Didn't say he failed. If anything Chelsea failed him.
I think the failure you can put down to the club is the transfer ban, which is still under appeal, and losing Hazard which was probably outside of the clubs control. The fans in general were behind him and it really was only a small minority who booed.
It wasn't a bizarre appointment. The club wanted a more attractive style of play on the pitch and wanted Sarriball. While the team did turn out some pretty lacklustre performances they were successful and Hazard had his best season. I have seen some criticism of Chelsea's football this season but there was a slight change and the performance in the EL final, particularly 2nd half, was good. I thought Sarri would get another season based on last seasons success but the Juve stories just kept coming. It is Sarri that wants out and Juve have paid Chelsea compensation. For a change the club haven't sacked the manager. A new leaf. Sic.
Personally I wanted him out after the 6-0 drubbing from City and 4-0 to Bournemouth, but it slowly turned around and when we got 3rd place you could have knocked me down with a feather. The EL was just over achievement. He won me over.
I'm old school and have never booed any Chelsea player or Manager. I didn't want Sarri to go. When I saw him looking at his winners medal after the EL final I really felt for the guy and thought he would stay and continue to improve the team. It wasn't to be.
