In Portugal Inter are rumored to be strongly interested as Antonio Conte sees him as a potential key player in his system. Also willing to offer former sporting youth product Joao Mario in the deal.

Romero(Henderson)

AWB Skriniar Lindelof Shaw

Rice
Kroos Fernandes

Sancho Martial

Rashford

How about this starting XI?
Kroos just signed a new deal and Sancho is going nowhere , might as well be realistic as opposed to playing FIFA , hope we don’t go near Rice.

Has anyone in the last 10 pages of this thread not thought to mention that we are not AC fecking Milan?
No but thanks, anyways moving on, he has started reporting international news like Di Marzio. Let's just wait an dsee if he is right, I prefer to be a glass half full type of muppet.

Would love us to sign just can't see us pulling it off. He will no doubt move and be a top player elsewhere.

I'm quietly confident with this one. I think it will happen. We need more goals from midfield seeing as how our strikers can't score.

This guy is the new Gaitan, he'll move somewhere else or stay at Sporting after daily links to us in the gossip columns. People are putting way too much faith in some random journo from Milan.

This phrase is getting thrown about too much here. Gaitan was linked to us every summer, whereas Bruno's links started and will end with this summer.

He may well end up elsewhere, but it appears our interest is genuine unlike Gaitan as well.

The Portuguese media can't be trusted, I'm yet to see any concrete links that make me think the signing will happen. It's all incredibly Gaitan-esq

Would Ole play this guy in the #10 role, or would he be Herrera's replacement in central midfield and partner with Pogba?

I really really hope this would be true. Especially if Joao Mario could be pushed into a deal like this. (a complete waste of space into our squad)
Anyway I remember this guy since his time with Novara, Udinese and Sampdoria, he actually grew up in Italy but now seems like a superstar and matured so well….

I would love João Mário back as well.

Dalot Ruben Diaz Lindelof Shaw

Fred Pogba

Fernandes

Rashford Martial James

Ruben Diaz and Bruno Fernandes would totally transform this team add much needed quality and get the balance right. Maybe still lacking a right winger but could wait until next year.
Very interesting. You want James to play on the left and go with martial (who will drift to the left also) and Rashford on the right when most would go with him in the centre.

Yeah, it’s because we don’t have a right winger i’d be forced to play Rashford on the right and Martial through the middle because I don’t think Ole wants Lukaku as much.

I put James on the left because that’s his best position.

I stress that this is a realistic team to have next season but I think it would be a good one.

We could always have a better defence and attack but again I think realistically two major signings is all we are going to get this window.

I have mixed feelings, depends on how much he is valued.

And he kinda pushed for an exit back in the days... :nono:
Well was mostly his annoying dad but.

He is still young. Very talented. He is a home grown talent Portuguese and can revive his career here.

I have a big feeling that we arent even in for him. The main source (abola) has been faffing with this rumour so much that I'm not convinced they know much about it.

It's either that or they've caught wind that something is happening but thete completely out on the cold and are just guessing. The most reliable link actually cones from a Serie A reporter. If it wasn't for him I'd think we're nit in for him.

Having said that Stephen Howson reckons he's heard there will be 2 defenders signed and that's it for us. Who knows what to believe these days.

I'd take anything from Abola with a pinch of salt. The most reliable imo is Jornal de Notícias.

Interested in understanding this setup as well. Never seen him play, and last time I checked Pogba is still on the team. Would like to know the possibilities with and without Pogba. Could somebody more erudite about this subject please chime in?

Umm..what are we actually waiting for?
The season is still months away. Preseason is weeks away. And even if Bruno signed today, he'd still want an extended break after the Nations League final, so it's not like he'd be showing up at Carrington bright and early.

Other then blue balling internet fans, there is literally no reason for anyone to sign quickly.

Yeah, I'm obviously no expert on Portuguese papers, but noticed this many years ago, ever since City are being involved with players from the league, or simply to a player / Mendes etc. Not exactly sure why A Bola transfer gossip is even reported by other foreign press all the time. Then again Spanish and Italian press like to translate stories sourcing the Sun, so...

What if we are holding off due to possibly getting dybala in a deal for pogba. Hence then going strong on the bruno to spurs rumours. If spurs were looking at ndombele and celso I doubt they would go for for Fernandes so maybe spurs were being used to speed us or another team up?

He got a 35m release clause, if no one else bids, he will be sold at some point this summer for 35m.
This is not true. I have explained it before.

He has a clause that he signed when he resigned with Sporting after he had terminated his contract that stated that if Sporting were to receive an offer of 35M+ and they rejected it they would have to compensate him with either A. A pay raise or B. Another form of financial compensation in the region of X amount of dollars (I don’t remember which one it was) but it was a 1x thing.

His buyout clause is 100M

If it was 35M he would of been sold by now.

we need an all-action midfielder and i think he fits the bill.

In today's market, all half decent players are over-priced

There was some speculation about this at the start of the window. It sounded wrong at the time and I think by now we can take it for granted that it's wrong because, as the previous poster has said, if it were true then on minute one of the transfer window Sporting would have received 35m bids from every club in Europe. Clearly that hasn't happened and the talk has continued to be around the £60-70m+ mark. If there was a €35m clause he'd be sold already.

This is the one player I most want this summer, I think that he could be a superstar. But despite reports? I am far from confident

Seems like smoke and mirrors to me. Sporting could pay him in order to keep him another year yes, but don't think his value will increase in a years time. This window though, clubs are holding of on 35m for him, guess you could pay 50m, considering a extra 15m means nothing in todays market.

I do want to say though, I really don't know, and wont bring it up again.
