Around Europe many teams have their finger in the pie of other sports. So what if United followed suit and launched a basketball team, handball team, darts team, pub quiz team etc?

Would the United name be enough to thrive on?

Would definitely be in favour of this but we all know the ownership will never be willing to fork out the money that would be required.

Within the UK, there isn't much of a market for it. The only possible choices would be a Cricket or Rugby team but every county or City/town have their teams already.

The reason it works well throughout Europe is due to the popularity of the smaller sports. The Euro league in the basketball is a big deal and well regarded outside of the states. Handball is a big market through mainland Europe and same with Ice Hockey in parts too.

The UK equivalents don't have enough of a following for it to even be considered for a club like United or any prem team.

We need to put effort into doing better at the sport we’re famous for first. I hope Woody doesn’t get this idea. He’ll be spending even less time on his actual role and prioritising baseball shirt sponsors and jockstrap partnerships

We're crap enough at football lets not ruin other sports for ourselves.

Although Lingard in UFC would no doubt delight a few on here.
