First things first, every English team has money and don't need to sell. The only players I would consider getting from the PL would likely be Wan Bassaka and Ruben Neves. The other players are going to be extremely overpriced. With that being said, there are so many CBs around who may not be World Class at the moment but have tremendous potential.

Assuming De Ligt & Koulibaly are not attainable,

1. Dayot Upamecano
2. Ibrahima Konate
3. Milan Skriniar
4. Joachim Andersen
5. Nikola Milenkovic
6. Alessio Romagnoli
7. Jonathan Tah
8. Ruben Dias
3,5,6 - not attainable or overpriced
2 and 8 - not yet ready to steady our backline

Out of interest, how far down Ole's centre back list do we think Diop is?

5th choice?

Don’t want him. I don’t see what he offers more than some of our current crop other than that he is young.

Another thing in favour of Diop is his height. All players linked with us DeLigt, KK, Maguire and now Diop are all almost unbeatable in air.
De Ligt being the shorter one at 1,89 m. The other three are around 1,93-1,94
Puyol was better in the air than Pique is/was it is not all about height.

So why don’t we offer them Lingard in a swap deal instead of Martial? Don’t they rate all that glorious movement and running he provides?

We don't need another stopper. We need a ball playing centre half. This guy's a young smalling.

Makes me wonder if Ole has a playstyle in mind or not. All summer long its been reported we are after a ball playing CB and now we want Diop, who is not great on the ball.

I think it's more a sign of things not going well with our first choices.

We do, and that's the reason we won't be offering him to West Ham.

This guy is another option , which seems Woodward is doing it again throwing his net as wide as he can to see who he catches.
This guy is probably 3rd 4th on the list, and he can't even get him?

Can see no CBs coming in at all, we will have Smalling , Lindelof, Jones, Rojo, Tunezabe, there our Centre backs for next season. Ohh Bialy nearly forgot him?

Keep him, a huge gamble, if he fails to make the step up to a big club then it would be hard to recoup 60 odd million for a him as no big club with a large enough transfer budget to afford him will want him as most want defenders who good with the ball at their feet in the modern game and he isn't that.

If we sign wan Bissaka and Diop for a combined fee of 100m plus, we'd be the biggest laughing stock of the entire world.

Diop will become a world class CB soon. West Ham are under no pressure to sell. There are absolutely no top class CB's available so we'll either go forward with Tuanzebe or else we'll sign a CB we can develop such as Ben Godfrey or Nathan Collins. Diop would be phenomenal though but simply not available for less than 80 million.

If we get both we will be better and set for 10 years.

We should pay to have the chance of not needing to enter the market for this huge amount of time.

NB :

After looking carefully, he look like Varane 2.0, very tall and explosive CB.
He can allow us to play a high defensive line, giving us huge recovery run ability.

From little I’ve seen he looks good but if it isn’t a major price difference I’d rather Maguire.
