Fernandes is only a realistic target if Pogba leaves and that doesn't seem imminent.

There's only one United!
Fernandes' agent met yesterday with Spurs.

Guess where he's going now after all this dilly-dallying!?

Very worrying that signing an attacking midfield option seems to rely on Pogba leaving, hope that doesn't mean we only get a defensive option if Pogba stays when we badly lack creativity in there

Imagine having Chiesa, Sancho, Fernandes, Rashford and Martial/Richarlison in the starting line up. Its a wet dream. Having a Kante, Makele, Viera or Keane to break up opponent attack and pass the ball to those fast and skillsful players.

Sancho - Fernandes - Kante - Chiesa + Rashford - Martial/Richarlison. In a 442 United way or in 4411 formation, playing on the front foot. Many way to play with those kind of players.

Sancho - Fernandes - Kante - Martial + Chiesa a free nr.10 playmaker - Rashford.

Again, you know how quick and skillsful Sancho is, adding with Fernandes and Chiesa. Two another fast and skillsful players in small area. 5 a side football on 11 men pitch to break up parking bus in premier league and super dangerous in the counter attack too. 6 factors and unit to a winning team.

Maybe Fernandes and Chiesa this year and Sancho next summer.

Then the hardest task is to get the legs and workrate of Kante. If not Kante and Makele type of player and abilities. Who others fit the bill?

Others pontential dcm/cm players :

Idrissa Gana Gueye from Everton?
Ruben Neves from Wolves?
Declan Rice from West Ham?
Sean Longstaff from Newcastle?
Nicola Barella from Cagliari?

With the exception of Gueye, all others 4 players are upcoming cm players. I havent seen much of Barella, but he has already 7 for the nation team. So all of Rice, Neves and Barella are theirs nation future regular cm player. Its difficult to pick one of those. If you want to dominate football match most of the time. I will pick Neves. More defensive abilities then i would go for Rice.

And if Pogba still stay next season. Then you its best to use 433 formation.

Chiesa - Fernandes - Rice/Matic - Pogba - Martial/James + Rashford.

Without Pogba

Martial - Fernandes - Rice/Matic - Chiesa - James + Rashford

Then next summer season 20/21. If United can get Sancho, then you move Chiesa or Martial upfront with Rashford. At this moment. Beside Chiesa, Julian Draxler are two of the best nr.10 you can get out there. The different beetween Chiesa and Draxler is the fighting and winning menatlity. If Draxler has top winning mentality, Draxler would be a really nr.10 playmaker. Draxler is a bit a more mood player. But the Chiesa boy, he is a winning head and hate to loose a lot. He is consistent kind of player. Like Rashford. You know you will always get 100 from Chiesa. He will still keep fighting when thing goes though.

So back to Fernandes. When you buy him and add players that can play really quick football like him. Together im sure they will play really good attacking football. If Leicester could win the league with that team.
Then i have strong belief that this starting line up is close to that too.

Sancho - Fernandes - Kante/Rice - Martial/James + Chiesa - Rashford. Not unrealistic targets.

Fernandes - Sp Lisboa
Chiesa - Fiorentina
Declan Rice - West Ham
Sancho - Dortmund
Diop - West Ham
Bissaka - Crystal Palace

Adding with Bissaka and Diop you have a strong starting line up.

De Gea + Bissaka - Lindelof - Diop - Shaw + Sancho - Fernandes - Rice - Martial/James/Chiesa + Chiesa/Martial + Rashford

In a 4411 formation, ala Cantona in that nr.10 role behind the striker. Im 100 % sure Chiesa can do really good in that free role too. Having Sancho, Fernandes and Chiesa in the team to feed you with assist passes and create goal scoring chances. Natural of this you will score alot as a striker in this team. A dream team and a wet dream. Sancho, Fernandes and Chiesa all together. Sum of this is attacking football closest to the highest level.

It will be and goes really fast, but still top control of the ball. Too fast and too furious. Seat belt on please.

Fernandes, Ndombele and Longstaff for the price of Pogba would be great business.
Not with Longstaff it wouldn't. We've got our own talented, young midfielders, we don't need to buy more. We can buy a young midfielder, but at least someone who is established in their team, a lot better than what we have and has more than a dozen games to their name.

Sporting having difficulties finding a buyer for Bruno for 70 m euros
Bruno Fernandes had a spectacular season. I can't stress that enough. On the other hand he's almost 25 years old, hasn't established himself as a national team starter and playing at Sporting didn't get many chances to showcase his skills in european club competitions. My stance on this is that interested clubs are aware of Sporting's financial difficulties and are willing to play the long game. Sporting needs to sell so I expect that price tag to drop a bit as time goes on.

My thoughts on the matter. I think we’ll get him in the end, we’ve been linked and scouted for too long. No way are we paying 70m euros for him when tielmans is available for 40.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
I don't think any top club was ever in for him.
It would surprise me if not. Perhaps not your City or Real & Barca type teams, but for teams like us he would be very useful. His scoring ability is tremendous and he's a good player all round really. I think he will move to a big club or one that is pushing to be one and he might be a revelation. At the right price he's worth a shot.

Solskjaer is keen for United to push through a deal for the Sporting Lisbon attacking midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, at the earliest opportunity. Fernandes’s agent, Miguel Pinho, held talks with Tottenham Hotspur last week but Sporting are awaiting United’s next move. Although the Portuguese club are likely to demand around £70 million for Fernandes, that figure is considered outlandish and a negotiating tool.

Several successive managers getting frustrated with the boards incompetence? Whatever could that mean?

Never seen him play. Apart from the well reported fact that he likes a long range shot and has decent goals/assists record, what are his other attributes? Is he quick, can he press/tackle, does he defend as well as attack? Just curious about the type of player he is.

He's not lightning fast but he's quick enough. He usually doesn't hold on that long to the ball, he's always looking for a breakthrough pass, a quick combination or other ways to get his teammates involved. As for his defensive atributes he works really hard for the team, almost always tries to press after losing a ball and isn't afraid to make an hard tackle when it's needed.

Sounds encouraging, especially if United want to play a high press.

Since we all know Pogba is more than likely going to leave next year, why not buy Bruno this summer first and let him bed in alongside with the team? We will also have a better Bruno more adjusted to the Prem after a season

Whether Pogba leaves or not we need a quality player like Bruno. We have lost Herrera. Matic is a spent force. Our entire midfield needs to be rebuilt.

Looks like we are counting on Fred to come good this year and replace Ander. Fred barely played last season and he will be like a new player. Yes i know it's kind of a cliche but he costs over 50m euros. No way are we going to bin him after just a season

I read we are trying to sell him.

But even if we don't he looks like a player that needs to up his game a lot. If we are to hit the ground running, we need players that are ready to go.

The situation is a shambles.
