I expect there to be widescale riots at Old Trafford if United inevitably fail to hit the ground running next season and I don't expect Ed to survive this time. The matchday lot are incredibly slow to get wise to the situation but even they will revolt at this stage if nothing changes and it is clear to see who is to blame.

As I said will check that, but... It was still about organizational change which never happened. Either they still haven't decided and cleared the role, either they did, but don't know who to place in it or they scrapped the whole thing they "wanted" in the start. So, whichever route you are willing to choose it doesn't actually scream competence and long-term planning. And looking at the whole picture in these last 6 years, it doesn't put much confidence they will get things right.
On that we totally agree, the descriptions of the role don't really scream competence. But maybe it's the reports that aren't accurate, I seem to remember that we thought the same about the academy revamp and they eventually did a good job.

Exactly he is the CEO is he not?
The best gloss we can put on it is that the person they want (they really, really, want) is not currently available? So we are marking time!
However forming a committee of 7 people is dangerous, I'm reminded of the saying " a horse designed by a committee is a Camel"

Of course, that is what a CEO does. The difference is in a good and a bad CEO. A good CEO doesn’t decide what is best all by himself. A good CEO have proper structure and experts who a lot of times are smarter and more capable than the CEO himself/herself. A good CEO listens to these capable people.

I was aiming for irony with my original comment, clearly I was not successful!

What makes matchday supporters different to everybody else? We're not a special breed that doesn't have access to the same information as everybody else. It's different typing out your hatred for Woodward/Glazers on RedCafe as opposed to trying to rally thousands of others on matchday.

Other clubs fans don’t find it as hard as United’s do to make their voices heard.

The bigger problem is that makes this more insidious is that Woodward is somewhat insulated because the size and money involved in United makes it so difficult to finish way down the table. The other 14 teams haven’t quite caught up
yet to present a legitimate challenge for the top 6.

While United is killing it in terms of popularity on social media platforms the on the field product continues to suffer.

A finish below 10 would be needed to create the needed outrage for Woodward to feel the heat. Even then they’d just spin it as an off year and that United has finished top 6 since Ed has been in charge and the club’s revenue is continuing to expand.

No amount of spin could make that a positive.

They don’t have to sell it to the fans the just sell it to the shareholder board and owners. As long as the revenues continue to increase and stock price increases, the team could finish 6th every year.

It’s like a too big to fail scenario.

He's like a compulsive gambler, just keeps doing the same thing over and over hoping for a different result, the guy needs a spell in rehab to cure him of this belief that somehow next time it will work.

I know what he did for the Glazers, but surely he must be in last saloon this time.. I suppose the only other plausible answer is that a takeover is on cards so this has been put on ice.

The Glazers will absolutely love him. He has made them a fortune.

Well it would seem Philip De Brun isn’t a complete bullshitter after all, since he called it ages ago.

Another 6th place finish and not only would there be even more anger among the fanbase but the reduced sponsorship money would start to cause financial ripples as well. His coziness with the Glazers makes him fairly well insulated but he's not entirely bulletproof. The pressure on him is building, even if it's incremental.

Our ownership's priority is to maximize profits as long as they remain in charge. Ed is good at that. I expect the current "strategy" to continue - invest enough to make us 4th place challengers and then re-invest only when that is at risk. Replace the managers as needed to ensure the risk of long-term monetary losses is reduced. I think as long as the Glazers are here, Woodward will be CEO. There is zero chance they get rid of him even if Ole fails spectacularly.

Only upside I could potentially see is him and the other United legends then declaring public war on Woodward and the Glazers if that happened. But it is unlikely because the club represents too much of a cash cow for all involved. Who would risk that to stand up for the club and the fans?

Real Madrid isn't the only club in football. Lots of other teams haven't signed anyone, we have and we have concrete reports of negotiations for a couple of other areas. What's the fuss about?

Most other clubs aren't as in as much of a mess as united and Madrid.

Riots? Demonstrations? Chants of “Woodward out” will be as bad as it gets. Bloody hell season tickets sold out the day they went on sale. The bastards in charge are milking us supporters and I have a feeling it will continue for many a year.

Wait for Stone or Ducker to report something on the matter before you jump to conclusions over a speculative piece that seems to be written to rile a certain section of the fan base.
Jamie Jackson was on a Full Time Devils discussion. He likened any new position as nothing more than a "Chief scout or transfer ambassador" and hence why Rio has popped up in discussions.

I did watch that yesterday and Jackson is a frequent guest of that particular channel.

Stephen Howson is also saying that he's heard that we will only sign one or two players(AWB & Rabiot) on top of the one we've already made in Daniel James. If that turns out to be true, then i'm pretty confident the Glazer's are in active negotiations to sell the club.

I also don't think Woodward wants control of the football side like many believe on here. I do believe the reason we're hesitating to appoint a experienced Dof is due to the Glazer's wanting to sell and are currently in negotiations with a potential buyer.

If all the above comes to pass, then a crap transfer window would be bearable if the Glazer's fecked off IMO.

Is that on his patreon? If not could you link me to it? Thank You :)

Also, as I said in the Wan-Bissaka thread, Real Madrid have signed 5 players and spent 300 million euros in the time it's taken us to buy a championship player / great prospect and have a bid rejected by Palace.

What are Woodward and Judge doing? What is this new "ambassador" role supposed to do beyond "tempting" players?

I hope so. James, AWB and Maguire should have just been the sort of business we kick things off with. If that's the extent of our transfers then we're in serious trouble next season.
I'd be very very surprised if there isn't at least five come the start of the season, though one of them will probably be another rough diamond like Daniel James who won't be expected to feature much, but will
