Clear that Ole doesn’t fancy Dalot to me. The idea of even considering a 19 year old right back signing days enough.
I think Ole fancies Dalot, just not at RB. Which is good, considering Dalot's been dreadful at defending for us so far. I mean, he hasn't even shown glimpses of a potential good defender (but a promising WB/RW hybrid though).

If the Wan Bissaka deal falls through sign this kid up and loan them Laird for a season, win-win

As a right back that's pretty clearly the case. Young was in dire form last season and costing United match after match but Solskjaer didn't even seem to consider giving Dalot a run there. He got minutes but a lot of those came in other positions, he was seen as a versatile squad player, not as a serious solution to our right back problems.

And of course we wouldn't be so clearly trying to buy a right back this summer if there was any reasonable expectation of Dalot making the position his own.

I’ve not seen much of Aarons to be honest but heard great things, potentially how good is he ? Is he a better choice than Wan-Bissaka ? He’s a much more modern full back isn’t he (Aarons) in the sense he’s more TAA than Wan-Bissaka ?
Aarons has bigger potential than Trent IMO. Aarons is significantly quicker and not only is he a good attacker with brilliant touch and technique, he is also a very good defender. He plays with great intensity to boot and would be a very exciting signing if we manage to sign him.

Make sense.
Much also depends how Norwich want for Aarons.
But 50m for someone who had one good season is insane.
Also, if we abandon signing AWB, we send a message to other clubs that we will not allow to be blackmailed by selling clubs
As we watch AWB get named player of the year at Palace once more and we struggle with a lesser alternative? See how happy you and the fan base is then for saving face. They can name their price for him and 50m for a quality player in any position is the going rate for United. Our scouting is pretty woeful so favouring going for a lesser name is a pretty catastrophic approach for this club at the moment. He's as safe as it gets if we ain't wanting to buy a 28+ year old. We could sell a squad player and recoup most of that. Martial would go for less and he's prob our most sellable squaddie.....

I was more referencing the age of the right backs he is trying to buy. He doesn’t even believe in the potential of Dalot it seems, which is a different story to ‘he’s not ready yet’. Targeting a senior RB is one thing, but AWB and Aaron’s are a similar age.

That a very big claim there. If that's true we should focus on him rather than paying 50m for AWB don't you think?

Use the 50 AWB to sign Meunièr and Aaron’s to compete for the RB position, Dalot and Shaw the other side.

Trent doesn't have the acceleration of Aarons and neither the defensive ability. Technically both players are good, but overall Aarons ticks more boxes and is equally good going forward as he is at defending.

That's why I see Aarons as having the bigger potential. A very exciting young RB that I would have as first choice as a potential target for the RB position. Would be a very smart move if we opted for him IMO.

Steady on there. You're comparing a player next to nobody had heard of 12 months ago against a lad Liverpool have been building up as their next big academy product for the last 3-4 years.

Massive stretch. Trent is one of the best right backs around as is, let alone considering potential.

Trent has been playing top level football for the best part of 2 seasons. Going to 2 Champions League finals, winning one of them. Was crucial in getting the team to that final. Just got 12 assists , and is the main set piece taker in the best Liverpool side for 3 decades. He will most likely be in the Fifpro team of the year, and is widely regarded as one of the best fullbacks in the world, all at 20. One year older than Aarons. I know he's Liverpool player but let's give him his fair dues.

Unless of course you're totally right and Aarons is the bastard seed of Carlos Alberto.
Unlikely Though.

I'd love to have Aarons at the club I think his potential is really high. Just hope he gets a lot of game time.

I'd agree with this. Playing WB,RW and RB at times and not starting games. I don't think Dalot picked up from his initial run in the team which I thought went quite well. whether OGS knows something further, I'd purchase Aarons or AWB (preferred) and have three as an option. Don't want Young playing often but he and Dalot would be somewhat decent squad players but starting RB, I don't know if Aarons would be up to the task.

Trent is weak defensively and is susceptible to pace. One example being when Mendez Laing rinsed him on Cardiff's left not long ago. I also think Trent is getting over rated by many, when his defensive game leaves alot to be desired. Liverpool had a fantastic season and Trent did well going forward, but I don't think he's quick enough or good enough defensively.

The claim I made was that Aarons has bigger potential. He's significantly quicker than Trent and is a better allround fullback when you take into consideration he can defend and has recovery pace. Van Dyke carried that Liverpool defence on his back last season. Trent i'm pretty sure will be exposed soon enough like he was against Rashford last year.

We're obviously just trying to put pressure on CP. First the Hysaj links and now Aarons.

Alexander Arnold is 20 years old and is going to be voted as the best right back in the world next year. There's 14 months between them. I'm sorry but you can rate Max Aaron's all you want, to claim hes ahead of TAA or more rounded or anything is frankly ridiculous. TAA had a few bad games, of course he did. He just turned 20 this past season. Ronaldo and Messi both had fecking bad games before 20.

I haven't seen much of Aarons, I dont doubt his potential, but to say he's more promising than player who was head and shoulders the best in the premier league, set creativity records in the league, reached his 2nd CL final as a starter only at the age of 20 and won it this year (and was a key player throughout) is frankly an insane opinion. The jump from the championship to the premier league and then to the champions league is crazy big. And TAA's performances in those are far ahead of Aarons' in the championship anyway. At basically the same age.

Trent is quite quick too. But Aarons is more agile.

Trent's potential is pretty high to be honest and he's just 20yrs.

Trent isn't very quick at all. He has been beaten for pace plenty of times. He's lucky he has the best CB in the world behind him.

Would prefer Aaron's over AWB.

AWB is too limited going forward even if he could be an elite defender.

We need players with good technical ability - AWB hasn't got that, maybe he could develop but I'm not so sure.

He's not a speed monster but he's quick in his first strides. He's not slow either but doesn't have great speed. Aarons isn't a speed monster either. Bissaka is the one who's a speed monster.

Why not? The inquiries might be real but that doesn't mean we are actually interested in the player
I don't think Di Marzio would fall for that trick. We made a enquiry, which we probably did with a number of players. Di Marzio's info must've come from Napoli.

Aarons is quicker than Trent from what i've seen of both players.

You obviously didn't read my post. My claim was that Aarons has the bigger potential and backed up why I believe that. He obviously has to prove it still of course.
