So, many moons ago I predicted that Valencia would be a brilliant player for us at right back when he was a source of ridicule for us at right back.

He went on to be a brilliant player for us at right back and I try to mention it as often as possible.

This year’s Valencia is going to be Scott McTominay. He’s going to develop into a key player for us this year. Not only working his arse off defensively but beginning to stamp his authority on the ball too.

Any other predictions? Slim picking to be fair.

I hope Rashford starts scoring, Martial starts running, Shaw to continue without injuries & McTominay to continue his progress.
Out of those I'd say McTominay is the one i feel most sure of.

What qualifies a Valencia POTY. I have a feeling that there's only McTominay in this particular demographic.

Unlikely hero. I mean, Ashley Young would be peak for this category.

Scott McTominay.

For the Victor Lindelof player of the Year award 2019/20. The Victor Lindelof player of the year is someone the caf declares very good after an amazing transformation, despite all the evidence pointing him to being slightly above average at best.

If he scores own goals every week and we sell him to Sunderland, will you make a similar thread next year?

No, it doesn’t seem very likely that I would. You’re not making any sense.

Sean Longstaff.

For the Fred of the year award 2019/20. The Fred of the year is someone we sign for a lot money, but avoid putting on the pitch as much as possible.

Given that the whole squad has been derided as utter shite, doesn’t every player qualify for the particular category?

Anyway, my vote goes to Fatboy Shaw.

For the Cristiano Ronaldo award - stays an extra season, plays well all season then leaves.

Wait that's a step too far

I think you’ve picked the one player who doesn’t qualify.

Deadwood of the year 19/20. Won't play much as he'll be behind Young & AWB in the pecking order, but will be nonetheless the root of all our problems according to many.

Phil Jones, will finally fulfill the gaffer’s prediction, and become one of the greatest Manchester United player of all time, will have 9 goals and 15 assists, mostly from corners.
He’ll find himself playing in a deep-lying playmaker role.

Good times ahead lads

Phil Jones at DM is a terrifying experiment which we should not repeat

He normally did fine playing in DM - not that I want him playing irregardless.

I'm hoping Martial will be the player he was in his first season again for us. No Jose to mess him around, and no real competition for his position.

The Phil Jones Player of the Year 19/20. The CB everyone hopes will unleash the player we all hoped he'd become when we signed him only to pick up a niggling injury, in the first game of the season, that keeps him out til Xmas and leads to a series of follow up injuries that limits him to 8 appearances all season.

Edit: Wait, that may actually be the Eric Bailly Player of the Year Award.

Valencia was never great for us at right back, and he was hardly a source of ridicule at right back either.

Back to the topic, we can all hope McTominay will be that player this year, because by the looks of it we aren't going to improve in midfield without someone stepping up.

I would vote, but I simply have to disagree. Great player on the right wing in his first season, but all down hill after he dropped to right back.

Had some good moments, but largely disappointing if you look at the last 2-3 seasons. Considering United used to dominate games and be on the attack more often than not, Valenica used to ruin attacking play by pile driving a cross into a defender's shin without looking and eventually even refusing to attempt to beat a man down the wing.

The world-class label some used to give him is laughable.

More sense than thinking Valencia was ever a “brilliant player for us at right back”.

I think Fred will step up once we sell Pogba and surprise everyone this year, especially when he dismantles Man City at the Eithad.

Am I doing this right?
