He played in the recent France games no? How was he then?
Good at the exception of the game against Turkey where everyone was bad.He played in the recent France games no? How was he then?
I am neither against nor in favour of this signing. Buy you have to acknowledge that its a risk. Even @JPRouve seem to agrees to that and he is way more knowledgeable on French talent then I doWe should pass on Kane then as well?

Yeah of course. It's a big risk considering our history with players like that. But the upside considering the CB pool is really worth a shot IMO!I am neither against nor in favour of this signing. In this case its different. Umtiti torn his ACL when he was young and had a bad surgery and it took a lot of time to recover, he injured his acl again in 2017 and opted not to get surgery because he was scared of having surgery again. He's playing with an acl injury that wasn't treated. We should pass on Kane then as well?

I have been living with a torn ACL. You are not the same. The additional strain on your other muscles and other leg makes you injury prone. In fact, I just tore the calf muscle in my 'good' ACL leg playing tennis which I believe was due to the additional load. Don't sign Umtiti with a torn ACL please. In this case its different. Not to mention that no ACL adds extra strain on your already injured knee.I have been living with a torn ACL. You are not the same. Fair play to him though, he's playing top level football with no ACL He will be done by the age of 28 at this rate.
Had to read the story again, he injured his knee when he was 17 and had a bad surgery and he torn his meniscus after that and never had surgery. He now has no cartilage on his knee and that causes all the problems.I have been living with a torn ACL. You are not the same. Thanks. The profile is quite attractive and he's obviously a good player, I'm just very wary of his knee exploding when we need him the most.Good at the exception of the game against Turkey where everyone was bad.
Didn't know that.Had to read the story again, he injured his knee when he was 17 and had a bad surgery and he torn his meniscus after that and never had surgery. He now has no cartilage on his knee and that causes all the problems.
No one knows that, no one knows much about the injury at the exception of Umtiti, Barcelona and the FFF.Didn't know that.
Knew he didn't have operation on it the second time, but not that he didn't have cartilage.. Means we should stay away then and you are right!
That's troublesome if true. I would expect a medical to highlight such issues though.Had to read the story again, he injured his knee when he was 17 and had a bad surgery and he torn his meniscus after that and never had surgery. He now has no cartilage on his knee and that causes all the problems.
Plenty of teams in pl still have a striker who is strong the air, not traditional target men per se, but still strong in attacking crosses. You take last season alone, the likes of Jimenez, Murray, Kane, Lukaku, Rondon, Barnes, Mitrovic, Giroud and even Fellanini. It doesn't matter how good your positioning is, your full back gets beat and a cross is whipped in..... It's also not just in attacking crosses. I referenced the Kane goal. Spurs kick off, long punt upfield, Jones is on Kane, not neccessairly bad positioning but he's done in the air and the flick on leads to a goal. It's not just short central defenders, Lindelof isn't short but he's not strong in the air. If we did persue Umtiti it would presumably be to partner him.In europe and v the likes of City and Liverpool, that would be strong as they don't play with high balls but we could suffer against lower teams is all I'm sayingA big target man. Firstly, there isn’t as many these days and secondly I’m not advocating two short centre backs. Height is a small percentage of what costs a goal, a short centre back won’t let himself get into a position where he’s isolated against a big striker and if he does there’s a lot he can do to compete before it gets to the point of him being towered over.

wouldn't the medical he did at Barca have shown thatThat's troublesome if true. I would expect a medical to highlight such issues though.
I thought the 2nd injury happened at Barca?wouldn't the medical he did at Barca have shown that
yeah that would make sense, I didn't realise there was a 2nd injuryI thought the 2nd injury happened at Barca?
Id say let's take him on a loan + with the chance of buying him up at the end of the yearYeah of course. It's a big risk considering our history with players like that. But the upside considering the CB pool is really worth a shot IMO!
All those knee injuries! A chance he'll never play again. Welcome to the Injured Defender's Club Sam!Ihttps://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/samuel-umtiti/verletzungen/spieler/126540

Kane’s injury concerns are slowly becoming a problem, for what it’s worth. He’s an excellent striker all the same.We should pass on Kane then as well?
