player that cost us nothing with another that will likely cost us even more to replace.

Yeah our academy players are overrated, and whenever one of them plays and makes some simple correct passes people talk about him as if he's the next Beckham. It's always weird for me the amount of praise our youth get for doing some basic stuff when they get a chance with the first team. This overrating ends in slaughtering them after they inevitably disappoint the fans because they're not as great as they thought of them earlier.

Honestly feel that Rashford is overrated by fans and won't acclimatise to the expectation that people have set but he definitely shouldn't be leaving.

Nobody can win can they?

Ultimately the rating of individuals is just taking 1/11th off the rating of the team. Rashford is the least of our concerns right now & to watch him go when we have so many holes in our first team would be disappointing.

Rashford is deemed overrated because we aren't successful enough as a team. Jose's football clearly didn't suit the lad & he started adding unnecessary abilities to a very simplified but clinical aspect that he showed in his short tenure for LVG.

I still don't get how after seeing Liverpool win the CL and compete very well for two years with some average players that people are still adamant that what we lack first and foremost is just world class ones. These players we have need a plan, a coach and the tactics of someone like Klopp or Pep before we start chucking out players who are deemed not good enough by taking a pure chance out of frustration.

Whilst I agree he's the least of our problems and considering his age, can improve to greater levels, I don't think he's overrated because we aren't successful enough as a team. A lot of us draw our conclusions from watching his general play which has little to do with those around him. The heavy touches, the unnecessary flicks, the unsuccessful takeons and the squandered chances.

Rashford is not the reason united are sixth, he's been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise shower of mediocrity being paraded around the club.

When you have Ashley young, Rojo and the likes of Jones being relied upon to be key players at a club, 6th is an over achievement. None of them are either young or have potential.
Completely agree. He's one of the few players with talent, hunger and potential at the club. I'm new to this forum but I don't quite understand it, frankly.

He's a great prospect. That being said if Barca offered north of €150M for him & Mata you have to take that from a financial squad building perspective. You clear £300k/wk in wages and can sign a top player like Dybala for that.

Rashford can be amazing one day & I'm all for local talent, but he's currently slightly overvalued in terms of the contract he'll demand and the quality of soccer he CURRENTLY delivers. We already have committed to one inconsistent young talent in Martial, we can't afford two with the wages of Lukaku/Sanchez also hanging over us.

If I was the DOF I'd hate moving him, but it would be better for my team in the long run. SAF believed no player is bigger than the long term success of the club.

Anything north of £100 mill and I would snap their hand off. Hes not prolific enough for us and doesnt seem to be improving either.

Taken me a while to notice - but a lot of people who post here, especially in the negative toward your Rashfords - well, they ain't so much United fans as they are pieces of shit who we're better off without.

I'd rather have less pieces of shit never-been-to-old-trafford-cnuts than I would lose a real good boy like Marcus.

Seriously though - I can barley stomach this forum these days - feck off you whiny pieces of shit. Go somewhere else. You're awful, you're worse than the Glazers. If it makes you feel better, call me a top red. You're a dog of a fan. Go suck a dick.

I think the irony here is that we actually care more about the success of the club than an individual player. Which is essential for any organization. Just ask SAF what was going through his head when he sold the likes of Beckham, Nistelrooy, Keane, Ronaldo, & potentially Rooney.

And those players had done more for the club than Rasford potentially ever will.

He's still got potential but it's difficult to see him being the superstar that many seem to perceive him to be.

He should arguably still be on our bench behind Lukaku and he's not first choice for England.

People mentioning Welbeck are not that far from reality in terms of goals. 7 years ago (same age) Welbeck had played 2 full seasons (1 at Sunderland) scoring 15 PL goals, Rashford has scored 17 in the last 2 years (in around 400 more minutes). One is hyped as our savior, the other seen as a laughing stock.

Barca is not looking to pay £100m for Rashford. Rashford’s agent is feeding the rumors about Barcelona have him on their radar, meaning they are aware he is on the last year of contract. So in the meantime United will have to choose between paying him ultra high wages to get him to renew the contract, or losing him on a free next year.

If someone were to offer us close to £100m this summer he would be sold.

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
The notion of Barcelona even contemplating paying £100 million for Rashford...!

It's just surreal some of the garbage that people will believe.

Where would he play? CF? For Barcelona? Yeah, I can see that...

'Messi and Rashy', ffs it's ridiculous.

How about you start a petition to ban supporters who live outside of England from supporting English clubs then?

Then you can have nobody hating on Lingard and Rashford forever if that's what you mean. They're good boys after all.

Messy attempts a one-two with Rashford, but Rashy attempts a little flick that bounces on the defender.
Or
Messy makes a run expecting to get the ball, but Rashy keeps hogging the ball, and when finally the play is dead, passes it back to a defender.
Or
Free Kick to Barcelona from 30 yards out. Rashy picks up the ball and....

You think fans living in England never bash Lingard?

If Rashford leaves us to go to a better team, it will a given that he will get far less minutes than he would here. If they have expectations for him to lead the line they will be disappointed and replace him very quickly. He's a rotation or impact player off the bench at best in a top side.

The only loss in him leaving us is being unable to rinse potential buyers with a ridiculous transfer fee and Lingard becoming the poster boy of our 'successful' promotion of academy players.

Imagine Rashford blasting the ball to row z when Messi is asking for the ball. The Camp Nou would eat him alive.
The only time you will see Rashy and Messi play together will be on a games console owned by Rashy or J Lingz.

I don’t believe this for a second, but if it were true, I’d take the money in a second and get their top target in Griezmann whose a way better player.

He seemed to think so. Negative towards Rashford -> piece of shit -> never been to Old Trafford.

Not sure if He hates people hating on Rashford or hates people who've never been to OT.
I think what fans from England are the same as fans from any other place. We don’t hate players, we hate to see bad football, and we hate to see our club keep giving opportunities to footballers who are going through a bad form (Rashford) or just plain shit footballers (Lingard). I don’t think any MUFC fan from any country enjoys Rashford sending the ball to row z time after time after time. Perhaps Ole is the one who should shoulder the responsibility, because he allows it to go on and on.

That's pretty debatable really. I'd say only Chelsea, but not every week.

So, by 'almost all of the top 6 barring Liverpool and City', you actually mean, 'some of the teams between 3rd and 6th'... one of which is actually Utd. So Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea is essentially what you're saying.

And remember that 'Rashy' wants to be a CF...

Arsenal have Auba and Lacazette - both better forwards
Spuds have Kane and Son - both better forwards
Chelsea I agree would start him presently - though that might change depending on who they sign

Anything above 75m and United should jump at the opportunity... your title suggest as if we will be losing next Ronaldo or Giggs.

Can the OP please change the thread title? It's not like we are losing Becks or CR. An inconsistent young player who thinks he has made it. Who on his best days is a 7/10 and on his worst days is a -1/10. Our own Theo Walcott. A guy who has very low football IQ. Trash on set pieces. Can't dribble, can't pass. Has serious tunnel vision. Somebody please send him on the next available flight to Barcelona.
And please stop with the 'he is anti-english' thing. People are not against english players. The greatest United player is an Englishman. They are against mediocre players. And Rashford and his buddy 'J-Lingz' are the definition of mediocrity. And the only people defending them are those who see some non existent 'potential' in them.
