Technically poor, tactically awful, negative leader; a butcher on the pitch and a toxic person.

The most overrated player ever. Only rated in the UK and his country.

Vieira on his bad days was twice the player and if Keane played today, he would play for a championship side.

He's a terrible manager too.
The same Vieira who sh*t himself in the Highbury tunnel?

Come again - Keano was not as good as Pogba and Lingard technically? What on earth have you been taking? Did you ever watch United games on tv or the replays all over the net? Jesse doesn't even enter the equation.

Pogba's an amazingly skilled player but Keano was the complete package. His tackling for a start. Pogba's role is not to focus on tackling but nevertheless, there are solid arguments to be made for Keano being ahead of him as an all-round player.

His style of play was so together - despite his rep as a rough player he actually was a polished one and made some magnificent tackles, knew when to pass and when to try and score, scored vital goals that were not spectacular but simply part of the job, had an amazing engine and was arguably the best two-way midfielder in the Premier League for most of his career with Manchester United.

And he has it all over Pogba in terms of attitude. Keano never dropped his head, never gave up, willed the team to win, kept driving it forward. He wasn't flashy like Paul but more effective and I would say a better all-round player much as I like Paul and his skills.
Keane, by his own admission, was not great technically at all. Incredible player though and proof that making it at the top level is about much more than just technique.

The same guy that has won all the titles possible and inspired Yaya Touré, Diaby, Pogba and a lot of other top midfielders.

His legacy is one of the greatest in the football world.

Vieira is also one of the only player to have said no to Real Madrid too.

Keane ?

I saw him and always tought that he was average on his good days. Nowhere near to the like of Vieira, Davids, Redondo, Makelele...

The Irish Deschamps. Well no. Even if Deschamps was techically extremely poor like Keane, at least he had a good football IQ and he was a great leader.

Maybe that explains why Deschamps is the coach of the french NT while Keane is a WUM on skysport and talk a lot about Pogba to stay relevant.

David Batty, Olivier Dacourt, Steve Lomas,...
Is this a game where we’re just naming random midfielders from past times?

You’re either trolling or you’re blind, I can’t help you with neither.

Are you Haaland’s driver or something?

Absolute nonsense, doubt you ever even watched him play. If anything I think he’s underrated in terms of ability as a footballer, because most of what you hear about him is regarding his attitude and desire on the pitch and nothing else. He had a very solid all around game.

Grade A prick, that's what he is.
When I lost in the Rio Olympics, the first phone call I got was actually from Roy Keane, she remembers. He said, "Keep your head up". He was very, very positive and that really does make my heart so happy. He went out of his way and it meant so much to me that one of my heroes, someone who I really looked up to as a child, gave me a call at the lowest point of my career,' she says. They're the things you don't see, Taylor says. He has a great heart… and he's someone who doesn't look for any limelight for those sorts of things. It was just out of the goodness of his heart.

Ireland's current womens boxing champ,Katie Taylor's own words, yeah loublaze, guy does sound like a right "prick"

ps: we also forget about the work he has done for the blind and children's charities still to this day.

C’mom, what did he do? did he tell you to feck off when you were asking for a autograph whilst he was having dinner at a restaurant with his family?
The way some people here underrate Pogba and Vieira to hype up the Irish fraud drives me crazy.

Keane better than them ? Seriously ? WTF !

Pogba wouldn’t last 60 minutes playing against Roy Keane, you’re mad, the guy was offended by some drunken old geezer shouting at him from the stands, are you having a laugh?

Obviously It wouldn't be nice to call you a moron based on an imbecilic post like the one above.
So, I won't.
I think it's nice, that what you lack in intelligence, you make up for in ignorance.

Every player he played with say nothing but great things... Like Andy Cole said with his mate Yorke, Keane is the only ex player that came visit him.

Roy Keane as the player was a world class midfielder and IMHO the key to the amazing United transitional/fast pacing play. Great ability to pick the right forward pass from deep in the midfield initiating the play.

Phenomenal pass and move player he was, definitely the most important player in that United team.

I disagree with him a lot but still like him.

Probably the 3rd best CM I've seen live behind Scholes and Iniesta. It was no coincidence Keane came out on top against Vieira more often than not. It was because he was better.

Roy Keane was the most Important player in a team that included, Scholes, Giggs, Beckham, Cole, Yorke, Stam and Schmeichel.

All massive characters and winners, none of them were anywhere near as influential as Keane. He carried the team at times. A wonderful footballer and an even better leader.

My favourite ever United player. And before Ronaldo I thought he was the best I’d ever seen in a united shirt

He's been Martin O'Neills assistant for the last 6 years
The discussion started when someone suggested Keane should be given a job as he was one of the boys. Well, he wasn't. We can afford to hire 3x goal keeper coaches, possibly a job to Scholes to shut him up, but definitely no charity to Keane, a traitor from the Board point of view.

I do not think it was so much the Board but SAF who was upset with him and the issue was mostly his problems and fights with Carlos Quiroz rather than the TV interview. The interview was the straw that broke the camel's back.

What you said was that Keane failed to get any job. Since retiring 13 years ago he's spent about 18 months not being employed directly in football, and that was apparently through choice.

I doubt you speak for the board btw. But even if you do, you're speaking on behalf of a a board thats achieved what? Taken the league champions to where?

Traitor?

I know him personally does unbelievable stuff for sick children , private visits to cancer stricken kids etc.
Hates to be photo or video’d for the privacy of the kids . # real person not like the prick posting
I know Roy also, and he does an enormous amount of work for charity. Nothing like some people describe him here. Was a brilliant captain for us and even Ronaldo said he made him a better player.

Another misconception about Keane I feel is that he'd hate people for being outgoing types when by all accounts he got on very well with players like Sharpe, Yorke, Beckham and he got on very well with Ronaldo by all accounts. Even on telly he seems to get on well with jokers like Wright and Adrian Chiles and he seems he does like a laugh. It's people that he perceives to be fakers and BS merchants that seem to really irritate him. I get the feeling that if he was playing today that Ashley Young and Phil Jones would get more more of his ire than Pogba would. Not saying he wouldn't get mad at Pogba losing possession but he'd appreciate his ability.
