Same here. Also 27 and i dont know anyone like that. Neither do i know anyone who likes that kind of behaviour or follows someone on social media who does behave like that. I think JLingz target audience is 14/18 year old people though so we might actually qualify as too old.
I guess i really am old and at the right age to start to shout at clouds...
I get it - you have a level of maturity regarding what you do and don't put out in public. My sentence there is not a dig at you.
However, as somebody older I am aware of many people who live their lives on social media - in their 20s, 30s, 40s, even 50s.
I know a few of them but you can see the others everyday on the net, even so called news sites like yahoo post twitter bites or instagram videos from people moaning about not being invited to a wedding so this is what they did, or telling the world about some private nonsense that is irrelevant to 99.9 percent of us or people showing themselves doing things far more idiotic or offensive than Jess' and Marcus' silly larking about.
And those two have achieved public recognition through playing for one of the legendary sports teams in the world. They're not nobodies. If you follow other sports, you'll know that there are videos on social media that are unwise, ill-thought out, discriminatory or plain stupid.
For example, African American Lebron James who some consider the current best basketball player was happy to upload a video showing himself rapping along to a hiphop song that kept referencing 'Jewish money'. Lebron is a great bloke from all accounts and active in anti-racism campaigns but was ignorant enough to think that an ethnic stereotype was a compliment.
Two black American football players last year went around in public wearing some stupid masks and said they were inspired by another footballer and said 'Monkey see, monkey do.' Not the best choice of analogies for people who come from a group that has traditionally endured racist slurs along those lines.
Non-black sports people have also made videos that were immature, unwise, open to interpretations of racism, frankly racist and publicized them.
Videos are everywhere showing Ms, Mr, Mrs Nobody acting up and telling the world about it. Most of them are unknown but have to plaster their face and mediocre opinions and lives everywhere because this is what the net permits them to do. I know a few youtubers personally, one of whom I work with, and they need to grow up but won't because they have a platform as a nobody has never had before.
