How Eddie fecked this one up is unfathomable. We were already in deep negotiations before Liverpool came sniffing around.

He has been confirmed to us and Spurs in the last few days, I don't think the link to Liverpool is any more official. It seems like the media are having as hard a time with the slow pace of the market this season as we are so they are just making stuff up and hoping they eventually get something right through sheer dumb luck. I went through the press gossip thread the other day and it is no more accurate than the ITK thread. In 2019, everyone is Spoofex!

Literally nothing has happened, what the feck are you all on about?
This. The ones mainly pushing the United links are the bastions of credibility that gave us 18000 column inches of Gaitan to United stories and apparently someone put a fiver on him going to pool and people are jumping straight to meltdown mode.

Looks like we are counting on Fred to come good this year and replace Ander. Fred barely played last season and he will be like a new player. Yes i know it's kind of a cliche but he costs over 50m euros. No way are we going to bin him after just a season
Same could be said of Sanchez. 2 goals in 2, plus an assist for Chile in the Copa America. Nobody else is going to take him, so time for him to come good for us now.

But, he’s hurt his ankle again!

Since we all know Pogba is more than likely going to leave next year, why not buy Bruno this summer first and let him bed in alongside with the team? We will also have a better Bruno more adjusted to the Prem after a season
way too sensible for us

He’s 1/9 to go to Liverpool. Bookies are rarely ever that far off the mark. Something is happening. (We are 1/25 to sign AWB)

To be honest with transfers now, I'm more afraid of not signing anyone than who were are signing. If Liverpool do sign him, it will send this place into meltdown

From what I can gather, this whole transfer saga is being driven by agents working on behalf of Sporting in a desperate bid to get some traction for Fernandes. You'd think people will learn from past claims emanating from Portugal and wise up to it! I would be shocked if he ends up anywhere in the PL.

Yeah, a shite ton of Pool fans are getting on him joining after a few tenuous links.

As a no.10, with Pogba in a double pivot alongside a destructive holding midfielder.
Utter nonsense. Pogba's not disciplined enough. I don't know why this drum is beaten repeatedly.

Pogba + Fernandes and a DM would be basically just be the DM without the ball.

Pogba is quite capable and has shown perfectly acceptable discipline in that role for extended periods of time for both United and France.

I understand the signing of Fernandes if we sell Pogba (only for at least £160 million that is), but if the Frenchman stays, we should be looking at a CM that can control the tempo and help us bypass pressing teams, so that PP can play more as a proper 8 and do box-to-box kind of stuff on the pitch.

Considering the valuation is about £70 million, the club can do better investment with that sort of money. But maybe our preparation is for playing counter-attacking football for the majority of next season, which would be a bit of a shame because the opposition will figure us out quickly yet again.

Just like Keita eh?
No one in Europe has scored 27 goals from midfield since Lampard. Id say this makes Fernandes pretty special.

Will be gutted if we miss this. He looks full of confidence, ability, vision and energy.

This will just widen the gap between us and Liverpool to even more embarrassing levels.

If we really wanted him, or were ever in for him, even with how woeful we are in the market, I see no reason why we wouldn't have been able to wrap this up ages ago. Honestly starting to think we've never been interested.

I think Woody can only concentrate on one signing at a time. First James and now AWB. Hopefully he gets that one over the line before Woody goes off on his hols.

Price is one reason, while nations league the other.

He's not lightning fast but he's quick enough. He usually doesn't hold on that long to the ball, he's always looking for a breakthrough pass, a quick combination or other ways to get his teammates involved. As for his defensive atributes he works really hard for the team, almost always tries to press after losing a ball and isn't afraid to make an hard tackle when it's needed.
Sounds like you just described Herarra.
