Won the lottery how?
Any championship player who gets signed for United or a team of this stature coming off their breakthrough season has pretty much won the lottery. He could be a Leeds player right now

Every time he runs with the ball he either waltzes past the defender or gets fouled. Draw your own conclusions
So based on this game against Hungary do you agree that he's an outstanding dribbler? Yes or no? He was nullified against Croatia. Lets hope he learns quick, the PL is not the championship

He's clearly at least decent at it. He may well be outstanding. I've only seen a few games but I've been impressed with his dribbling. Defenders cant seem to handle it. Why are you trying to pin me on something I never even said by the way?

Let's talk about something you actually did say. If dribbling isnt one of his best qualities, what are? Are you suggesting he has no qualities?

From what i've seen his most impressive attribute by far is his electric speed. He has a decent cross and shot in him, par for the course really, and he seems two footed. He could become a useful player for us, who knows? My guess is he'll struggle. Are you happy now?

Our James doesn't seem like a 90 minute player. He's been gassed since the 70th. Should've brought him on at this later stage

No he hasn’t. Is this because you read someone say this in the Swansea forum and now decided it’s true?

Probably Wales's best attacking threat tonight. His blistering pace caused them problems on numerous occasions, they resorted to fouling him at first opportunity several times. He still looks a little raw, might not break through into first team straight away but looks like he could be a strong impact player when game is stretched, but don't forget he'll look better with better players around him. Anyways, he'll definitely benefit from some work on the training pitch this season, certainly a lot of tools to work with.

Yes several fans on their forums said this, and it seems evident in the first two full games i've watched him in. Its not an agenda. I do not rate the player but he can win me over, and it doesn't make this observation untrue.

Wales were proper shite when Giggs played for them. I'm not concerned.

They were awful this week. James the only positive tonight - Hungary kicked him at every opportunity.

I like Hungary so not bothered with the result.I only wanted to see him being the best Welsh player on the pitch, which he was, even if that's not saying too much. Good enough so far. People expecting a 15m Championship player with 41 apps in senior career to be Messi-like, and complain when he isn't, should go for a walk and relax.

Outside of his obvious speed advantages, how good is his general play? Is his passing and decision making good for his age, or does he still possess that raw quality that makes him prone to simple errors?

Ok. So to you using that electric speed to run with the ball and beat players doesn't count as dribbling. I'd imagine every single person who commented on his dribbling meant that. To you dribbling no doubt means something completely different. I honestly don't have the energy or will to find out what so lets leave it there. I at least want to try to believe I've better things to be doing than arguing over semantics on the internet.

He's fast and goes past players with ease. He's not the finished product but I'm sure he'll help us in many ways.

Gave the ball away once in 90 mins from what I can remember. In the second half he was basically instantly fouled every time he go the ball.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"

No. He's watched a few minutes of YouTube as well.

And saw a post on Reddit.

As it happens, I thought James was average tonight. Would like to see him on the right wing as a "true" winger. Cutting inside, think he needs more experience to choose the right pass.

Based on what I've seen, which is not an awful lot, it's not that bad. Still doesn't have that extra something which would elevate him and his numbers up a few notches but he's not a headless chicken or terribly erratic.

Well look how players like Pogba are treated on here. No one is safe, the supporters have high (often lofty/unrealistic) expectations of anyone wearing that red shirt. By you mentioning where he came from you're insinuating that fans should expect him to play like an inexperienced championship player, but that won't cut it at United in the long run. I don't think anyone is expecting him to be Messi-like, but i've seen deluded posts about him taking Martial's spot, becoming a dead cert starter in his first season etc

He's not an outstanding dribbler yet. You and I both know this so don't pretend

I saw posts on Reddit and two other Swansea forums actually. I mean I posted them in his transfer thread

Extremes, then. To say he's a cert to take the anyone's spot is crazy given so small a sample most of us have seen of him. I know, though, that I'm fecking sick of having Mr hides on our wings or side-ways primadonnas in the squad - that's why if he's anything good then with his pace, willingness to show himself for the pass and directness, I do hope he can prove good enough. We've been crying for a hungry, direct winger with pace to burn. The only question mark is his general quality which nobody knows yet.

I like his close control. He has a good touch.

There is a lot to work on, but equally there is a shit load to work with. What is evident is that you can clearly see he has the right attitude, He will be a good cup player and impact sub this year with a view to looking at a starting spot the year after imo.

The best thing outside his pace and directness, is that this sort of transfer is exactly what we need, i.e. young, hungry players with everything to prove. Too many 'I've already made it because I played well against Everton a year ago' ones in the team.

Did he play on the right? Is there any chance that he will be good on the right?

Let’s hope he’s not young and overpaid though. They’re the worst ones - not proven shite yet but act like they have. He seems grounded though.
