They’ve never been a truly top team. Let’s not even get into the disgraceful backdrop of their only World Cup win. If you took the chucker out of their team during their golden period, they’d have had an average at best bowling line up for the most part. They’ve had a couple of great batsmen but as a squad they’ve never been up there with the best.
I am no way a SL fan but let us not undermine their accomplishments. 96 WC winners, 03 Semifinalists, 07 runners up 11 runners up. They have achieved far more than the likes of NZ and Eng.

Seriously what were they thinking between overs 11-30 when the lesser bowlers in? Put themselves in a right pickle now needing 9 per over vs Starc and Cummins.

If you were to simply rate teams based on achievements, it'd go:

1) Australia
2) India
3) West Indies
4) Sri Lanka

Wicket taking machine. I think he became the fastest player to 150 ODI wickets in the last match.

Honestly if we're going to discredit batsman for having it easy this era, bowlers like Starc deserve extra credit.

Doesn't seem to happen, though. Players like Gavaskar, Chappell, Viv are raved because they were great batsmen in a bowler dominant era, but then similar logic isn't applied to the likes of Steyn.

Sri Lanka always go through this average period before unearthing a group of gems.

Hopefully this leads to the end of some of the players that have been found out at international level like malinga.

Too many celebrity type heads aswell

Sri Lanka really should have won the game from that platform they had for themselves.

The way Starc can just rip through a team is absolutely insane.

Agree, any bowler averaging sub 25 in this era deserves immense credit.

Ireland should have been here instead of Afghanistan. They would have chased down a 320+ total by now and in general offered far more than Afg in these conditions.

SA don’t seem bothered with improving their NRR

Pathetic batting by SA. They needed to try to finish this in 15-20 overs. Despite facing 80 deliveries Amla still looked out of touch. I know their batting is already shit but just drop him.

Shall I bother with India-Pakistan tomorrow? Weather still looks 50/50

Can't wait for tomorrow, hopefully we get a good game & weather doesn't interfere too much.

You never know which Pakistan is going to turn up, but I expect India to win fairly comfortably. Need Amir to have a spell like he did in the CT final.

I think we will get a game tomorrow, highly doubt that it's a full game but should be over 30 overs a side

Game should start in time but we will definitely see rain. Weather forecast as usual is all over the place. As per Met it should definitely rain by 1pm for may even 2 hours or so. By BBC, chances of rain are low, accuweather pretty much has rain around 50% chance mark for throughout the day.

Pakistan bowling first... shit

Quite a big advantage for Pakistan. Bowling first on this.

Who else would you have picked though? He's the spare batsman isn't he?

Always thought that was a weird selection but there we go.

Let's hope for a great game. No fighting on here!
I don't know what the situation with Pant is but all our subs are... well I don't rate them. Hopefully Vijay proves me wrong.

Just like yesterday bowling first because the pitch was under the covers bullshit. I understand DLS is a big reason but still better to bat first imo

The white ball just doesn't swing. You can have whatever conditions you want
